Sony won this gen and might win the next, but Nintendo is bouncing back very well from the Wii U, so they do have a chance. Xbox is definitely going to be third place in the next generation.

MS' actions make me question where Xbox fits into the new paradigm.

If Halo Infinite and other exclusive IPs are going to find their way onto PC and smartphones, why bother with Scarlett? If you're the type that's only interested in FIFA and shooters, the only reason to go Xbox over the PS5 is if the PS5 costs 600 quid or something

While Nintendo went off and created a new market, MS seems to have done the opposite. I think Nintendo would be suicidal not to make a switch 2, since the Gamecube and WiiU demonstrate they cant compete conventionally against anybody anymore

there's always a market for prebuilt/low end hardware and that will never change. they'll keep selling consoles as long as they're viable. up to 50m people bought the x1 so the demand for the platform is there.

that's from sales momentum. Switch is pace for pace with the ps4 at this point in its lifecycle
