Name three (3) games that do this.

>game has a faggotry meter that's always maxed out and never goes down

Attached: lovecraft.png (448x448, 182K)

Don’t starve
Alice
Jackie Chan

95% Of people that say they like Lovecraft haven't read more than few of his works.

Oh no a squid I'm insane now

People of color scare me

>game has a pleasure meter

Attached: hh.png (250x250, 130K)

Is this the same guy that really hated black people? Why do you still like him OP? Lovecraftian should be dropped because of association

is that niggerman?

90% of all people that shit on him aswell
like this guy

So?

FUCK

N

Also Eternal Darkness

really really gay mechanic, if depleting it means loss

woman who invented birth control was an anti-black eugenicist, guess women can't use birth control any more :^)

>Game has a cat with a unique name

>gatekeeping
You’re the same type of people who say just because I’ve only played Breath of the Wild I can’t say I like Legend of Zelda. Faggot.

>higher pleasure, lower sanity
>eventually loose yourself as you turn into the girl, heart and soul

Attached: (Futaket 12) [NULL Mayu (Chimosaku)] Abdominal Pregnancy.png (2103x5154, 2.84M)

I always felt like sanity meters were the worst way to do a sanity system. The whole thing about going insane is that you don't know that you are insane. It should be a gradual thing that happens over the course of the game and you only realize that you're crazy near the end. If you have a keen eye you can spot oddities and possibly see it coming.

>Dude that’s so lovecraftian

Bloodborne calling it Insight made it work a bit better

No, OP's post really appeared more Kafkaesque to me.

>did YOU know Lovecraft had a cat named NIGGERMAN?! hahaha bet you didn't know that!

Attached: 1524304766864.jpg (708x800, 64K)

Woah dude. You can't say that word, that's too far man.

darkest dungon

Most people that say they like Lovecraft have only read Dunwich and Call of Cthulhu

On the Creation of Niggers (1912)
by H. P. Lovecraft

When, long ago, the gods created Earth
In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
Yet were they too remote from humankind.
To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger.

Attached: AHAHAHAHAHAHA.jpg (2242x1800, 2.42M)

I've read most of them. I like a lot of them but god damn did I get sick of reading the word cyclopean walls over and over again.

Why is this myth so prevalent? to me, its proof positive no one has actually read any of his stories.

Why are the Dream Cycle stories so fucking comfy.

of course you can, but it's like saying you love mexican cuisine after only eating a churro. you've barely dipped your toe in.

also, I know
>food analogy

>only listened to the abridged audiobooks

Why don’t people like food analogies?

Lmao, the cat in his stories "rats through the walls" is what you're thinking about, I dare you to find ONE thing that says he owned a cat called nigerman

>game has sanity meter
>it's just a screen shake every time you look at an enemy
annoying as shit

>implying you would't shit and piss yourself infront a predatory animal capable of killing you, never mind a towering mess of writhing tentacles and cyclopean flesh

I've read several of his stories, and I can think of several examples of him at least being the standard level of racist for his time, but I can't think of one example that convinces me he would object to calling his cat Niggerman.

>racist for his time
Even for his time he was pretty racist

>game has sanity meter
>empty the meter on purpose
FEEL GOOD

Attached: 1553843967812.jpg (800x1198, 159K)

Like Spec Ops: The Line?

Gay

the implication and "myth" I'm talking about, and that I've heard is that he himself owned a real cat named niggerman, it IS in rats through the walls. The cat is helpful too lol

Apparently, but that's more based on biographical evidence rather than his stories. Even shit like The Curse of Yig is pretty casual compared to how racist he apparently actually was.

>And my old nigger-man was leaping in & out of the shadowy bushes, occasionally deigning to let his Grandpa Theobald pick him up, put his green shining eye to the telescope, & show him the critical surfaces of remote planets—where for all we know the dominant denizens may be lithe, quadrupedal, sable-furred gentlemen exactly like Nigger-Man himself!

H. P. Lovecraft to Annie Gamwell, 19 Aug 1921

>Of all my dreams, about 0.8 are of that period—with myself in short trousers & at the old home, with my mother, grandfather, black cat Nigger-Man, &c. Still alive.

H. P. Lovecraft to Helen V. Sully, 15 Aug 1935

>Losing sanity just makes the visuals darker/blurrier and adds random screams to the game
Why the fuck do people think being insane is like having cataracts at a rave?

Attached: 1551780598063.png (442x329, 91K)

And nobody ever names fictional characters after people/animals in their actual life, so that's straight out.

How was he even more racist for his time?

Most people who say they like Lovecraft mean they just like the Cthulhu mythos. His writing isn't fantastic and he relies on the same tropes. I haven't read all his works but most can be summed up as "physically frail man see's, hears, or experiences something he can't describe. Faints. Wakes up safe somewhere else with only a vague memory of what happened."

>game has a nigger meter

Attached: 1497318126187.png (748x443, 226K)

Why did he hate black people?

I've heard that he was a very sheltered man, but he actually mellowed out in later life.

>The whole thing about going insane is that you don't know that you are insane.

That's not true though. Most people who suffer from psychosis/extreme delusional thinking have periods of relative lucidity where they realize how nutty they get during breaks.

Because there is no way to actually emulate what being insane/schizo is like in a game.
The biggest fear from insanity is the literal mindbreak you go through from your brain being so fucked it ceases to be able to distinguish between reality and not
Even if you only suffer temporary hallucinations from drugs or being in a coma in the hospital for extended period, the feeling of later on not knowing if part of which you experienced was real or not is what eats at you.
nevermind the actual hallucinations which can be pretty terrifying when you are half dead tied to a bed in the ICU

Attached: anything is better than going insane.webm (920x516, 2.71M)

I don't blame them. Have you even tried reading an original story?

>be Lovecraft
>literally make the tropes
>a century later some Yea Forumsirgin writes this

freaky fishpeople from innsmouth symbolise minorities that he didn’t like

source: my ass

Niggerman is a cat in one of his stories, though?

heh.

Eternal darkness
The sinking city
Amnesia
Call of Cthulu

I’m not a virgin i had sex two years ago

call of cthulhu: dark corners of the earth technically does. although you can't see it

Imagine being a basement dwelling incel during a time when white people actually were convinced that niggers are a subhuman offshoot race and not just colored differently.

Ive read them all and still like his works. What now you lil niggercat?

Why does H. P Lovecraft look like McLovin?

>Game has an exhaustion meter
>And a stamina meter
>And a hunger meter
>And a HP bar
>And an infection meter
>And a faction meter
>All while racing against time

Attached: 1499383058134.png (189x199, 106K)

Such a shame, this shit could've been so good

The dreamland stories are actually much better than the dude squid I'm going insane lmao cycle.

That’s actually perfectly put. I feel like he’d fit in those comics where they meet a black person and at the end he’s writing a post on Yea Forums saying he lost it.

wow at least 2 bosses

>Game does insanity right
Damn man. I wish there were good crazy characters like this.

Attached: 1440876624095.png (1920x1080, 1.47M)

What game? I want to play a game where you have to manage a lot of things

>game has a hunger meter
>game has a drink meter
>both of them completely deplete in about five minutes and you drop dead

Why is dagon so fucking good guys? Simple as fuck but it gets me the goosebumps every time

>listing three sanity meter games without mentioning Eternal Darkness
I'm impressed.

The screen keeps shaking more and more violently till my character kills himself when I keep looking at evil thing and the effect immediately wears off if I look the otherway.
I say it's obvious enough without a sanity meter.

>game lets you turn off survival meters but you refuse because you can't bring yourself to opt in to making the game easier than default

>there will never be a movie or game based on The Thing on the Doorstep

I guess people just skip this story because the title is stupid, but it's one of the best.

youtube.com/watch?v=gHLEGzu8Dw8

Don't forget:
Sunken City
Amnesia
Jackie Chan

Pathologic. I suggest looking into the game to see if it's right for you before picking it up.

Attached: Actor.jpg (800x450, 49K)

What game?

Is it still good in 2019?

not sure where i said it needed a sanity meter, but thanks for the explanation

Which Dagon, the Mesopotamian one, the John Milton one, the Lovecraft one, the Elder Scrolls one, the Evil Dead one, or maybe you were talking about one of the many other, more obscure, Dagons?

based cunny weeding out the idiots

dayz standalone

The Lovecraft story, you fucking nonce.

Niggerman

Attached: 34554767.png (646x634, 350K)

He was /tg/ before there was such a thing.

If only the developers knew what insanity was.

For I have been over that edge and back.

I always forget the name of that somewhat recent guy who was responsible for making a lot of the compilation and collection books of Lovecraft's stuff, but also tried to expand on the mythos stuff and did a shit job at it.
Anybody able to help a nibba out?

Based

Mommy told him to, he was raised with the idea that blacks were inferior retarded humanoids

>colored differently

Attached: 8754444523.jpg (453x470, 24K)

Halo? What?

There’s no such thing as race, let it go /pol/

I want to know as well

>just colored differently.
And ugly facial bone structure. Especially west and south Africans.

What about ethiopians?

The Colour Out of Space was his best story.

Attached: 1422605883851.jpg (339x425, 23K)

A bit better because they are somewhat closer to Caucasoids, though it's a hit or miss.

Taken over the edge, facing the abyss...

You act like he was the only one. Racism has been very common since forever.

I've read most of his works and the popular ones are the best ones, though they are all enjoyable, except the one with the guy going under the pyramid, that was a hackjob.

>Stand in a dimly lit area for 10 seconds
>Whoooa, I'm going craaaazy! Look at how the screen gets all distorted!

Gta online
White noise

That's not how you spell The Nameless City

youtube.com/watch?v=EIdf3DHLjMQ

This is actually a pretty even-handed look at his life and why he wound up the weirdo he was. inb4 soi

>it’s been around since forever so it’s okay

Racism is fine as long as other races stay out.

At the mountains of Madness > The whisperer in the darkness > The Call of Cthulhu

How come every time we try to discuss Lovecraft video games it turns racist?

I'm gonna have to go with The Dunwich Horror myself

Attached: some pig.png (640x400, 243K)

I've read everything. Throw in Mountains of Madness and you pretty much have everything covered anyway...

Nobody cares about your tranny fantasy faggot

Cringe and brainletpilled

It's sad that Lovecraft has been reduced to a meme about squids and muh sanity and muh racism.

He had common sense
>idea

No I'm say stop acting like he was some profoundly unbelievable racist. I'd bet 80% that lived within a hundred mile of him was racist too. Its like getting mad that the picture is in nlack and white.

Close, but Picture in the House is the only one that actually made me tense up the first time I read it.

Attached: 1563558502140.jpg (923x539, 125K)

That's a weird way of spelling shadow over insmouth but ok

As if I didn't need more evidence weebs are trannies.

It has become fashionable in certain circles to disavow Lovecraft whenver he comes up because he was a racist and a hack writer besides (the same way Seinfeld isn't funny u gaiz), so it's fashionable in this circle to be completely contrarian and say I named my cat Doubleniggerman.

That's how I feel about Colour. I think his other stories were cool, but none of them really gave me that horrifying feeling until that part where the protag meets the old farmer who got infected and is decaying while trying to tell him what happened. Creeped the fuck out of me the first time I read it.

He had supernatural insight and knew of 13% and 50% before those numbers were even reached.

Seinfeild isn’t funny. Maybe back in the day but newer shows have supplanted it.

What was his cat called again?

Based

I like Whisperer in Darkness, Shadows over Innsmouth and Pickman's model

The fuck is this Jackie Chan game? One based on the cartoon? And it has a sanity meter? What

bloodborne

Cracker

Miffed Michael
Zaps Boltman
Radians of Deviance

How's Insight affect things in Bloodborne?

What a nice manga.

I respect that but you're wrong.
His best work is Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath.

>name cat Crackerwoman
>she suddenly starts fucking dogs

the fucking violin player one is his best work, it's so fucking ahead of it's time it's like it was written today, superb horror story

Why, Niggerman, i belive.

>attack power goes up as sanity drops

Attached: sam hyde shooter.jpg (1024x1024, 171K)

I can't tell if you missed my point or are just agreeing with me on a different level of irony than I'm on, my dude.

so... what's the sauce?

>they look like monsters to you?

>cyclopean walls
seriously, what does that even mean?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclopean_masonry

Bloodborne
Eternal Darkness
Amnesia

> denoting a type of ancient masonry made with massive irregular blocks.
"cyclopean stone walls"

Ya, its a pretty harrowing game

I like the way Don't Starve Together did it. You can suddenly see a friend running away from nothing and fighting something you can't see and apparently is not even there.

The Character is Unicorn from Azur Lane
Not sure which doujin

>2019
>still no good lovecraft movies
Mouth of madness doesn't count

>find some dead flowers
>take them with me because maybe they’re useful
>why am i going crazy?
The game never tells you anything, it should let you know certain things

Wasn't that the Houdini one?

Under the pyramids was decent, just paced poorly

It doesnt, really. Missed potential. In the final game it only affects three things: one insight lets you level up, three insight unlocks a merchant in the hub, and forty insight lets you skip to the endgame early. The last one also reveals some invisible monsters but that happens anyways by progressing the story. The game would have been better if insight affected more stuff in the early areas.

In the end, it turns out he was the one who wanted trouble the whole time.

I like mountians of madness and shadow out of time most, because they have the deepest lore.

Huh. I'm in the Nightmare of Mensis right now with like 49 Insight so not sure what monsters are normally invisible.

It's the big ones outside the church lantern. They normally become visible after killing Rom and beginning the Blood Moon phase, but 40 insight triggers them early.

further proof that the best ideas come from drug induced minds

Movies operate on "show, don't tell" and you can't show something that is inherently unshowable.
You need to concoct the horror in your head as someone's telling it for it to work.

Ahhh, the ones that have sacks on their backs?

Lurk moar newfag

Don't discuss Lovecraft video games on a racist board, you dumb.

That game can be really opaque, but if you didn't figure out early on that evil flowers are evil, you probably have a bad case of the shitbrains.

Nah, though I forgot about them. They appear at insight 7. It's the really big ones that cking to the side of the building. You cant fight them.

You know eventually he stopped hating blacks right? He still died alone :(
