I think the issue is that the framerate is constant (shutup) for the game so it doesn't have that eerie feeling you get from the movie where they raise it when he teleports.

This is used both in the regular super dash, and in Dragon Rush, and you need it for combo extensions as well, and it’s how the characters fly into battle during transitions. It’s also how all characters Dash. Notice how there’s no run animations?

If a character can’t fly, like, normally and conventionally fly a la DBZ style. It’s very likely they won’t get added. GT Goku took Kid Goku’s spot for that reason alone. Even though Reverse Kamehameha is part of his moveset, and the Nimbus Cloud would have been relatively easy to have replace the standard SD animation. The characters being able to fly canonically is basically a necessity given the design pipeline of the game. So, give up on characters that canonically cannot Fly.

You can replace 17 with whoever you want, there are more than enough point characters in this game to kill a Namekian with. SSJ goku is solid all around and his assist is the swiss army knife of mixup, neutral, and combo utility. Tien is solid as anchor, and he has enough to not make him a lost cause when he's on his own. Shotgun/neo tribeam is the game stealer, and if you remember to utilize his command grab and chiaotzu psychokinesis he can pick up any slack left by his downed teammtes. Also he's secondary beam assist, that's way easier to combo with.
