Everyone knows about Fallout 1 and 2 (even though few have actually played them), but this? It's completely ignored, despite being a refined version of the old Fallout games, with all the boring shit like conversations and managing RPG stats removed in favor of pure action. And there's a PS2 Fallout game even more obscure, haven't played that one, though.

Attached: fallouttactics.jpg (630x754, 67K)

A proto-Battlefield of sorts that came(lmao) too early to ride the online multiplayer wave to big sales.

Attached: image.jpg (474x363, 32K)

Emergency Fire Response
Also know as Fire Chief in UK, Fire Department in some European countries or 998 Pogromcy Ognia in my country.

Attached: emergency-fire-response_8.jpg (800x600, 115K)

I played through this like 50 times

Attached: pitfall3d.jpg (650x650, 89K)

Hey fuck you, I played that too. pretty fun for a playthrough or two, but jank when you try to go back to it

Pic related was actually the first game I got for my psx. It's a JP action-platformer where you take the roles of compy, human, raptor, and finally t-rex. Switching between the different characters keeps things fresh, as they all have their own special attributes, attacks, and approach to navigating through the levels. Collectables that can be found in secret paths/areas or that require tricky platforming and skill add a nice bit of depth to gameplay and replay value - that is, if you can actually beat the game. It's fucking tough. I think the farthest I made it without cheats was deep into the raptor stages. The game also has superb graphics and sound effects for a ps1 game, as well as its very own orchestral soundtrack made specifically for the game.

Attached: 1563309952720.jpg (640x480, 74K)

i fucking love psycho circus

I knew a guy who could near perfect speed run that game. I never thought I’d see the game mentioned anywhere

The only thing I actually remember about this game was that it came with the infamous trailer for Forever

Had it on a demo disk and loved it as a kid. It has some pretty gruesome death scenes iirc

I played that shit, never beat it though

Piece of shit, it's my most hated videogame ever.

Attached: soldieroffortunepayback.jpg (205x246, 13K)

I've never seen a single soul on any forum or imageboard or even chatroom talk about this game. I feel like I own the only copy of it in the world, but there are a few YT videos on it.

Attached: 335228-sanity-aiken-s-artifact-windows-extras.jpg (800x987, 219K)

Tactics is like a full combat non-RPG spinoff expansion to a Fallout sequel that never existed because every raw mechanical and interface aspect is superior to Fallout 1 and 2. It's just missing all of the RPG stuff.

>the inside of the mouth is a penis

That's some finely crafted bait. Have a (You) if only for how cleverly you snuck in the unmentionable for maximum trigger.
Fallout Tactics was in fact pretty good, though.

There are many different versions of Space Invaders, but the only one that I ever enjoyed was the GBC.

Attached: spaceinvadersgbc.jpg (324x290, 24K)

ITT: boomer nastalgia goggles

This game is Assassin's Creed before Assassin's Creed. ie. every aspect of the game sucks for the sake of making animations look better.

Attached: Fade_to_Black.jpg (277x352, 46K)

I'm going through a Lithtech binge right now. This game is on the list.

Is it worth checking? I am fondly to the shooters form this era

Attached: file.png (570x400, 445K)

The only good RTS in a console, ever.

Attached: redalertretaliation.jpg (600x594, 90K)

nobody is saying these games are automatically good you meme spouting embarrassment
you're mom should've swallowed

Pure jank.

Attached: 171248-cryostasis-windows-front-cover.jpg (800x1138, 136K)

Yes, it follows the Serious Sam school of FPS, with hordes of enemies which you get to blast with powerful guns. If you are fond of old-school shooters you'll love this one.

I don't remember anything about this game other than pure feelings of nostalgia and one scene where someone walks through some sort of forcefield and gets gibbed

Attached: silver1999.png (220x279, 105K)

Played the hell out of this in lan

It's an alright game. It's not a masterpiece but it certainly has some neat ideas.

is it called wargasm because of the climax of battle or because some sick fuck got off to this shit?

Mostly shit, but honestly has an odd place in my heart. Could've been amazing. Wasted potential.

Attached: två människor.jpg (472x573, 111K)

Attached: arcatera.jpg (309x400, 22K)

Hey, I played that one too. I remember you could load all kinds of crazy ammo types into that pistol, but very little else.
It was a descendant of Flashback, which in turn was a descendant of Another World; both games known for having advanced animations for their time and not much else.

Console peasants could have Twisted Metal, but the master race had THIS.

Attached: interstate76.png (420x489, 391K)

fuck that game was so unforgiving

Interesting game, but ultimately boring as hell.

Attached: dedgermans.jpg (780x585, 109K)

well i loved it

I love fallout tactics. Something like this should been done in fallout 4.

Actually a pretty cool game.
Wasn't very optimized for it's time though, ran horribly on my HD5870

There were nifty cheats for it, the best was the 99 lives cheat, then the game was really fun.

Attached: deepfighter.jpg (277x350, 34K)

god, killing the 1-hit goblins in this was too satisfactory

Attached: maid of france.jpg (1024x768, 189K)

Don't forget the gruesome death scenes. Getting all of your flesh stripped off in an instant by a morph blob. Getting all of your blood drained by a mine worm. Skin bubbling off from intense radiation.

Everyone talked about the PS1 games, everyone talked about the PSP games, but no one ever cared about the PS2 game.

Attached: Syphon_Filter_The_Omega_Strain.jpg (256x363, 39K)

I played the demo to death.

>Actually a pretty COOL game.

Attached: carlos.jpg (600x600, 35K)

Shit game, but at time it was the first time I was ever able to use a lightsaber in a game, so a lot of time was spent on this.

Attached: starwarsmotk.jpg (319x312, 23K)

I still have the CD. That game was nice, even though a bit unfair for Polacks.

Attached: thefringe.jpg (460x215, 29K)

i thought it was fun despite just being a dumb little collection of minigames.

Attached: Incredible_Crisis_Coverart.png (256x254, 112K)

Shit man, do you know were to pirate it? My disk went to shit long time ago, really want it, for old times sake.

Aw shit, I have been planing to get this game recently actually, since as a kid I thought it looks cool, but I never got a chance to play it. Is it good?

Now THIS game got what it deserved, to be forgotten. It has nothing to do with Turok other than the name and the fact that there are dinosaurs in it.

Attached: turok2008.png (850x995, 857K)

Kiss Psycho Circus

based, but not obscure
I had it as well, I think it was an example of some of the very best graphics in 1997. Too bad it used a level password system instead of memory cards.

Attached: Enforcer.jpg (846x1024, 180K)

Is that Robinson requiem ?

Maybe if the name was not so distasteful he could have worked

Even the original SoF is pretty obscure

Attached: soldieroffortunegame.jpg (800x973, 145K)

No clue, sorry.

Are you calling it shit in a positive or negative way? I honestly don't remember the game well enough to tell.

weird, was just thinking of my mate from childhood playing this game. YOUWEYYY

I really liked it, wish I could play it with bots.

Really fun but I couldn't progress past some level.

And I'll never stop telling as many people as I can about it because more people need to be aware of this fucking gem.

Attached: 20190703193759_1.jpg (1280x720, 271K)

I'll just post the usual one I always post here

Attached: Handkerchief.jpg (640x840, 482K)

I played Vigilante 8, which was the prequel that came out a year later

I really liked, though as kid I never really understood strategy part of it, so cheesed large armies with arrows.

It's Deus (not related to Deus Ex in any way)

I've never seen anyone mention pic related, ever.
I don't remember much other than that I had no idea what I was doing.

Quarantine. I played the demo to death too, but could never get a hold of the full game.

Attached: Screen5.jpg (640x480, 39K)

This is the closest I got that I can think of.

Attached: Transformers_-_Beast_Wars_Coverart.jpg (300x300, 93K)

Are you serious? I even meet a zoomer girl who played it.

Attached: 262852-bumper-wars-windows-front-cover.jpg (800x803, 141K)

honestly it sort of sucked but it was the only RTS with dinosaurs I ever saw so I still played the fuck out of it.

How about the ACTUAL proto-Battlefield, this is what DICE was doing before starting to make BF games.

Attached: codenameeaglecover.jpg (800x1027, 159K)

I played this a really long time ago but barely remember anything from it.

Ancient Conquest: Quest for the Golden Fleece
No land units, boats only.

I only knew about the TV show. Is the game any good?

Attached: mdk 2.jpg (640x480, 49K)

No its fucking awful. I really wouldn't recommend playing more than a few minutes to sate your curiosity about it.

Attached: tarakany-1.jpg (640x480, 79K)

one of my buddy's had this, I thought it was neat.

Attached: Extermination_Coverart.png (220x314, 104K)

Vigilante 8 is a spinoff of Interstate 76, but it simply doesn't compare, I76 is a hugely complex game, with a very long learning curve. V8 is a consolized Twisted Metal clone.

It's pretty obscure nevertheless.

It's a Deus Ex spinoff. Yes, really.

Fucking grannys garden. Still remember those passwords

passwoids

Game was so good

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 70K)

Why did i play this?

Attached: Commando-Strike-Force.jpg (760x1074, 52K)

>Real War
Only thing I really remember about it is that I felt like the units moved really smooth. Looking it up now, it's because it used 3d units on a 2d map.

It had a killer OST

i played that game.
i liked the air pple

Attached: 90.jpg (760x379, 121K)

And what is the name of the so called gem?

I mean, is the game available anywhere nowadays?

Hey Hey people Sseth here,

youtube.com/watch?v=qPvrEIZein0

Attached: it's like silent hunter anime.jpg (480x360, 14K)

First "civilization" game I played. Of course as kid I know shit how it all works. Make me wonder how this game fare in comparison to Civilization 3 or newer Civilization titles.

This game invented the modern FPS controls on controllers, moving with the left analog, aiming with the right analog. But no one has actually played it. The fact that it was very, very scary and hard as balls might have to do with it.

Attached: alienresurrection.jpg (1500x1307, 505K)

i remember this being a lot of fun when i played it as a kid, wish i could find an iso for it

Attached: fdnypc0f.jpg (640x640, 160K)

Legally? Because you can easily find a torrent for it somewhere.

It barely runs on modern OSes but that might be because I have an AMD GPU. There's an expansion for it that isn't available digitally so that's probably a better nominee.

Attached: header.jpg (460x215, 138K)

Gameplay was kinda meh but i absolutely loved the setting and art direction.

Attached: projectnomads.jpg (800x600, 58K)

RE4 clone, when that kind of thing was cool

Attached: coldfear.jpg (321x513, 36K)

>dude let's take the old Fallout character system and use it for a completely different gameplay lmao

tl;dr: fuck this game

Played it, the seamless switching between TPS/FPS was pretty good. Also, I may be the only person who likes QTE but this game used a "critical success" system, which I only found out almost at the end.

I got the achievement for dying 50 times or whatever. Then traded it for Fallout 3.

>CHADS ISLAND

Always wanted to play this. Is there no torrent for expansion?

Because you had a shareware demo cd from 1994 and you went through every game in alphabetical order trying each one?

I'm sure no one else played this, other than a few old boomers. Even if one is full willing to play it, it's a nightmare to get it to run in a modern system.

Attached: heretic2.jpg (1600x1200, 167K)

XDDD nice meme, guess who is getting updoots tonight!!!

I don't know if it's the nostalgia but this game was pretty great
The graphics are shit, even for its time, but the everything else was kino

what's up with people misusing carlos today?

Attached: 1531702728124.jpg (610x686, 76K)

This game is so stupid and i love it.

Attached: 220px-Panic!.jpg (220x371, 46K)

I don't know if it's the snow, but it's fucking comfy and also it has that sense of adventure.

This one was actually decent. Not the greatest, it really had that budget game flavor all over it. Good thing is that it had the original duke voice actor, and the best version of Duke Nukem theme.
youtube.com/watch?v=JMIA0wQIJ9w

I can only find it on rutracker, apparently there's a scene release
>Ascension.to.the.Throne.Valkyrie-SKIDROW
Apparently the DVD has no copy protection according to gamecopyworld if getting a physical copy is a last resort.

Played it on PC, was fun

>I can only find it on rutracker,
based rutracker

It's an adventure because you're going to so many locations, each with its own huge threats and the slightest fuckup means you're dead
Did you bring a sword to fight stone golems? Enjoy your shit damage and spending all your money on repairs
I also loved the quests that you had to actually think to complete, even though some of them were so obscure
>I need you to get special eggshells, it's just behind that gate that's always locked
>Time to find a pigeon, chase it across the map and have it open the gate
All in all, it's a pretty gangsta game

Attached: 319945-soulbringer_002.jpg (800x600, 77K)

I am actually playing this game, since I bought it from the steam sale. Haven't played it too much tho because of the big backlog.

I'm downloading it now, hopefully it's also in English. magnet:?xt=urn:btih:857A2354B7AC02F2C2AD5085F4FDBD661B008C16&tr=http%3A%2F%2Fbt3.t-ru.org%2Fann%3Fmagnet&dn=%5B%D0%90%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%B8%D1%8F%5D%20Ascension%20to%20the%20Throne%20(Ascension%20to%20the%20Throne%20%2F%20Ascension%20to%20the%20Throne%3A%20Valkyrie)%20%2F%20%D0%92%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%85%D0%BE%D0%B6%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5%20%D0%BD%D0%B0%20%D1%82%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%20(%D0%92%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%85%D0%BE%D0%B6%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5%20%D0%BD%D0%B0%20%D1%82%D1%80%D0%BE%D0%BD%20%2F%20%D0%92%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BA%D0%B8%D1%80

Attached: captain_god.jpg (500x709, 34K)

Actually, I think you can get in in English on the pirate bay.

I haven't used TPB in years, good to know then. If you have a Nvidia GPU and it works reply if it works or not on your machine so I have a reason to make a dedicated Windows XP machine.

I'm not installing it today, just downloading. But it's AMD and on win 7.

my dad broke his keyboard playing this because he couldn't beat the stilt-man boss.

That was some bullshit. The stiltman dude was very hard to beat, and kept recovering health.

You certainly heard of this, but what about the mobile version?

I download the second one few days ago to relive my childhood, I wish there were more firefighter RTS games

Attached: 294446-firefighter-command-raging-inferno-windows-screenshot-my-men.jpg (1024x768, 221K)

What game?

Not a single other soul has played this game.

Attached: pariah.jpg (220x286, 22K)

I remember playing the demo of this, it was pretty fun desu

A Build engine Vietnam War game. I don't recommend this one in the least, lest you have to deal with very primitive level design (jungles on an engine that wasn't designed for this), extremely frustrating gameplay (you have to deal with respawning Vietcongs that hide behind trees and then pop out and kill you in two shots, instadeath mines and traps, random airstrikes, among other crap). They made the Vietnam experience a bit too much "realistic".

Attached: nam.jpg (1920x1080, 465K)

There is also Emergency series, tho it doesn't focus only on firefighters, but also police, medics and others.

Attached: Emergency 2.jpg (780x585, 112K)

I can’t believe I’m the only one who’s played this

Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday.

It turned out to be surprisingly good for its age.

I vaguely recall playing demo or shareware. shit game.

yeah, played those too
I just wish there were more games of this kind, or just more RTS in general

Try Gorky 18 aka its incredibly dumb Russian localization

Me. It was mediocre at best.

And behold an even more obscure game by the same developer. This one is not as frustrating as Nam, because Germans in Europe are much easier to deal with than junglegook guerrillas. However, in a year when Medal of Honor was all the rage on the PS1, this was what the master race had to offer. JUST

Fun fact, this was the last Build engine game before Ion Fury.

Attached: ww2gi.jpg (1024x768, 179K)

Actually it's pretty great. I find it better than any Civ pre-4.

In the end turns out that the girl was a living bomb. Liked the way you could modify your weapons.

This was Hexen's competition. Playing it makes you realize how much of a solid game Hexen is, while this is pure jank.

I remember Witchaven 2 because it was the first game which let me to fuck around with level editors. I made a couple of them but I never could figure out how to play them.

Witchaven 2 is even more jank than the first. You would think they would improve on the game's flaws, but no, they made the jank even more prominent instead.

Kamen Raider edition

This one was fun. All your buildings would turn into red light districts if you didn't keep that shit under control, and the low-tier tokamak reactors would blow your city up if you built them too close

it aint so, played this with friends a lot, we were all fans of twisted metal and vigilante 8

I played this before I got over turn-based in F1/F2 as a kid. It was pretty based and it was fun running your own squad.

>their entire colony is nothing but red light districts

nice, i mostly played it by myself because my friends couldn't stand playing it for more than like 10 minutes

I absolutely loved the presentation of this game.

Attached: file.png (800x600, 1.32M)

fuck this shit should have been revived for VR

I only played 2. I played a bit of 1 by it seemed less interesting.

It's alright, but its really short and kind of a pain to emulate without an actual wiimote+nunchuk, and the difficulty randomly spikes for a single level before coming back down

Attached: 220px-Battalion_Wars_2.jpg (220x311, 32K)

Cold Fear. I've only seen it talked about maybe 2 or 3 times on Yea Forums since it came out. I played it somewhat recently, like 2 or 3 years ago, but I don't remember anything about it other than it's basically RE4 on a boat. I don't remember if it was good, or bad, or anything really. All I remember is the game was constantly rocking and tilting back and forth since the boat you were on was in a storm.

The trailer looked really neat so I'll try it out, thanks user.

what gaem

Is that the KISS game?

It was actually only originally intended to be a Deus Ex spinoff, but they ditched that idea after it became too much of it's own thing.

not so fast, i played that, it was on an old winzip pirate cd i got from a friend way back (had worms 2 on it iirc so it was a good day)

The one and only

zipcd not winzip

HOLY FUCK
I found this game in a tractor supply co $5 bin like 10 years ago and I have been trying to remember what it was this whole time. You are a god.

I actually really liked this game, puzzles weren’t hard but made it interesting. I had no idea what the story was other than suit got stolen.

KKND was the shit, I liked the high tech mech you find.

Gromada, by russian developer Gromada. It was quite complex, with different chassis types and weapons divided between AA and not-AA. It was also really hard.

Attached: file.png (640x400, 798K)

I played the demo of this from XBL years ago and remembered it for some reason 2 or 3 months ago. I've been trying to torrent it ever since but no luck. I don't really remember anything about it other than having a gun that made bright green explosions.

Attached: wheeloftime_06[1].jpg (1600x1200, 171K)

I remember these two games being boring as shit

Wasn't this sort of like FE where units could 'die' but still be in the story? You just wouldn't have them in missions anymore. Because I swear that fucking happened to me with Jeanne, she got owned by some other guy that could transform and for some reason that wasn't an instant game over.

I loved this one

Played it, the setting with the technowizards was silly and the game was okay.

It's a jurassic park game can't remember the name tho

I suddenly remembered Nectaris: Military Madness. Probably the best wargame I've ever played.

Look cool, will try it. Thanks senpai.

>And there's a PS2 Fallout game even more obscure, haven't played that one, though
You did yourself a favor

i spent countless hours in local and online multiplayer in this

7/10 record, never played the game. Wanted it every time I went to Walmart with my mom but she said something to the effect that it was probably cheap shit like most KISS merchandise got me Spyro instead. Was she right?

But it was good. Graphics were good too, them reflections.

My mom played this game on pc like a decade ago. It was like link to the past, but clearly a hobby project. The final boss was this demon, but it had the creators face photoshopped onto it, it was hilarious.

Kiss: Pyscho Circus was about beating the monster generators before they flooded you. Playing 10 minutes of that is the same as playing 10 hours. It wasn't good by any means.

I found it again a few years ago but I can't get very far in the campaign. There's a depth charge mission that seems to be impossible because of how difficult it is to steer those bombs

It was the Deus Ex spinoff that wasn't. It ran like shit on the PC. The game also had a lot of cinematic stuff that was well ahead of its time.

Honestly loved it. It was like an homage to the original side scrollers.

Got me here. I read the reviews as a nine year old kid but never bought it. Supposedly it had some nice TECHNOLOGY for the time but it wasn't a great game.

The control scheme is not as smooth as you'd think despite its revolutionary nature and the FoV is fucking tiny.

That game was kinda janky, but playing as a raptor was pretty sweet.

I was the only PC nerd of my tiny elementary school. Supaplex was the first DOS game that someone else told me existed instead of me telling them it existed.

Not of this one, this one is a fps.

>staring Ice-T
Holy hell the puzzles in this game were obnoxious later on. Boss fights became shoving matches since everyone ran out of power before HP.

It was shoveware cashing out the SoF name. Then again, there wasn't much left after SoF II hit with a thud.

>it's a nightmare to get it to run in a modern system.
Wrong.

Fade to Black was the original third person shooter before Tomb Raider made it popular. Dealing with one-hit kill trap enemies and unbeatables was annoying. Later levels were just about keeping up with the stupid fairy thing floating around.

Fuck the no deaths in the ice forest achievement.
Fucking Lv 50 ice forest was a god damn nightmare

Loved this game. Got it with the Microsoft Force Feedback Joystick (which was amazing)

>control scheme is not as smooth
Well, duh, it's a FPS on a controller, of course it's not gonna be smooth. It still isn't, hence the need for autoaim, good controls only with mouse and keyboard. Can someone post that webm of "when console players play with autoaim off", please?

Attached: 1479654462045.png (200x200, 64K)

That one is pure /vr/. Everyone in the 90's played that.

TimeShift had lackluster sales. It wasn't obscure for what it was: a lack luster game. It's real accomplishment was escaping development hell.

these are good

this is pretty bad

This is one of my fucking childhood defining games. I have finished it over 20 times and still pretty much remember every area. It's definitely worth playing and should work on win7 at least.

this I have to play someday

It was alright, I thought it was funny that there was a special move that was basically a big shotgun blast of water, and there was boss fights

No one asked anything, zoomer.

The demo and the first area had all the atmosphere. It was absolutely amazing and I love the hell out of it as well.
Playing the rest of the game wasn't nearly as satisfying. The second area has a lot of places where your battery can run out. The third episode is pure chaos. The last is just abusive.

Heard the second game is a lot more focused, but I never played it.

Based Sega CD child. I’m planning on playing Dark Wizard soon

>make a cool X-Com spinoff

Working for Microprose at the time must have been suffering.

couldnt get it to run on win 10

Honestly, it was just a mediocre FPS even by budget shooter standards. There were on to something with MSS2 with the stealth and sniping mechanics.

OTOH, Jarhead games turned into PGI and now run MechWarrior:Online. They effectively have control of the mechwarrior franchise.

I know but F2B's priorities were all fucked up. Because of Delphine's fancy new motion capture tech they didn't want to do anything that could compromise the visuals of the game, which made it control like ass.

I have it or did. Friend found it at a Good Will.

Wasn't this game broken? I remember playing this and I wasn't able to get past a certain point

I recall one guy saying it was great. It got good reviews, but they printed 3 copies of the game.

>2
Ah, that one I never played.
I do have some fond memories of call to power 1 from back in the day, but god damn it's an unplayable mess, checked it out again only like 1-2 years ago.
It has some really nice concepts for near future scifi tied to 4x so it's a real shame it sucks to play.

Ran fine here on Win7, only the crack didn't work, but was able to run the game itself by leaving the ISO mounted. There was no copy protection.

>heretic 2
>only you played
Everybody played this. Fuck those combos tho.
This was featured on Ars Technica. It sucked.

This budget RPG was in every store in 2005j. It was largely unfinished.

Compared to Resident Evil 4, the game it rips off, it's pretty meh. You want a RE4 clone, go play Dead Space instead.

this was a legitimately great game
it looks kinda goofy in color though, on the grayscale screen I played it on it had a much more unsettling feel

I couldn't play Pariah because they never patched their renderer and their solution was install ancient video drivers.

Jank but fun, like most Midway games

Attached: 220px-Dr._Muto-1.jpg (220x280, 24K)

I could never obtain this game as a kid. Every time I bought it at a computer fair, it would just be another defective bootleg copy.

Sequel was pure cash tho.

Another Midway gem

I'm not holding anything against the game for being janky. It was THREE DEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...in the 90's no less. Alone in the Dark and anything else that tried to be 3D was janky as shit back then.

Game was released in 1998. It is effectively /vr/ territory with all the CnC and SC knockoffs. It was popular, but I didn't find it that fun. Combo inputs were a bitch and puzzles were super hard. Platforming didn't help either.

Nightlong was a lousy adventure game with huge amount of atmosphere. Fuck that last puzzle with its ten variable guess and check bullshit.

>defending X-Com fucking Enforcer
No, you still don't get to pretend the animated corpse of what should have been X-Com Alliance was a good game.
The years have done nothing to make me forget.
NOTHING.

It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either.

>And there's a PS2 Fallout game even more obscure, haven't played that one, though.

It's called Brotherhood of Steel and it sucked the most giant of balls.

X-Com: Aliance was turned into a tax write-off never to be returned. Even the leaked alpha showed that the game was burning in development hell because they didn't know what they wanted it to be.

At least the Gollop bros escaped and made LSN. If you want to cry about about something, let it be Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge. What the slavs did to its corpse was disgusting.

This is the worst game I've ever played

Holy fucking shit. Another one who knows about CE. Our LANs were never as funny as CTF in this buggy and janky but extremely entertaining game.

Oh I know about Dreamland Chronicles.
UFO Aftermath started out okay to be fair; creative setup, good atmosphere, but holy fucking shit was that thing a mess after the early game.

Scrapland was a really good game, but nobody played it, which is a real shame.

Despite managing Original War, Altar Interactive couldn't manage keeping the series going worth a shit. I think they could have finished Dreamland Chronicles if they wanted to but didn't want to pay tech licensing costs. Easter yuros are cheap to the point of being self detrimental.

Yep. Its patches literally broke the campaign. Never got to try it since we got it prepatched on a lan.

It's funny how in Poland where game industry was still behind rest of world at that time it is kinda liked and hated everywhere else. While sequels done in times when game industry reached level of rest of world and had real games are trashed locally but consider ok outside.

Dark Colony

It's a pretty good and stylistic RTS that was forgotten by time. I remember it being really violent and gory, with aliens heads exploding, humans being torn apart, buildings that was just disgusting assholes shitting alien units and so on. The campaign was also good. This game was probably shadowed by Starcraft.

Actually it wasn't just me, I had one or two friends with that game and we all played it for a couple of months.

Attached: dark colony.jpg (1280x720, 175K)

Idk, never crashed on my pc.

Looks like a mutant cock. Why was this allowed?

Dude the multiplayer was top-notch in this game.

Zone Raiders was a weird but cool mix of 3D, vehicular combat, and speed running for the time. Then the dev found its niche in racing simulations.

>Dark Colony
I remember it as a pack-in game for a 5-for-1 CD collection. Half the functionality described in the manuals didn't work in the campaign. Yeah, it had a good deal of that 90's grotesqueness that was strangely popular. Not sure if you could actually finish the human campaign. One of the later missions kept bugging for me, I think it was the one with the betrayal.

Is this worth playing if you absolutely hate military shooters, but like Build Engine games?

This was originally going to be a different game. It was suppose to be a third person shooter where Bruce was going to be your partner and you would work together to complete missions. Then they just turned into a mindless shooter.

Attached: Jersey Devil (SCUS-94907) (Front).jpg (1409x1400, 1.96M)

The only game to ever sport the FORBES branding. It was whimsical at best.

Attached: forbes corporate warrior.jpg (116x142, 7K)

Slave Zero was fun. It ran its own custom EUPHORIA engine. It had absolutely no staying power whatsoever despite the initial wow factor.

Attached: Slave Zero.jpg (432x521, 40K)

It's not a military shooter on any means, despite trying very hard to be one, as the Build engine simply did not possess enough tech to allow that. It's one of the worst games on the engine, although not the worst. I would only recommend if you're a completionist that wants to play the entire Build roster, like I am.

It was a really good ARPG lost to the obscurity of being a later PSP release.

Attached: Warriors Of The Lost Empire.jpg (640x1095, 135K)

>One of the later missions kept bugging for me,
Weird, I don't remember the game having any special bug, but that was a long time ago, who knows...

This was actually my first ps2

Not a game I've played, but a game I saw.
I watched one of those old top 10 video game psychopaths videos on old youtube back when I was a small boy. And one of the guys was some white haired (i think) guy who tortured small girls or whatever. Cut them up and shit. It was an anime style game, and I'd say the graphics were...PS2 era? I really don't know.
As for games I've actually played, there was this one where you're some kind of rabbit in a 3D platformer. The goal was to collect various vegetables (like carrots) and later on easter eggs. The only enemies that I remember were chickens who chased you around.
Another one is this one 2D or 2.5D game where you're a tank. It was a side-scroller shoot em up. The first boss was some big ass hellicopter I believe, and the only other boss I remember was a gorilla, or a robot gorilla, I don't know. I never beat that boss as a kid, and I never found out what game it was.
There were a few others that I actually learned the name of later on. Like Otto Matic, the one where you're an alien and shoot killer vegetables, Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Bugdom 1 and 2, and so on.
There was also this one shoot em up where you were a fighter plane. Played this one with my dad a lot. But there are so many games like this that it's impossible to find the exact game.
Pic related is Froggy's Castle 2. You're a fuckin knight chimpmunk or squirrel I think and you shoot frogs which multiply into smaller frogs until there aren't any more of em on screen. There is also Froggy's Castle 1 but it wasn't as good.
I played some ET game (not the atari one). It was an overhead-puzzle like view and you had to guite ET to the exit.
Feeding Frenzy 1 and 2, where the goal of each level is to feed on fish, until you grow to the point where you can eat bigger fish, until you're the biggest thing in the level.
Some weird fucking game where you have to guide a small purple alien creature and you need to feed him until he's giant.

God there are so many.

Attached: screen2.jpg (640x480, 59K)

Necrodome was one of those awkward first person vehicular combat games.

I even cheated and hax0red the game files and still couldn't get the mission finish to trigger even after wiping the map multiple times. Then again, I was one of those poor kids with a Cyrix CPU.

Attached: 5587_front.jpg (640x739, 123K)

Nocturne was more tech demo for the engine than game. It ran like shit on anything less than the recommended specs. The readme had a kudos to John Carmack for help with the cloth simulation. Said engine was used in the Blair Witch games.

Attached: Nocturne.jpg (250x299, 21K)

Angel Devoid was one of the few FMV games that didn't suck. Good luck getting it to run on modern systems.

Oh yeah, I still have the PC Gamer CD in my home.

>It had absolutely no staying power whatsoever despite the initial wow factor.
Agreed, the game gets boring and repetitive halfway through. But back in the day there weren't many games available, which made me finish it.
Too bad there doesn't seem to have cool mecha games like this these days.

The game had bullet time before Max Payne made it famous. Holding the mouse button down on the menu would reveal a signature of one of the devs. The game had a bad case of 90's level design.

Posting Asia-only systems is cheating.

Looks like a WK40k racing game.

The game was somewhat popular. It was one of the earlier "why are vidya girls so sexy?" controversies despite Leisure Suite Larry, strip poker porn games, and Dreamweb having an actual sex scene (one of the earliest in vidya).

>But back in the day there weren't many games available
You had Shogo: MAD for arcade shooting. You also had the simulators: mechwarrior, heavy gear, terranova, and lots of others I can't remember the names. Yeah, being a big robot wasn't that cool when all the other robots were bigger.

M.A.X. and its sequel were deep, difficult, and weird games. It felt like an SRPG with a SimCity knockoff and other things bolted on.

My dude.
The soundtrack is also great.
It might have been your copy. I remember finishing it.
Legends of Valour, according to Google.

I remember getting a demo disc for this game but never playing it.

I remember seeing this game on a gaming magazine, it looked really weird.

Legends of Valour.

Oh, I thought it released earlier.

Try"The Maw"

Blade Warrior was a late 2D side scroller on Windows. Found it in a budget bin one day as a pack-in with Samurai Shodown.

OMF:BG was great but it bombed in sales. It got beat on relentlessly for not being a Street Fighter clone when the dev clearly wanted to do something that embraced 3D. Later on, arena brawlers like Anarchy Reigns took the same mechanics and got praised. Rob Elam disappeared into the night along with the last of the 90's demosceners.

I saw someone playing it. It was a weird game built around possession. Had David Bowie in it for some reason.

Does anyone remember a very obscure FPS game for the original Xbox where you could shoot the wheels off a fat npc? I think you were armed with a pistol. It's been so long since I saw it, and I've never seen it posted anywhere

I remember playing this when I was a kid.
I still remember the whole command lines that I had to imput to play it on DOS

Attached: 4t3tg.jpg (259x194, 11K)

Only the greatest technical achievement of all time! Over the course of my life, I've given this game more overall hours than the next 3 games combined.

Is it true that it's a nightmare just trying to run the game? What am I in for?

Attached: 00009163.jpg (1024x768, 152K)

Wut?
It ran fine on Windows XP. Never heard of it having compatibility issues like oldskool win9x games.

MOOOOOOOM user IS PLAYING ODDJOB AGAIN

i was young when I played it, like 12, but I liked it ok then
always hoped a dev would get a chance to expand on the idea and release it on PC

Attached: Aliens_Versus_Predator_Extinction_Cover.jpg (287x347, 23K)

I've seen a review of this game where the guy couldn't stress enough how hard it is to run the game on modern OS. Welp, fingers crossed. I hope he was wrong.

Only game I ever saw played on a Wonder Swan was like, Final Fantasy III? I worked at EB Games at the time, and while we didn't sell the system, one of my friends who also worked there with me imported a brand new one. Were all of them white?

Never got past that fucking mission with police helicopter, cops just bullied me into oblivion. But i had a great time in skirmish with bots.
Also, is right, I76 was big in the nineties. Interstate 82, on the other hand, was way more arcadey, not that good, and not that popular for that reason.

Attached: Interstate_82.jpg (300x368, 61K)

Gonna post some early PS1 FPS, they were really fucking weird, like they were more concerned with showing off the technology than if the games were good. Nevertheless, it lead to an unique style.

Not him, but the game you saw was either FFI or II. III was the one that didn't get a Wonderswan release.
There was also a side-scrolling Mega Man Battle Network game on the Color.
>Were all of them white?
It seems to have come in different colors (or at least the color did).

My God, i gave it as a present to classmate in 5th grade. The game was heaps of fun.
Also, in our country it was marketed as a sequel to Excessive Speed - another really fun but obscure top down racer.

Nobody gives a shit what you think and the game was fantastic

This is what all these games look like. Every single of them has this same aesthetics.

That's the one! Thanks user.

Attached: s-l300.jpg (266x265, 31K)

As was said with another game I posted and someone said "it was popular!", if the game was really big, why is that it's only ever talked about when *I* bring it up?

The only generic sports game I really enjoyed

Pleb, Space Invaders is great in almost all ports

This was my dad's favorite game. Edgy as fuck and very, very violent, and really hard. But it was fun with cheats.

Attached: projectoverkill.jpg (800x819, 68K)

I know a lot of people had a lot of Corridor 7. I didn't care for it. Capstone had some real programming talent on its hands for what they did with old engines.

i was playing this shit with no memory card, dont think i ever made it past the 2nd level

The only good versions of Space Invaders, besides the GBC version, is the 1999 version for PS1/N64/PC/GBA

Attached: spaceinvaders.jpg (701x500, 75K)

Gonna ask here because I've thought about it for years but never really remembered.

What was the name of that game that had a Russian theme with a shitty older 3d artstyle which was a first person horror shooter? I remember the trailer vividly on game trailers, one of the monsters shown was a dude in a straightjacket with a spear attached under one elbow. I could have sworn the name was something like "Too Human" but that's this game so now I don't remember.

Let us know how it goes, user.

>like they were more concerned with showing off the technology than if the games were good
That wasn't an unusual thing for the era. There was no such thing as commodity game engines back then. You either had to roll your own engine tech or buy another dev's code and work with them. Epic, Monolith, and ID tried to do it back then but not nearly on the level of today's plug and play multiplat systems.

Amped 3 was pretty good.

Awww shit my nigga

Not sure why they even bothered publishing Gunlok since they only printed like 5 copies. It's a great game despite the obscurity.

This had a PC port. Despite billing itself as an action game, it's a four piece puzzle game where you have to maneuver your squadies around the level and shoot the occasional monster. Enjoyed it despite the later puzzles being annoying.

This one was fucking amazing, even if they were trying to cash in on the Starcraft audience.
The Alien faction gameplay is one of the best ideas implemented on an RTS

There's an Egoshooter where you kill aliens. It had really cool gore effects, similiar to "Shogo". I forgot the fucking name, but I THINK it was made by a german studio. Maybe it's starting with the letter "K"?! Any user that can help? I had the demo of it. Year? Phew... it's definitely looking like a shogo-type of game, graphics and engine wise.

I'd proclaim my love to you, if you find out what the name of that game was. Sorry if it's not much to go by.

I played it! The alternate black/white color scheme for the 2nd player on coop was cool for the time. I didn't care for the secret dog missiles. Concussion/mortar/chaingun/lightning gun/explosive circle thing were all fun as fuck to play.

nah it was fine. stage designs and dino sections weren't great

Is this the one with the audio clip of Jeff Goldblum congratulating you for wasting your time getting 100% completion?

Back when From was more than "the Dark Souls guys."

I don't even know hot to describe Millennium: Altered Destinies to people. The end goal is to rebuild 4 civilizations so that they don't get wiped out by a fifth. You have to seed planets, jump around timelines, say the right things to the aliens at critical points, move technology and advancements around, and all sort of other things. Could never beat the game without a guide because a lot of it was so jank. Saying the wrong thing in a conversion would ruin the civilization and you would have to jump around again to get another go. Doing things didn't come with clear feedback so you never really knew or felt like you made progress. It was an interesting experiment.

>Crazy Ivan
Remember the trailer being super hype but I didn't have a console at the time.

Attached: Millenium Altered Destinies.jpg (640x480, 26K)

I now remember that you had a grenade launcher with similiar bounce-back mechanics to TF2. But it's around the time when AvP 2 released, because I got it on the same demo disk I believe

I played it on PC. Apparently it's free now.

Everyone hated the shit out of this game despite being a TPS blast. Then they reskinned it, added more platforming, and sold it as Wet and everybody loved it for some strange reason.

i remember it had LAN too and PS2 had like 4 player so you could play with others.

That gun that shot through walls blew my mind when I was a lad.
