Guns do less damage than swords

Its a meme, the more range the weapon got the less damage it deals, look at archers and monks

Yes, and? Need something to keep it balanced, remember this is video games.

And besides, slicing someone in half does tend to be more damage than a few holes. Of course, there's guns that can do way more damage nonetheless, but usually not the kind that get used much in video games.

Doesn't gatling gun hit twice or something? I know it does less damage anyway because of enemy armor making multihit pretty mediocre without a high base anyway (and since most skills are highere base damage plus multiple hits they're the optimal), I just mean, that's why, isn't it? It's pretty balanced with cloud's buster sword, I wanna say.

>t. never shot or stabbed before in his life

buster sword would do less damage in back row anyway

with the fine gatling gun you get to deal normal damage and take less damage

remember this is video game with mako enhanced super soldiers that will put the force of a thousand suns behind every sword slashes VS a gunshot

Why can't they just make mako enhanced guns? I feel like it would be much easier to give a random dude a supergun than to create supersoldiers.

>Guns do less damage than a literal hair clip

well, at the very least the eco terrorist would have a problem with it

Because it's a video game and not real life.

Guns only shoot little holes in you. Getting stabbed by a sword is like a giant bullet ripping you to shreds.

if you really think about it, swords are just really big bullets and sword users are just really big guns

>t. nigger in a ghetto

super guns would kill super soldiers
but that means you would have normal soldiers against super soldiers with guns and swords,
the super soldiers have much more stamina and aim skills, making them the winners

Why? Faster flying bullets won't cause much more damage

>only shoot little holes in you
t.never shot a gun in his life

>Gun does less damage than a 6ft long, 1ft wide sword that probably weighs close to a ton

I mean, yeah.

user just compare the size of a bullet to the size of a sword

bruh the only caliber comparable to being struck by a sword has to be a 50BMG

Because that's worthless in a world where you can cast spells.

>does more damage than a gatling gun

And increasing caliber size increases the wound size.
Now imagine a bullet that's 50kg, sharp on one end and swung around as fast as a bullet's velocity by some fucker roided out on magic

That's a military grade glock

>destroying the solar system does as much damage as a sword hit

the 2005 king kong game handled this well. Guns were way more effective then fists or spears, but ammo was very scarce.

They did, Palmer uses one. But magic kind of sucks in that game so it's still worse than the sword.

Barret is a former miner with no weapons training. Cloud has supersoldier bio-enhancements and military training.

I know you're only pretending to be be retarded but holy fuck man calm it down people might think you're really a retard.

They have a skyscraper-sized cannon called Sister Ray that fires Mako beams.

This is one of the best FF7 baits/ talking points.

To be fair, wearing kevlar and ballistic plates isn't as difficult as finding armor that can stop a 60lb chunk of sharpened steel

Yes? A super soldier wielding an enormous amount of magic metal raw mass and super human speeds is going to beat out the amount of force any regular human could deal with a gun. Guns aren't immune to the laws of physics, making one more powerful results in something bigger, heavier, and higher recoil.

>Why can't they just make mako enhanced guns? I feel like it would be much easier to give a random dude a supergun than to create supersoldiers.
Like other anons said a super soldier would still make better use of that tech anyway, plus there is the issue of ammo. Not that you have to deal with that within gameplay, but IRL logistics is a big deal. If a super soldier can essentially negate that by use an ultra high durability melee weapon supplemented with some minimal magic use they can recharge in the field via foraging, that's enormous for logistical flexibility.

Plus it makes it impossible for any of it to fall into enemy hands. Shinra had a lock on SOLDIER, while they had to worry about individuals defecting it's not like anyone could easily just walk off with a super weapon. If they grabbed a super melee weapon it wouldn't even matter because they couldn't use it anyway.

you're still fucked even if it stopped it anyway

Condemned criminal origins (1, not hobo ball Z) does it too. It's pretty nice.

It's not that hard to understand user.
Single Bullet Hole vs. Being cut in half
Sure multiple bullets will do more damage but you're more likely to be able to stand up and walk after being shot than if your leg was cut off

the real kicker is how a sniper rifle loaded with .50 BMG is weaker than a bow

A bullet will do less damage to you than a sword strike in the same location

How large is a wound from a gun compared to a wound from the buster sword? Checkmate brainlet
