Smash is a party fighter, yes, but that doesn't mean it should be a total mess. Hero is basically the character equivalent of one of those awful stages that has so much random crap going on in it that it turns into an overload. Sure Smash fans tend to get dramatic about this type of stuff but they're unironically in the right with this instance.

I have never seen more people butthurt over fighting games than Yea Forums. I can't imagine being so bad that you think Hero ruined the game in the slightest when in reality his normals are so fucking slow hes hardly a mid tier. Dilate more if you think this character is broken in the slightest.

slow normals hurt him badly, has no way to break out of combos, easy to edgeguard, all his aerials are slow especially bair and that's his best way to kill in the air and it isn't even that powerful compared to the aerials of other characters, slow running speed makes it hard for him to follow up on his own attack strings, menu is a huge gamble and you can only really use it in an advantage state

kazap is fucking hilariously powerful though

if you are new to the series, then i think VIII and XI are the best starting points

Assist trophies, they are the opposite of fun and make matches complete blowouts. Items can be fun but assist trophies combined with pokeballs guarantee the other player simply cannot touch the stage which makes it more likely for you to grab more.

probably in place because his smashes don't hit as hard as his speed would make them feel like, he attacks and moves like a heavy but hits like a middleweight outside of his crits and charged spells, but i'd prefer no crits and slightly stronger smashes since i feel like that's the wrong kind of random element to incorporate into a fighting game

Mario Party without dice randomness is still a disjointed collection of tasks impossible to fit into one genre. Minigames, item/coin management and collection, and skill in tasks ranging from button mashing to legit platforming. Hence, "party game".
Smash Bros. without stage and item randomness has most of the hallmarks of a fighting game with few interruptions, only a slightly different take.

It's not the fault of the real players if your sole enjoyment in playing the game comes from "LE FUNNI ITEMS MADE RANDOM THING NOBODY ACTUALLY INTENDED TO HAPPEN, HAPPEN".

yo hero is like the best character not because of how good he is but how well he actually represents his series. its a good translation of a rpg char. to a fighter. i feel older characters could use a similar tuning (give Lucas Offense up, Samus can switch between beams etc)
