because phoenix down only works on men, women are whores who only want chad and therefore phoenix down condemns them to their deserved fate

In ff4 the twins from the magic village or whatever used stone on themselves to save you from the crushing wall trap, so of course you couldn't reverse it because they did it to themselves. Later, they got fixed anyway with no explanation. FF4 was just one fakeout. Practically every character seemed to have died at one point, but the only one that stayed dead was the old guy.

You've never read "The Princess Bride?" There's various levels before you're actually dead, K/O is just FF's version of Mostly Dead.

I do but the translation and writing for about half the game is really bad, especially when it gets to some of the key story points at the end of Disc 1. The overall plot is good, it's just presented poorly.
