I got the all in one last year and got the pack from earlier this year in it so I'm guessing so, but there's no word on whether or not we're getting a second season pass or whatever yet so probably just wait till closer to release if you're not interested in the other DLC characters.

The question now, I suppose, is who the next five characters will be? Considering they probably won't be released until November of this year, I have a feeling that they will be more characters with brand new spritework. On top of that, BB, P4A, and UNiB all have a good selection of characters at this point, so I could see the devs wanting to flesh out the other sectors of the roster. As well, if the Ultimax issue hasn't been sorted out at this point for P4A, I don't think it will ever be.
Anyhow, I can easily see Asuka as a lock of SK, and Saki as the same for AH despite the debacle with the in-game shop.

What makes you think this? We already know Asuka is coming and that means we are almost guaranteed another Arcana character. Real question is what the other spots will be.

When does she show up in RWBY?

She was introduced a few games into the series and quickly became a face of the franchise to the point she arguably outshines the original main character in popularity. She's often picked first for things when you would think Asuka would be, and her being announced for this pack on her own (at least so far, potentially) is a very big example of that.

Additionally her personality is, IMO, inoffensive and pretty cute, but she's the model of the typical Yamato Nadeshiko with very little else to it. Those are usually popular in Japan but considered "bland" here.

tl;dr - latecomer that gained popularity with the Japanese audience and became central to the franchises face, but that didn't quite take off with the western fanbase in the same way

Learn one thing at a time. Familiarize yourself with an aspect of play, then move on to another. Should only take about 20 hours to get good.

Get used to your character's movement, normals, and easy BnB combos (so that you can at least convert into something off a stray hit) in training mode. If you need to, spend some time trying to get comfortable with them in arcade mode or something, since although you won't learn any actual matchup knowledge by playing against the CPU, you will at least learn to get actual conversions off of a moving target.
