Good idea user but they likely won't. I always wish for a medium armor that is actually distinct and is made for a mobile warrior build, and with perks I really think it could shine. Alas it won't happen. We can always dream, and there is always mods as well. Tes VI will probably be worse in so many aspects, but after their recent games I'm not worried they will completely fuck it up. It will just be a fucking dull story and dull game that needs to be fixed with mods.

my & some friends had the theory after the whole "they pawn the Devil Arms off to collectors" statement & the trailers showed off Artemis and Gilgamesh (who I thought was going to be an upgraded Nightmare) that V would have had all of the old Devil Arms come back as their boss forms with some new tricks to fight for the fruit. And whatever weapon never had a true form would get one for the first time. I still think that's what they wanted to do at some point and they had to can a lot of it for time.

I don't even like katanas, but that sword just looks awesome.
The part I like most is the proportions of the model, it actually looks like a real fucking sword. The blade isn't cartoonishly wide or thick, the length is mostly appropriate, all the proper katana hilt components are there, and even though the guard is very unique and stylized, and large for a katana, it isn't the size of a dinner plate or encrusted in spikes and crystals.
That brings me to my other point: This is, obviously, even at a glance, a FANCY fucking katana; Like, royalty-tier. But is it completely covered in gold, gems, wings, animal/heraldry motifs, and a wavy/serrated blade? No, that blade is just a very clean, very sharp, perfectly-curved steel katana blade. The grip is a clean cloth wrapped perfectly/properly around rayskin with a small, typical, gold/brass grip charm (if you start calling me out on the japanese names you're an ultraweeb). The guard and end-cap are a deep blue (possibly blued steel) with gold/brass etching/trim. The etching designs are of a mid-way point between European and Japanese floral/trifoil motifs, and the entire sword maintains a consistent, iconic color scheme of white, dark blue, and gold. I don't care much for the designs of Japanese scabbards, but this one definitely fits the bill of a realistic fancy katana, with the flat black/marble finish of the body, the consistent dark blue and gold trifoil patterns on the tip and opening, and subtle floral stitching on the navy blue cord.
I've said it before many times, but it bears repeating: Weapons of antiquity don't need to be made "cooler", they're already cool as hell. and now with the internet, nigh-countless examples from royalty- to peasantry-quality of reproductions of almost any historical weapon are available to use as source material. So we no longer have to look silly by making "badass" swords like
etc.

Yamato is made about 40% cooler when you realize it's actually pretty long and Vergil has been doing iaijutsu with an odachi all this time. It's a very small detail but it makes it so much more unique.
