Real talk, Mortal Kombat is not good as a fighter. The only thing it has is the shock factor to pull people in and it's legacy from the old ass photoscanned games. It's gameplay is just Street Fighter but without the defensive options.

Honestly, Smash is absolutely a deeper game than Mortal Kombat. At least with Ultimate, you have more options from neutral than rushdown play, but if you try and do anything but rushdown in MK, you get hard punished.
