We'll never know, just like we'll never know what's going on with the rest of the Domain. Life as far as we know, they could have intentionally cut off the Persean Sector to get rid of problem elements like Tri-Tachyon, Ludd, and the XIV Legion, and everyone else is just fucking fine.

Pathetic, desu.

How do I get new ships? I know how to salvage derelict ones, but they're always in shit condition (obviously). How do I repair them?

Go to a dock and press the repair option, it eats supplies. They'll also do so passively as long as its enabled from the fleet screen, but it's slower.

Running on empty here, we might have to put this one down

it will never be finished, it's not on steam and is already at the stage where they change existing game mechanics for the worse. Pirate it or don't play period, don't support these kikes

Is repairing instantly more expensive?

with enough missile carriers and/or mods, anything is possible

When at a station, go to your fleet screen and there should be a Sell (1) and Buy (2) tab at the top of the screen. This took me a while to figure out as well.

It does have white portraits, but like 60% are Asian (mostly SEA) and 30% or so is black or maybe arab.

That was Into the Breach, and the "dev hates white people" comment was just /pol/ being a little crybaby. Literally couldn't find a source of it.

and helmets!

must be pathetic to only remember games by whatever insane bullshit you need to politishitpost about every week.

Pretty sure that was more an educated guess, senpai. It'd be odd to exclude an entire race of people in your diverse cast without a reason.

Helmets are the only acceptable portrait for the player.

Shame, though I only had any interest in the idea because of that Kadur guy being so fantastically autistic.

Knights Templar still doesn't work right?

what was it again with the two?
something about stolen assets and then the New Order guy was called ubernazi and shit?

The Kadur guy is just very ideologically driven. His faction doesn't even ascribe to its inspiration's philosophy (Turks) and is rather just a bundle of the author's personal beliefs.

>and then the New Order guy was called ubernazi and shit?
Damn son, wonder how advanced mental illness must be in a person to call a video game larper of a Human supremacy order which includes all races a nazi. I'll never understand the cognitive dissonance of SJW retards labeling the Empire as they do and not noticing that they are indirectly separating all the other Human races as a separate species from Humanity.

One fun thing to point out is that most of these people also probably like Darth Vader and Palpatine memes, yet the Empire in Star Wars is 100% a human supremacy faction. Humans (of all races) get top status, followed by human-derived species, followed by aliens who look close to humans who are tolerated, then all the icky alien looking aliens who are treated like trash.

fuck off to /vg/

>playing vanilla and not owning a conquest
explain yourselves

Yeah, see It's really noteworthy from the lore, the gates shut down IMMEDIATELY after Ludd arrived in the Sector, but not only that, but crammed here in this utter backwater was the Church of Ludd and Ludd himself, dangerous religious psychos and anti-technologists, Tri-Tach who was suspicious to the rest of the Domain for their AI-like command structure and their contrast investigation for building AI at the edge of legality, and the XIV Legion, who was infamous for mutinies and dishonorable behavior that looked terrible to the media. So you have three big thorns in the Domain's side all shipped to this backwater, and the Gate shuts off right as everyone gets there? Yeah, that's not suspicious at all.

Redpill me on the New Galactic Order.
Were they actually Nazis?

*lowers your reputation*

They're as Nazi as the Empire from Star Wars. Human supremacists with fascistic, militaristic stylings, but none of the actual culture or philosophy of the Nazis (outside the government type.)

Yes, the look is inferior.

Do you even Sustained Burn, bro? DYEL pirates can't do that shit, and they can't tank anything anti-armor either. Until you get bad enough to own a few destroyers or a light cruiser, pirates are a real threat, but the moment you get real hardware, to say nothing of heavy-blaster-equipped phase ships, they become a pushover.

That's why the best mods are the ones that add pirate capitals.

so is jewing the only way to make dosh?

What exactly is broken in NGO? I don't know Java but I do know C and C++, I can't imagine it would be very hard to fix it up as long as it's small stuff. However if it's systems and mechanics that need reworking, I'd rather just make my own mod.

what should I look for in a planet to settle?
also, how do I get officers for my ships?

hire them from planets or bases

Hell no. Max out the salvaging skill branch and build up fleets of d-ships that cost next to nothing to maintain. Just remember to scuttle or sell those with degraded engines and save up for those restore costs when you finally nab something THAT useful.

Make it far enough outside the bubble and you'll be finding ONSLAUGHTS and battlecruisers, sometimes completely intact. And make sure you've salvaged enough shepherds/sal.rigs beforehand (3).

Or you could run missions like a good little NPC until your payouts are enough to field a small navy - just be sure to use sensors and be nimble.

think about the biomes we have here on earth, if a planet is like one of them (terran, terran eccentric, desert, arid, tundra, jungle, ocean) then they're most likely to be good and worth colonizing. note that if a resource DIDN'T appear during the sruvey it means it's not present, trace volatiles which gives -1 still allows you to mine volatile but no pop-up means you can't mine it at all there.

Ship design/weapons?

weird thing is, this never happened to warband...

what are essential skills to put on my character? salvage is very important is what i gathered from last thread.
anything else is essential?
are all builds viable? or will i be fucked over if i don't invest correctly?

Best mods for challenge?

Attached: 1564924195038.gif (595x510, 29K)

in general prioritize fleet upgrades over combat upgrades. Specifically the ones that gives bonus to ECM and ship speed in combat and reduces supply and fuel consumption.

Attached: skills.png (1300x965, 405K)

>are all builds viable?
yes less or more
some are more than other but fleet composition is also important

Starfarer doesnt really have much to do mang
Major updates are few and far, there really isnt much to discuss

How complicated is this game?

What kinda ships can I make?
Can I make giant hands that grab onto other ships and tear them to pieces?
Because I want to do stuff like that.

Attached: iu.png (1920x1080, 600K)

You can't sadly

I'm having problems figuring out how strong are ships, both mine and hostiles. Every bounty I try to do after the tutorial sequence results in my fleet getting wiped out.

HeyHey People?

Check ship info and armaments they can mount. Anything that can mount medium and heavy guns with a load of small guns is probably a sub capital or capital. One big gun and 2 mediums + small is most likely a cruiser. Then 1 heavy, 1-2 mediums + missiles is a destroyer. All ships tend to adhere to such power dynamics with some exceptions of ships that are either glass cannons or just memes, like the Vigilance.

if you're starting out then don't do anything higher than 60k.

...What the fuck are you talking about? That's the designs from the original OVA

Like holy shit I can't believe what a fucking poser you are

Have you even watched the original OVA? You are literally pretending to like LOGH to get internet cred points in a singaporean prostitute beating board.

fleet upgrades seems to be carriers focused from this user.
so i should be piloting a carrier as my flagship?
what's a good fleet composition? or where can i read on it?

That's because he probably used images from the LoGH mobile gatcha game
crunchyroll.com/en-gb/anime-news/2017/02/28/browser-based-legend-of-galactic-heroes-game-bids-farewell-to-players

He probably ripped the art straight from the game for the mod.

I mean, how much of a fake fan are you?

Attached: 1506011686986.jpg (1106x1134, 333K)

is this up to date?

some are from games

Not unless you want to be bored out of your mind

>so i should be piloting a carrier as my flagship?
no. skills tell you if they affect your whole fleet or just your personal ship. never take carrier upgrades for yourself except for fighter doctrine

and some are from art not directly captured from anime

>That's the designs from the original OVA
>That's because he probably used images from the LoGH mobile gatcha game
Nigger, come the fuck on. Keep your story straight.
>Fake fan
Yeah man, only true fans play gachashit, everyone else is a fake.

>people like the game, but never had anyone to talk about it because thread would 404
>wtf bros someone played this before Sseth?

is there a way to scan for systems with debris on them?

You literally couldn't tell if the designs where from the original OVA or the 2018 OVA.

At this point, I'd save face by stop posting. You've already outed yourself as a fake fan who takes a contrarian position to get approval on a Australian Wildlife Exploring board.

nigga threads get made when the game gets updated where have you've been

people don't really talk about more niche games unless they got updated or a had a big enough following like SMAC or some shit
people are talking about daggerfall because someone made a mod that makes it so it runs in Unity and it runs a million times smoother than dosbox so it's getting a lot of people playing now

>Doesn't present an argument, just continues screaming
You just admitted they're not from the original, user.

Attached: chars.png (1750x1000, 1.54M)

Actually, I guessed they were from the gatcha, because I assumed the gatcha would have some nice cleaned up portraits that were ready to use in other games.

I couldn't tell the source of the pictures since the gatcha and the later OVA look identical. Which is the point. And the point is that you got caught talking out of your ass like an idiot and embarassed yourself.

here

Attached: cards from box set.jpg (600x450, 179K)

the economy in this game is retarded there is no supply and demand needs to be a tab for sector prices rather than what they have currently. also combat is dull

>LoGH cardgame with the boxed set

That's fucking classy

Ignore this combat skill are shit, they aren't worthy when you can pick something that affect your whole fleet

These are the skills you want, the order depends on what you want to do, pick carrier skills if you're actually using carriers

If you want to feel "powerful and blow stuff personally" you pick up late-game weapons and ships (fuck, you can solo whole fleets with any phase ship), no waste your limited skill point in something that won't help your fleet, like I said, learn to build ships, scrub

that was shit bait, but you got me to reply. enjoy

I would consider blowing up 80% of the enemy fleet yourself to be “helping”
>b-but I can do that myself
sure you can
just like the other user said, the same logic applies to picking fleetwide buffs: both are a buff to already optimal builds, you don’t “need” them

>blow it from your ass

Attached: No joke.jpg (500x375, 47K)

Lads, tell me about the mods. What are the must haves?

Who are you quoting?

nexerelin, ship and weapons pack, and arsenal expansion are considered the base mods to always use. BRDY and Diable are considered to be pretty gud, the other faction mods are personal preference.

>I would consider blowing up 80% of the enemy fleet yourself to be “helping”
That's the point, you don't need skills for that, a vanilla hammerhead can do that, you just need the right weapons

Benis :DD

>arsenal expansion
not underworld

to be honest you don't need any skills then

>tfw you have a harpoon equipped Hammerhead with expanded missle racks
You've gotta enjoy the simple things in life

niggers

yea, the player doesn't need skills, but the AI can be retarded and needs all the help it can it to not kill itself

which mods shoudl i get to make it better? right now i mtryign archeon order. is it good? if not what should i get instead.

All you need is the homeworld mod, someone please update the homeworld mod.

So when I first get into an unexplored star system, is it worth poking around anywhere besides any planets or anything else that pops up on my map? What I mean is, can worthwhile stuff spawn that won't show up on the map or am I good just backing out if nothing pops up immediately?

the ai works decently as long as you chain escorts by role and spearhead the formation yourself desu

How do you deal with larger space stations? Don't have access to actual battleships yet and I can't break them with just cruisers.

Unholy amounts of missle spam with a couple sunders for good measure.

The combat is super boring, I'm just a fat slug that shoots laser...

Depends on the station, you can try throwing more fighter wings at them and eventually the bomber wings will bring them down. If you can deal with whatever ships are around stations first you can try to rush in yourself with reapers if shields go down on one side. Reapers are great because the splash damage can take out chunks of the station if you hit the openings between shields.

Is there a comprehensive list of all the ships divided into tiers and such? I'm completely lost on what is what, i just scrape up anything from salvaging but i kinda want to make a fast fleet for hit n runs

Attached: 1559576715102.jpg (810x1080, 139K)

get a conquest. They're pretty common and while they don't have the armor or shield to knifefight the 2 large/medium ballistic on each side +2 off-bore large missile slots is enough to crack tier 1 and 2 stations with support

in game codex

this desu we are still in the comfy Yea Forums stage

by tier you mean how good?
there was thread in the forums with a tier list if I remember correctly

WHICH MODS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS GAME

>fast fleet for hit n runs
High tech, phase ships and some midline ships mostly with high maneuvering jets should fill that role. Keeping a high burn level (9+) will also allow your fleet to move around quickly out of combat.

Try Arsenal Expansion, Disassemble Reassemble, Nexerelin, Ship and Weapon Pack, and Underworld. Then add whatever faction mod you think looks cool if its updated to 0.9 or 0.9.1.

Can someone explain to me what the hell I'm even looking at?

Why this game is not on Steam?

the game is set in the future, it's called realism

who this

>5 weapon groups
Press 1-5 to switch between them, you can select different groups for weapons and press Auto for basic weapon organization.
>Autofire status
Determines if you want them to fire for you or not. Good on PD, not for everything unless you like to build up flux and essentially overheat. Ctrl+# lets you toggle auto-fire mid-combat
>Group #
Lets you know how much flux weapons build and allows you to switch between having weapons fire at the same time manually or one at a time which is ideal for some missiles to conserve ammo.

vanilla is fine, but if you really want one go for ship/weapon pack

It's never dead so long as there's people to play it.
Also the most apt description of it is Battlefield 2142 II with added space battles.

Should I be getting a bigger boat or looking for colonies? I feel like I'm being punished for exploring because of all the fuel and supply consumption.

can I fit more than 2 fighter squadrons on my carrier?

>scam citizen general

Attached: fraud.jpg (960x720, 346K)

it depends on the hull, it tells you how many fighter bays it has.

Depends on the carrier. Most carriers have 2 or more fighter bays, Converted hangar will only offer you one.

It's fun to laugh at them. It's also the Elite Dangerous general too.

Attached: brap.gif (354x276, 173K)

No, fuck you, embarrassing tryhard.

>Converted hangar
how do I do this? is a fighter heavy fleet even reliable?

it’s a hullmod, you buy it at stations or eventually salvage it

carrier spam is probably the most braindead winning strat. it just works

you want real carriers for that tho

>Exploration contract
>Thing is "located far from the center of x system"

Attached: 1525654024424.gif (600x400, 175K)

Fighter spam is reliable, hangar isn't necessary but can be fun. Ships without normal fighter bays can get the converted hangar hullmod. Its unlocked in one of the fighter skills that applies to the fleet, you can also find them in markets. Converted hangars have a penalty making fighter LPCs cost more ordnance points and more vulnearble to damage. You can ignore most of the penalty by using escort wings or bombers to avoid fighters dying early.

Once I gave some Hammerheads Xyphos wings, a couple Hypervelocity Drivers or one with a Heavy Mauler. The fighters stays back so it rarely dies, acting as a pair of 0 flux Ion Beams and Burst PDs. But it isn't like you need them, a lot of the time it isn't optimal but I mess with it anyway.

You should have stepped your game up then faggot

When should I start thinking about starting a colony? I cant find anything other than desert and barren worlds.

sometimes ya gotta go far out to get something good

Whenever you want and can afford to. After you find a nice system, learn several ship/weapon blueprints and have a couple million credits to spend you're good to go. When you do you should get another thousand or two crew members so you don't go undermanned in your fleet. Depending on your luck you will end up surveying a dozen systems closest to the core worlds to find one that ideally have habitable worlds with enough resources to dip into every commodity export. Otherwise you might have to settle for worlds in Penelope's Star or something.

here's your (you), faggot

Attached: 1528853069022.gif (202x150, 456K)

In the base game, how the hell do I crack stations?

Just shoot it until it dies. Abuse the parts the shields can't cover, then throw more reapers at it. Add fighter wings if you have to, sometimes a starfortress will require some cruisers to take damage to bring down.

motherfucker, can you spend a minute of your time to sit down and process information instead of making a Yea Forums post?

Magnus did nothing wrong

Goal is to have at least two low hazard planets in one system that can cover all needs (metal, transplutonics, volatiles, organics, food). The more planets you have in one system the more and larger patrol fleets you get so you don't have to babysit as much.

A few ships with 0.6 flux/dam shields plus hardened shields and captains with whatever the shield skill is to tank and carriers with Daggers set to escort each other so they launch coordinated strikes.

Oh, and a few wings of escort fighters with flares.

No, but the modders there can answer the questions. No one here knows shit about modding SS

Yes that is ridicolous. Even "in the heart of the system" can be a dozens of map squares wide area. This reason i why I always fully read the job description before accepting. If it's not in an asteroid field, around a warp point or around a planet, into the trash it goes.

It's not broken, just the ship prices don't fit vanilla balance anymore. The main issue is how OP everything is.

>can be a dozens of map squares wide area
what? heart of the system means just around the sun. far reaches is about a 4x4 grid around the sun

is this a savescum kind of game? like you meet a mighty oponent who wrecks your shit, you load and avoid the fight?

ok what the flying fuck, i just started my first colony and five minutes later the pirate armada bum fucks it out of existance as well as my fleet which tried futilly to defend it. Yeah good luck, newfag.

No need for luck, archives are filled plenty with Starsector through various searching means, whether hash or the two different names.
You on the other hand, a larp. Don't make claims you have no evidence to back up with zoomer.

Do not waste a single skill point in anything in the industry line. Do not waste points on fighters or bombers. AI captains make fine carrier captains.

Make armor and structure upgrades your first skill point investment.

After that you can do whatever, but that first step will make the early game much more tolerable by increasing your effective hp by 50% and allowing you to take on bigger enemies by yourself.

You can kill eagles in your wolf or lasher if you l2p.

Early game bounties are a great source of easy funding. Just remember to fuck off before engaging if the fleet looks too big for you to tackle.

Early game crutch weapon of choice are sabot missiles. Use them yourself to get the opening you want.

Spammy kinetic weapons are a waste on your own ship. Put them on your ai vessels to pressure enemy flux and them swoop in to make decisive strikes.

Trusting AI to make good choices with torpedoes always ends badly. They can and will kill friendlies or shoot them into low flux shields.

Youre dumb, stop posting. Industry is pointless flavor.

Did NGO get removed from the forums? I can't find it anywhere.

>can't tell who is actually the dumb and wrong one is

People are pretty stupid. Why wouldn't you want space Nazi's in your game to shoot at if you hate them? How is having another optinal potential enemy faction that is detestable to you not a good thing?

Industry skills are entirely logistical or scavenging related. All it does it help you make money a little bit faster. If you learn to play the skills are dead weight and don't help your fleet 99% of the time.

Fleet upkeep is not a big deal.

>using ships with d mods
>being such a dumbfuck that you can't figure out how to fund a fleet without industry skills

How about you learn to play and then come back.

>If you learn to play the skills are dead weight and don't help your fleet 99% of the time.
t. just shitposting after flying around with the tutorial fleet for half an hour

Please tell me more!

>spending nonzero sums on refurbishing a ship
Fuck off retard.

>taking damage significant enough to require serious repairs.
>damage thst could have been avoided if he had invested in combat skills instead of industry, and been using ships that were not crippled.
You're dumb and bad. Stop posting.

Anybody can be rolling in credit quickly. Once that happens it doesn't matter how much supplies cost. You just bring more if you think you will need them.

>Anybody can be rolling in credit quickly.
And this doesn't happen unless you put points in industry. Stop playing shit mods with overpowered ships.

>mod maker has to put in extra work because the people in charge of the forum are giant fucking babies

Friendly reminder that Carriers are the best ships

I have played this game much longer and at a higher level than you, clearly. Industry skills are a pointless novelty. Spending a single skill point for an early game influx of credits is a dumb and bad investment, when you can simply be more cautious.

Again, you need to stop posting.

>taking damage significant enough to require serious repairs.
Once again, go play more than the tutorial. You're completely retarded and bad at this game if you think armor damage is completely avoidable with muh skillz.

>He doesn't run salvage and exploration missions
I pity you all

Wrong. It is easy if you experiment and learn how to play, which is something you never did.

Learn how to outrun fleets by baiting them into solar radiation/terrain. It's pretty simply, the AI pathfinding is pretty basic.

Then, early in the game, get together a salvage fleet with as high burn as you can manage, then go hunting for danger beacons. Drop in, let everything in the in the system aggro onto you, drag them along until they're all clumped together, lead them as far away from useful salvage spots as you can, then haul ass away from them. You'll have plenty of time to salvage and survey a good chunk of the system, and in High danger systems, that means millions of credits, blueprints, weapons, colony upgrades, etc.

Yes.

Basically you are admiring that you are bad at the game and can't get ahead without industry skill crutch. That's what this boils down to. That's fine. It's there for that reason. As a crutch for retards.

Meanwhile, combat skills actually affect the gameplay portion of the game, which is what we are all here for.

>Spending a single skill point for an early game influx of credits is a dumb and bad investment, when you can simply be more cautious.
Except that's completely wrong, you drooling retard. Do you even know how the repair mechanic works in this game? Are you gonna sit your fleet down and wait for CR to recover for a month? Are you gonna fly across the map back to civilization after fighting one (1) [Redacted] fleet because you're about to piss away 1000+ supplies on repairs?
>just dodge the shots lmao
Clearly you haven't played this game. Stop being bad and shield tank everything like a retard. It doesn't work in endgame.

It's YOU who needs to stop posting. You're staggeringly bad and you lack even the cursory understanding of this game.

>you are bad at the game and can't get ahead without industry skill crutch
>he need combat skills crutch
This is comedy

>Meanwhile, combat skills actually affect the gameplay portion of the game,
Combat skills are worthless and have even less impact on ship combat than the other skill trees. It's fucking amazing how you continue to bare your retardation before everyone without a hint of self awareness or shame.

What's wrong with selling black-market bought shit to pirates and terrorists? I'm sitting right now at 1.5 million space coins, all made through charging them mad prices for fuel and goods

Industry has more impact on combat than combat tree does. Combat is nothing but "your ship gets marginally better at shooting" skills. The other trees either affect your entire fleet's combat performance or add to strategic longevity, which lets you engage in more combat and shoot more shit.
That 'muh combat' retard is just a smoothbrained moron writing off a useful tree because it's labeled as "industry."

What the fuck happened to the comfy starsector threads

It suffers from the usual slavic bias. They're protected by indestructible slavisium plating and fire slav magic fireworks with no realistic damage weaknesses.

how does mothballing work? i get that you dont get cargo capcity and it cost supply to unmothball but do they cost anything else? like fuel or blowing up cause not combat ready.

are there any faction mods that are cool without being overtuned?

It saves maintenance but still costs fuel and drops CR to 50%

if you salvage a ship the game tries to make it combat ready, taking crew and supplies. If you get a huge ship then odds are you don't have the current crew to man it so everyone gets undercrewed and it eats supplies like crazy. You mothball if you get a ship you want to use later but can't currently support and need to bring back to port

Attached: Appro.jpg (887x722, 134K)

what does crash mothball mean? seems like it just means the ships that were going to get killed still get killed in an attack. probably using it wrong.

Along with what others said, mothballed ships don't suffer from critical malfunctions but can't use systems or shields, when you're trying to escape from a fleet.
A mothballed ship may have a better chance of running than a 0 CR ship in virtue of engines not dying every second and no internal explosions slowly killing it

Exploran' the deep space with comfy music.
youtu.be/VTD9YHlzbzc

I'm a carrierfag, will I enjoy this game?

Basically You mothball ships with low CR to make them prioritize keeping the ship afloat with no malfunctions at the cost of being unable to fight back. Ideally you should have some ships around escorting it to escape together.

I am still new to the game, some of the combat perks look really good, are they really that good or is there a catch?

I would buy this game but why are the ships so blurry and ugly?

I always found it strange that riding the hyperspace storms made your fuel consumption skyrocket.

what a truly epic meme

Easier to maintain, move around and escape when things get tough. For the most part its convenient since you have a lower profile, you can also pick your fights near friendly patrols more easily to minimize the danger to your fleet.

its causing mini emergency burns every time you hit a storm

you will fucking love it

This, starsector threads got me into it a couple years ago because of the nice sprites and the shipfu posting, he just made ((((veterans)))) reinstall it and introduced it to newbies, wich is totally ok

Combat perks go a long way to make your flagship a one ship army
You are going to be the driving force behind your fleet in 99% of battles, so it does help a bit. You dont need them to outwin the enemy fleets if you just play smart and git gud so most people prefer to go for fleetwide buffs

How do I gitgud at space combat?

Attached: 1534561396221.jpg (848x398, 35K)

not him but iirc that sun plating thing helps

Depends on what it is
If its a carrier specialized for bombers like Astral or Heron its great, Legion works too
Keep in mind you NEED those carrier skills, all of them to really kick ass with fighters

>literally on the other side of the map
so what? just try to get multiple missions in the same vicinity, with sustained burn it only takes like 20 days at most to reach the very edge. If you're making money thats fine, but scavenging AI cores and blueprints is much more beneficial longrun then trading

I feel the first thing one needs to understand is when not to overextend, really thats gonna be what kills you most of the time. Try to stick by your ally ships and back up when youre not
Flux management is key, shields use flux to not just stay up but also generate it when blocking damage. So sometimes its best to take hits to your armor, losing armor doesnt actually cost anything after the fight, thats hull so dont be afraid to take some hits

>Enemy fleet consists of bounty target in carrier and a bunch of phasing stuff
>Kill target but cant kill the rest as they keep phasing around me
How do you deal with this cancer?

Go to the market and then go to colony info, it will show what it sells and what it needs to the right. If there is a relay, click one of the resources to bring up the global market info, and it will show every producer and consumer. Increase your colony size

I would just like to take a moment to say that if you are a modder, and put your mod folder inside another folder of the same name, you deserve castration.

Is it just me or do your ships try to move in as an unit when your tell them to eliminate something and you sit back and watch through the command interface? I notice a lot of stalling by faster ships while they wait until the slow ships catch up and go full unga bunga on the enemy. Or is this a placebo?

Attached: images.jpg (225x225, 13K)

How do I increase my sensor range?

you can't

press 3 on the keyboard

Impact Mitigation, go full damage control and keep them on low tech ships to absorb damage.

High Resolution Sensors hull mod and Sensors skill. Having civilian ships without Militarized Subsystems and having your transponder on will keep your sensor profile larger than your range.

so how long is 1 day? Does time pass at the same speed during combat? What about while you're in hyperspace?
Why doesn't my crew complain if I have no food?

I found a survey ship location, would it be worth checking out?

1 day is 4 time units

Just telling him what he needs.

probe? not really. Survey or mothership absolutly.

Time doesn't flow in combat iirc, it goes the same in hyperspace. Hyperspace just lets you travel between stars faster, it isn't like going through the warp. Food is for trading, your crew only gets rations found in cases of supplies.

So do I just get ships from scavenging them from fights or is there a place I can buy them?

You can buy them from virtually any planet, click one and hit F then click the "Buy" tab at the top

Download link

You can find derelict ships floating in space, salvage them from battle debris, make them at a colony with heavy industry and learning the DRM protected chips, or just buy them at a market.

Is this really a problem? If anything, you should be happy a game you like is being discussed on Yea Forums and in a midly civil manner.

Random or vanilla systems, lads?

>hit F then click the "Buy" tab at the top
Am I retarded and somehow missed that the entire time? I never say a single prompt for the ship store.

Vanilla

Random

vanilla nexerelin with prism freeport

So what are the downsides of buying a metric fuckton of those puny oil tanker ships that can each carry 300 fuel but only consume 0.1 supplies a day?

you can't do prism freeport without random

Fleet ship limit unless you increase it in settings.json

> trying to get to a pirate planet to deliver 200k worth of quest material
> entire planet is surrounded by hostile pirate fleets who attack me the moment they see me

DRUUUUUUUUUUUUUGS

Attached: High Af.png (332x290, 141K)

yes you can. I'm doing it right now

Turn off your transponders dingus. Pirates dont give a shit about if its off. But make sure you turn if off out of detection range or out of system.

I did do that and they still went for me the moment their scanners detect me

Am i just being a fucking brainlet? I'm thinking of going dark and trying to fly around behind them to get to the planet

Attached: 1538448035941.jpg (400x400, 25K)

What's the best place to scavenge? I can't seem to find these things anywhere.

Attached: 1488086568634.gif (245x300, 744K)

I mean thats what you get for trusting pirates. You can always just wait for them to leave

there could be an in system structure that is extending their sight, turn it off or convert it for yourself if they already want a piece of your ass, other then that you are just going to have to try to wait or approach from an asteroid belt while going slow

You also need to keep in mind fleets REMEMBER what your fleet is regardless of transponders if they saw you before recently. This is especially true if you actually killed any pirate fleets nearby.

Alternatively if your fleet has a big enough
chad murder dick, they step aside and run away.

any mission that sends you to a probe/derelict ship/abandoned base of some kind, probes have a chance of chain directing you to more places, derelict ships are generally in an area with a bunch of other ships or can also direct you to something valuable as well, bases just have loads of stuff in them, lots of materials but also usually blueprints or weapons

>Managed to get my first battleship by salvaging one from bounty target
>Paragon, "only" increased maintenance
How bad will it fuck me over? Is it worth using it as my new flagship compared to a Astral carrier?

Simple, you make your own scrap.

Attached: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.jpg (877x564, 165K)

which ships should I keep from the first salvage quest?

>Start playing the game
>Immediately find two corrupted nanoforges and a Syncrotron Core
I have no fucking clue what any of this stuff is for.

D-Mods arent a bad thing if it doesnt feel like it affects you. if thats the case its beneficial cuse it cost less to deploy so you can use more ships.

Also paragons are slow pieces of shit, but are more or less invincible.

Attached: screenshot023.png (1920x1080, 2.58M)

If something is in the "outer reaches" of a system is that actually the case? It's not just next to a planet?

you'll probably need the neutrino detector to find it unless you want to take forever

>Paragon
>increased maintenance
A bit expensive, but at least it is still 100% when it comes to fights. Its strong enough to mow through station bounties to pay for the repair. You can take on just about anything with a couple Paragons and Astrals, one of each is a big deal.

Bless RNG

So are cargo freighters and tankers pretty much required for any fleet? Feel like buying some freighters early is a good purchase since it helps you trade and scavenge

good approach for any game is to keep one of each thing you find and sell the rest, until you figure out what you want

you can store things for free on abandoned stations, like the one in one of the first sectors from tutorial

didnt mean to reply

>when you get yeeted away from a pursuing pirate fleet by a hyperspace storm
cy@

Can you store ships?

>trade
trading is a noob trap in this game, freighters are mainly for hauling supplies and blueprints

>want to fly frigate
>want to use frigates in general
>enemy fleet has a Doom or T3 station
Why the fuck are teleporting mines a thing
They add absolutely nothing to the game, while making an entire class of ships basically unusable due to how absurdly overpowered they are against frigates

so
freighters are still a good buy early game

yes, same way you purchase/sell them, there's a store tab, never store things on faction planets, only on yours or abandoned stations, you pay % of cargo worth per month otherwise

>start new game
>shadowyards immediately sends a fuckoff hueg fleet to a pirate base in the system
>join the battle with my single wolf
>do nothing while shadowyards steamrolls the base
>instantly gain a shitload of standing with shadowyards
>also gain a big pile of shit to salvage

>doom
literally any carrier will annihilate a doom

>cheating with mods
yikes

hey so if you over reach and run out of fuel and supplies with no inhabitated ports in reach what do you do?

>being a moralcuck

which is why we use 5 of them

Attached: 1560112506940.png (1280x1280, 567K)

absolutely, especially if you salvage as you don't want to spend 400 fuel there and back and not be able to haul everything to the store

distress beacon
also probably die

Distress call on the skill bar. Hope a friendly responds and not a pirate fleet.

you can pop into a system before you completely run out and if there are pirates it's a bunch of free stuff and if theres debris fields that works too

technology progressed until even an angry shitposting retard could 3D print a DIY plant destroying warhead, and then the obvious thing happened

>not sending distress signals for free pirate scrap

hey it worked paid 20k for like 300 fuel and 5 supply
wonder what happens if you dont pay?
at least it wasnt pirates

Bullying pirates is all well and good, but if you're running dry odds are your CR is dogshit and your ships'll fall apart before they can even shoot you.

Think you just lose faction rep.

>You were the ancient evil sealed away for centuries all along

Attached: 1328847446369.jpg (225x225, 7K)

>salavage a battleship early on
>Nearly run out of fuel and supplies just getting it back to corvus
>Ravage the sector with my unstoppable flagship

>Meet my end fighting off 3 fleets of ambushing pirates

We were going to have everything lads....

I didn't listen to sseth and went after a distress signal and found a nanoforge, based RNG

Attached: portrait_pirate03.png (128x128, 42K)

doesn't let me turn it on

Where can I find this?

>find expanded Missle Racks
>Legion XIV can fit a Cyclone Reaper Launcher
Not sure if good idea consider the OP cost, but oh man is it tempting.

Use hammer barrages instead, they fire faster and have more ammo. Cyclones are overkill and they reload slowly.

I love missile massacre in games but here I don't trust it, I fuck up too much and end up without ammo with half the enemies still alive.
