Here's a setup guide if you're computer illiterate
Also when making your character DO NOT USE the premade classes. They suck. Make a custom class.
>Select all Unofficial Fixes
Does it matter much If I already installed without checking those, or should I reinstall?
Yes you should reinstall. They fix a bunch of stuff in the game files which DFU uses.
I wanna rename the custom class I made, is there an ini file I can edit or something?
I believe saves are stored under appdata/locallow/daggerfallunity/. Should be fairly easy to edit it there if you find the correct file.
As a bonus you can also find settings.ini in that folder which has the option to turn on smaller dungeon generation. It's experimental but has been working fine for me and seems to cut down the time spent in dungeons which is nice.
it wasn't a good game 30 years ago and it isn't a good game now
It's so nice of you to remind us in every thread.
So if I'm not mistaken, I can extract one of these sprites, edit it, name it the same as a sprite I was to replace, and it should be that easy to make new clothes right? It is actually that easy?
I'm no artist, but I kinda want to try dicking around with that kind of thing.
dfworkshop.net
Here's a page on how the paperdoll works. Other modding pages and tutorials might also be useful. Simple texture replacements should be fairly easy to do.
Rad, thanks user. I need to make more dumb slutty bikini armor
ah yep found it, cheers user. Now I just need 150k more gold and I can get my ship.
Does it have goofy voices like Oblivion?
Whoever voices the guards in Oblivion still makes me laugh just hearing him.
Shit game, Morrowind is the only good one in the entire franchise
Is there any tangible difference between regions other than the colour of the ground and type of trees? I've put many hours in so far but have never bothered leaving Daggerfall.
The only voiced line outside of cutscenes is
>HALT!
>HALT!
>HALT!
Which you'll be hearing a lot.
Why are Morrowind niggers so defensive?
No, the only reason to leave regions is for the main quest, other than that and bloating the game there's no point
Dungeons usually look different and buildings, amount of animals/types.
Why are you? You were too much of a pussy to even reply to me, you passive aggressive faggot.
he's right though
Stop shitting up the thread, you're as bad as each other. If you want to shitpost about which TES game sucks ass more, start your own thread.
>wahwah stop pointing out the truth to me
Also, not your hugbox.
And yet the interest and thread persists?
I'm curious, why is it that everybody keeps posting this Unity version of Daggerfall? Does it have any major improvements that cause it to be more playable and well liked than the original? I'm just surprised in its surge of popularity and wondering if the Unity version warrants me spending time in the game again.
yes, precisely. it's how I gave my redguard-elf mutt post-preg tits and knife ears.
It's more stable and less buggy than the DosBox version, also I can run it without having to change the screen settings every time and without hearing a random screech I can't be assed to fix.
By all means critique the game if you want but your low-effort, low-IQ shitposts can fuck off
Or are you too braindead to construct a cohesive argument beyond ad hominems and projection?
Daggerfall is Diablo 1
Morrowind is Diablo 2
nice
Wanna upload it somewhere?
diablo isnt that bad user
Its not the same series either
It is a good game, you're just bad at it
>seems to cut down the time spent in dungeons which is nice.
But it's Daggerfall. All your time is spent in dungeons.
>I equipped a different sword, wow such deep gameplay mechanics!
Is Daggerfall Unity the only remake that's objectively better in every possible way than the original?
twin snakes
Think I'm gonna put the game on hold until more bugfixes are out. I'm hooked but Every time there's a fucking quest bug it feels like a complete kick in the dick.
>it's not shit, you're just bad at it!
Brainlet argument
Refute these arguments, big guy
>huge world with no incentive to visit 99% of it
>premade classes are shit and there's no point to pick them over a custom class unless you want to gimp yourself
>no viable mana regen outside of absorb magic
>dungeons are just patched together abominations that all look the same and boil down to pixel hunting switches that could open anything on the map, as well as looking for passages on the map you haven't went through yet
>quests are mmo tier "kill x things, find x item", latter being especially shitty because it has to be the specific item from the dungeon
>tons of bugs like quests breaking, monsters clipping etc
>empty world that only exists to be skipped over with fast travel
>cities consist of 90% residences you won't ever enter except for a few quests that waste your time running past to get to shops and guilds
>>/vg/
The point was that we don't care if you don't like the game. I like it very much despite all of its flaws and I'm excited to see what sorts of mods turn up since the possibilities are pretty much endless.
This is actually a pretty good comparison. Both D1 and D2 are awesome games in their own right and D2 is very unlike D1 despite being a sequel.
God boomers deserve cancer. See:
made her 7 or 8 years ago, forgot how many mods I made. it's a breton-elf mutt btw, sporting a bush. hard to make body shape mods without making the clothes/armor fit weird (or not at all).
unfortunately the original files are on my laptop, but hopefully you can get what you need directly from this screenshot since it's a png.
a.uguu.se
Nice.
Less time spent in one dungeon means I can do more of them before I need a break. Wandering around for hours and getting one dungeon done is kinda tiresome.
Did you install the unofficial fixes included in DaggerfallSetup? I personally haven't had a single quest bug out in this newest version of DFU.
I like the game too, but it is pretty shitty and I don't see it getting fixed anytime soon because all the mods are gonna boil down to "duhgh sex and porn" instead of fixing what's actually wrong with the game.
>inb4 just make mods yourself
I would if I knew how
nice
I see a lot of graphical improvements but they manage to make the game not garbage?
The game is a dungeon crawler RPG in the vein of classic D&D
That might not appeal to some people but it does to others
The dungeons are fine and varied enough to make for tense and interesting trips within so long as you are prepared
The quests have enough flavour text to make it interesting and the main gameplay is going into the Dungeon just like in Diablo 1&2
The world has lots of detail anyways and the different regions are nice to have if you want to set up shop somewhere else
Lack of mana regen if nbd, just get gud
You can always rest at any time and make mana regen potions at a potion maker
The entire point is to get yourself equipped before heading into the dungeon
Where can I sell books for a decent price? I have low rep among scholars so most of them won't even talk to me.
I dont think there is much wrong with the core gameplay besides the bugs
People want Daggerfall to be Morrowind, but even Morrowind suffers from a lot of glaring issues that have still not been “fixed”
Modders should focus on expanding what is good about Daggerfall rather than trying to turn it into a totally different game
That is expanding the variety of play styles/character option, better combat and AI (the Unity AI improvements already make a huge difference) and maybe more “rewards” like new properties, new high level items, maybe even becoming lord of a fiefdom
To me id like to see Daggerfall come even closer to the AD&D ideal
I enjoy dungeon crawling in other games, just not in Daggerfall. It's fun for the first few hours, then it just gets repetitive and tedious and feels more like work.
You're lying to yourself if you think they're actually varied, I'd take hand made fixed dungeons over randomly generated ones anytime, but that would require actual work, I guess.
>because all the mods are gonna boil down to "duhgh sex and porn"
That's the Yea Forums approach to things. From what I can tell the actual modding community for DFU is quite different. There are already a couple interesting mods and people definitely are aware of things wrong in the game.
>I would if I knew how
Do you have any programming experience? Unity is pretty easy to pick up if you do and there's already some resources to make modding easier.
It'll take some time for actual major gameplay overhaul mods to get made. The project is in that sense still in an early state. There some mods out already like Warm Ashes that is an attempt to add more gameplay content to the overworld.
forums.dfworkshop.net
There are hand crafted ones for the main quest and all of them are gigantic and really well made
The generic dungeons are usually good as well and I do enjoy them for the enemy variety and challenge
It doesn't matter to me if I've seen a particular section before in another dungeon because it makes the experience a lot easier as a “veteran” Adventurer and makes solving puzzles easier since you've seen them before.
For me its all about building up your character, trying out new play styles, and going for adventures around the world.
>Maces do more damage to skeletons.
Is this too much to ask? Why do none of the later Elder Scrolls games make even the most basic attempts at being actual RPGs.
Ive tried this mod for a few days and its really cool
I stumbled upon a castle being sieged and then blasted the attackers with my AOE poison clouds before climbing the walls
My hope is to see an Orc siege so I can re-create the battle of Helms Deep
Shit I was putting that mod off for awhile, gonna install after I finish this dungeon quest though.
huh. visual improvements are nice and all, but I may just have to reinstall dear old daggerfall if content is being created now.
I'm expecting hand-crafted dungeon mods to start popping up, personally.
This. The reason people are getting so excited about this project in particular is that while Daggerfall's gameplay is pretty great the game's real drawbacks are all to do with the amount of actual content and variety vs. the world size. This is something for which there is nearly unlimited modding potential, and as long as there is a consistently engaged community I don't see why we won't get a genuinely fantastic game a couple of years down the line.
Yeah there's a big quest pack already released with likely lots more to follow.
Newbie here to Daggerfall: What exactly is the point of doing quests if the gold rewards are so low and improving skills is done by using them (rather than xp)?
Playing a magic-user of some sort is always the best in the Elder Scrolls games and the highlight of them for me (until Skyrim nerfed Magic)
Even a spellsword type hybrid is really fun, right now my current PC is an “evil” mage type, I only wish summoning existed on this game aside from that one Daedra artifact so I can RP a daedra worshipping conjurer
Also there is flavour text about Atronarchy classes in the mages guild so Id hope for a mod that adds the ability to create/summon one of the four Atronarch types
Faction rep and getting the locations for dungeons
To gain reputation with a faction
To get new locations marked on your map (the other main way is raiding graveyards and hoping for a map to drop in the loot)
I dunno man, Twin Snakes played better, but I actually prefer the janky aesthetics of the OG one, plus some of the cutscenes in Twin Snakes are utterly retarded
Hopefully if people start making new sprites and mobs they try keeping them around the same resolution as the vanilla ones.
New varieties are great, but nobody wants a bunch of shitty upscales mixing together from different artists
I think it might even be possible to add new stuff to the procedural generation of dungeons. I think procgen has a lot of potential but Daggerfall is mostly using a very basic bitch algorithm to generate its dungeons (and the overworld). Though a lot of that is due to the game being over 20 years old.
I can't see that happening honestly. There are just too many in the game to make it worthwhile.
I'm hoping that eventually we can transition to full 3D but the performance impact that will probably have is... well it makes it unlikely.
Personally while there are still a few graphical gpas left to fill I think modders should concentrate on adding new content to the game, that's where the work needs to be done to get it playable.
Full 3d is definitely possible. I believe the main reason that 3d trees mod runs like ass because there's absolutely no optimization in place which means you're potentially rendering hundreds if not thousands of high detail trees at once.
3d characters will require a lot of work, not just in the models and animations but also implementing them to work with the existing mechanics.
More of this
soon brother
Tried it for a bit and it's a pretty good conversion, only complaints so far are that the 2D sprites don't rotate vertically making them practically disappear if you look down at them and that the lighting needs some rebalancing (lighting a torch just makes shit turn white).
> why is it that everybody keeps posting this Unity version of Daggerfall
Because it's new and helps ease kiddies into the game with all those modern update features like click to attack
This is really hot
The amount of times I jerked it to the Daggerfall paperdoll in panties, or roleplayed not wearing panties are countless
Where's the cocks?
You can edit your character's bio in your saves data in LocalLow in your %appdata% folder.
How would one go about making custom dungeons? Do I need to use the block prefabs or the simple hallways segment ones for random ones?
zombies nerf mod fucking when?
in your ass
>that zombie damage
Explains why I got oneshot by the first one I met.
Agility and Luck seem near useless if the monsters actually get that high numbers of them. Since your agi and luck are compared against the enemy's on the hit roll.
Same place where the vaginas are, they're non-existent.
It's a shit game that people pretend to like because it's old.
>be war axe nord nigger
>pussy ass guard in the distance whispers something my direction
>know this is about that unpaid loan and dozen peasants I killed
>he starts swinging his sword, shield in hand
>retaliate with my 87 strength & basic steel war axe
>he fucking explodes on first impact
This is such a massive difference to Oblivion's relentless tank guards, Daggerfall's might as well be civilians with wooden swords.
God I hate zombies
Especially since they appear at such low level and just tank a ton of hits
The disease chance makes it even worse
At least Mummies die fairly quickly especially to fire, idk how to kill zombs quickly and efficiently
Is there somewhere that shows what different enemies are weak to?
From my own game time it seems that humans and most animals besides the insects are weak to poison, sea creatures are weak to shock, elemental atronarch/daedra are weak to their opposite element, and Vampires/mummies are weak to fire
Naw its fun, if you enjoyed classic Diablo or old school dungeon crawlers/blobbers like Bards Tale/Might&Magic/Wizardry/UltimaUnderworld you'll like Daggerfall
This is from a genre of games that is sorely unrepresented now so its nice to see a classic get a nee face lift
Personally Id REALLY like to see a M&M series remake, especially 6 and 7
A-are these base game sprites?
yes
I'm using a bunch of graphical mods among which the dreams stuff.
Does DFU occasionally freeze for anyone else when you're exiting the game and you have to kill the process?
Idk, i guess it would be possible to use the daggerfall-tools application to build your own from the pre-made blocks, but Id also like to see some new custom dungeons on the scale of the main quest ones which are all excellent
One mod Id like to see is to give the capital cities of the minor provinces some more flavour
Maybe unique buildings and a little care in the design so they stand out a little and aren't totally overshadowed by the Big Three
I kind of want to make a custom dungeon with custom textures/props, put it somewhere in the desert and make it Egyptian themed. Despite the fact that there's scarabs, mummies and a Northern African inspired region, there's a sad lack of overt Egyptian influences in dungeon architecture.
It does and I don't use any large texture replacement mods
I do use some sound and music ones, could be them but its not a big deal since it only happens closing the game
Nice
Why are open spells so expensive to cast?
Increase your Mysticism skill to lower their cost.
Just a friendly reminder to NEVER go to Gallowick and rent a room in The Rat and Stag inn.
Worst fucking tavern in all of Daggerfall. Fuck that place.
The owner was nice to me, though, and helped me with the directions.
If you think those are bad, wait til you find a lich, they literally can't die, have infinite MP and kill you with 2 spells.
Looks like someone forgot to set the traps again.
There is already a Pyramid dungeon eh?
kek
Is there a manual or legend for the color coding if I don't want to figure it out the hard way? It becomes pretty tedious.
>Yea Forums keeps saying Daggerfall is better than Morrowind
>it's better than Arena, but worse than even Oblivion and Skyrim
But is it fun?
For one hour or so
Give me the red pill on this game. Can I get in and playing fairly quickly, does the interface hold up, or are there guides? I'm on the fence right now
>trusting contrarian retards on Yea Forums
generally popular thing is popular for a reason, and old thing has massive glaring flaws that its dick suckers never mention for some reason.
The redpill is that it's shit and an unfinished game. It's fun to mess around for a few hours tho.
Too many young people get overwhelmed playing this game
They don't know what to do without a strict progression guide and become bitter because they make no progress as a result.
Daggerfall is a fantastic game, but its not akin to Baulders Gate or other such RPGs, and the contemporary sort of RPGs that were based off these sorts of highly story driven scripted games.
People complain about “theme park” game design but it seems thats what people want, they want Disney’s Medieval Adventure instead of a brutal and quick thinking experience.

why is every monster in the top 20% of just about every attribute?
Nice projection, bud
I think its lighter the dot, bigger the city but not 100% sure.
Yeah but the wall textures are the same plain stone/bricks that every other dungeon has. Would be nice to see walls with hieroglyphs on it, or the Elder Scrolls version of them. Maybe Daedric runes or something.
Probably because they scale quite differently compared to player characters. For one they don't have skills.
I think so as well after visiting a bunch of towns. It's not well explained.
What's the best way to get daedric weapon?
Grind and level up.
How does the "Steal" button at shops work? Does it check pickpocketing skill?
Does the Unity version have controller support?
what does it mean when one of my skills is blue instead of yellow?
You have something that buffs it beyond its base value.
What is the difference between 100k and 200k ships?
If you set the texture settings to “climate” then the desert (and other) dungeons look a bit more fitting
No it means you've levelled it up recently
SexLab when?
Some are probably bigger and fancier.
Should I just abandon the Main Quest?
Will the emperor send the blades to SUICIDE me and add me to his body count for not destroying evidence that would get him thrown into jail?
Neither Distant Terrain or Enhanced Sky mod seems to work for me. Anyone else had trouble with these? I'm also using Warm Ashes and the Archaeologists but I don't see how those mods would affect them.
I like the fact that you can see in the distance instead of having that mist, makes walking around from city to city more entertaining
Have you tried messing with the priorities?
What the fuck is up with people wanting to play first person RPGs with controllers? You're not the first to ask and I just don't get it.
It's not supported YET but I imagine it will be eventually. Probably through a mod.
>alpha
No thanks. I'm sick of playtesting unfinished software. Let me know when it's finished.
Is there a setting that wipes the dungeon maps after you've left the dungeon?
Sometimes I get a quest to visit a dungeon twice and having the full map of the dungeon actually makes it harder to clear every corner.
Yeah I even tried running them one by one. Turns out the retro rendering mode doesn't mesh well with them for whatever reason. Which sucks because I hate the look of it when it's rendering HD but with old art. It doesn't match at all. At the same time the old sky is kinda terrible and I want to change it. I can probably live without Distant Terrain though. The draw distance is enough at max setting with low render res.
>just want to get high and play daggerfall
>constantly tired even when I take sleeping pills and sleep for 9 hours
>only enough time in the semester for me to pass if I dedicate every hour of every day for the rest of the month to school
>no time for vidya
Its for computer science. I can just drop out and make a good portfolio or something right? This shit sucks man. Why the fuck everything gotta cost fucking money. Why the fuck I need all these pieces of paper to do anything. I just want to make video games and play video games. I wish someone would just start a new country or something.
>people had the same complaints with TES and Bethesda over 20 years ago as they do today

github.com
OK according to this page I should be able to make it work by setting AutomapNumberOfDungeons to 0 under the Map section of the settings.ini. In case anyone else is interested.
Could this be successfully ported over to say PS4?
how long until it's properly playable without gamebreaking bugs?
Now.
You can abandon the main quest and no one will care. I would try to hold onto that package for caius if you ever wish to continue the main quest (provided you haven't spoken to him yet).
I'm playing it for few days already and had zero crashes. There are some minor bugs but nothing gamebreaking. Also mods are great, very refreshing to see the game with better graphics if you played DOS version.
>but worse than even Oblivion and Skyrim
Nah, you actually have a use for gold here. The only real problem is the fuckhuge dungeons that you can only really do once a day before you get tired.
Rest of the problems basically plague every other TES like bugs and unfinished shit.
Everyone hates nords in this game, they treat me worse than a negro, nobody wants to talk to "my kind " and when I asked a woman for work she mockingly replied "wow a nord who wants to work, what a suprise !"
This is a Daggerfall thread, frendo
I just answered his question, I too enjoy Daggerfall.
Something that always puzzled me was when I get a critical failure in D&D and have my own character die it's fun and interesting and I just say "well that's the dice". But in a video game when it happens it pisses me off and I hate randomness. Daggerfall might be the first video game where I'm more in the first mindset then the second one.
Yea if you are an enemy of the empire the blades will come
Have you considered not being a dumb smelly Nord?
>get a quest from the temple to go look for someone in a dungeon
>find him
>bring him back
>"good job user, I feared he'd be dead"
>no reward
>mfw
Nords were being shitheads to eastern Bretons in the past.
they say the same to me and I'm a Breton. I think it's just related to your personality stat.
>+1 rep
god this game is so full of so many fertile sluts it awakens my dick consistently
>tfw high PER, high STR
What else should go into making a CHAD?
>tfw you realize you've been playing the game for the past several hours
Fuck this game scratches my loot and dungeon delving autism just right.
reputation of course, maybe agility because Chad's body is limber enough for the whole Kama Sutra at once
Found another lewd painting.
Why are my skills shown as percentages? Can I just convert that percentage to a number?
I didnt like oblivion or skyrim. Is it possible I'd like daggerfall?
>get one of those "framed" quests
>find evidence to clear my name and supposed to take it to some noblewoman
>none of the NPCs have an option to give directions to her residence
Am I being retarded or is this just another broken quest?
Yes, Oblivion and Skyrim is quite different from Daggerfall.
you can add mods
look i know you're all hyped to be able to play in a resolution where you can actually tell what is going on but the game is by far the one with least content in the series and yes, im also counting skyrim
sure you got the 10000000000000km^2 map but it's like minecraft, 100% rng without reason to go in one place rather than another (unless you have a quest), no unique shops, no unique npc in towns, no unique tasks besides main quest, actually everything that isn't the main quest is exactly like skyrim radiant shit.
everyone shits on skyrim and oblivion autotravel but in daggerfall is mandatory because unlike the other two, there is literally nothing in between marked locations, daggerfall has essentially only 3 places:
-rng town
-rng dungeon
-unique main quest dungeons
and that's it
everybody always spergs on muh streamlined skills in next games when the only unique daggerfall skill is climbing
>muh languages
literally just chance of npc not being hostile with no other gameplay effect
>muh etiquette etc
pointless as if one npc wont talk to you you can just go to the next (identical) one
daggerfall is essentially just a 3d first person roguelike
sometimes the target house is not generated, protip for next time, always save before taking a quest and never pile them up, do them one by one, you never know when one breaks
is there some sort of master list of assets and their file names?
I've been playing Arena for couple of days now, I want to finish this before Daggerfalling.
It's not too bad after getting out of the starting sewers(and going out of them during daytime), but damn these main quest dungeons are hellish mazes. Just did the fucking Labyrinthian and boy does it live to it's name.
Archmage Shalidor can go fuck himself and take hellhounds with him.
Immersive lingerie and sex toys mod when?
Based Arena player
How about you fuck off then?
I hope you're able to finish without any main quest glitches.
What the fuck do I do until I can complete the main quests? The enemies are too powerful for me, for a level 3 main quest.
Just do random fetch quests for every guild in every city until i'm powerful? Is there anything worthwhile I can spend gold on?
Also how long does it take for guards to forget about me? Or do i need to go to jail and do my time?
In theory yes because it's in Unity but I have no idea how much platform specific stuff DFU does and how it actually interacts with the regular Daggerfall content and if that would work at all on a PS4.
sauce?
I think that's because most video games are made in a way where RNG isn't really supposed to fuck you over like that. It's usually your own fault if you die but in Daggerfall it might just be because you got unlucky a couple rolls in a row. You just sort of have to accept it and it weirdly frees you from the annoyance of it.
Say ''please'' and I'll consider.
damn
He will label you a "Deplorable"
DF WORKSHOP DEVS
PLEASE REMOVE GOLD DROPS FROM MOBS
IT MAKES GOLD MAKING INSANELY EASY
Why is fashionfall so fun?
cringe
>daggerfall is essentially just a 3d first person roguelike
Don't you see? That's what makes it so great.
Remember that you need to have the mana pool to be able to absorb the spell you get hit by.
Works great with my steam controller which is just another reason I have it. Every game works with a steam controller.
Someone is creating road mod for df.
Looks promising.
But I like Roguelikes
Do what I do. Take the gold looted from corpses and donate them to temples. Save the rest from selling to your bank
is D.R.E.A.M worth it?
Nice! you do very good sprite work.
Only for the ingame sprite stuff. The music is meh, the sounds don't even work for me, the cutscenes are garbage.
>let me just insert my own "trademark" icon into the game's opening cinematic :^))))
Wow. Bethesda never improved at all.
How do you find paintings?
It's just loot you find. Some shops sell them.
Look to where his cursor is on the right of that pic.
The religious icons? I never realized you could examine them.
Daggerfall feels like an alpha build of a game and it won't get better because all future mods will be porn shit instead of actual content.
>Only for the ingame sprite stuff
Can you download only that?
I don't think so. I've looked for it myself but the download link directed me to one big pack on mega.
you can drop gold into your cart
The vanilla game already has ding dongs and tiddies. If you want some baloney in the sheets either roll a high charisma female (male) or learn to code.
Dont tell that to /vr/, they still shit on it for not being the OG.
What's the fastest way to get millions of gold? I got access to Item Maker and this shit is expensive as hell if you want to buy soul traps and add a lot of effects to the items.
>Let me know when it's finished.
If it were finished, it wouldn't be an Elder Scrolls game. You're never going to play it, or any of them, if you insist with that qualification.
I find them in pawn shops that I rob, many of them are just normal pictures but sometimes you get lewds.
oh well, thank you
Nope, you can't examine religious icons. This is an item called Painting and has a different item icon.
you know Who voices them
>youtube.com
ironically its Haskill's VA who voices sheogorath in morrowind
Time to roll a Necromancer stealth archer Dunmer and claim Daggerfall for Vivec with my Ancestral ghost bro in my spooky castle mansion town full of fuckslaves.

Anyone got a link for the first person textures?
The dropbox got disabled
OKAY WTF IS THIS? I AM FUCKING FUMING RIGHT NOW!
I'm in a goddamned fucking dungeon and I can not get ANY rest. Like wtf? An enemy will spawn like 90% of the time if not more. Most of the time the game won't even give my a SINGLE FUCKING HOUR. I can not regenerate ANY hp or spell points this way. I am fighting nonstop. There is no end, there is no rest. This shit is broken I swear. The sheer amount of bullshit this game throws at you trying to make you hat it is INCREDIBLE. Why am I still playing this trainwreck I don't even like TES wtf
Is daggerfall worh it? I mean, is the world interesting? How is the story / quest? Are they interesting?
Like I'm about to give myself a regen health in the darkness edit in the ini. This is bullshit.
Oh you're playing for the first time? Nice, have some plague in the first 3 minutes of the game dude. No biggie, here's a temple bro. Oh you're poor? Well membership discount. You want in? Yeah? Nice. Oh hey, guess what? We don't sell or make ANY potions in this shithole. So yeeeaaah, you're basically screwed for the rest of the game. Or... maybe rest a lot in dungeons. I hear that works well. FUCK OFF
If you aren't tough enough for it maybe you should go back to Skyrim kid.
>you can actually see the pusy when she casts
damn, real trees makes my game shit itself
anyone?
even without distant terrain
and i don't have a toaster
what do i do once i can't find my quest objective in the dungeon?
do i just leave and let the quest expire?
That's what i did with the find a sapphire quest

save after entering dungeon

type teleport2qspawn, hit enter
if it teleports you, load 2nd save file from inside dungeon and continue playing
if it does not teleport you, load the 1st save outside the dungeon and repeat the process
also, get the recall spell and set an anchor point by the entrance so you can teleport back out after finding the objective.
>do this every time
save before entering dungeon
save after entering dungeon
immediately open console
type teleport2qspawn, hit enter
if it teleports you, load 2nd save file from inside dungeon and continue playing
if it does not teleport you, load the 1st save outside the dungeon and repeat the process
i dont understand what this helps to accomplish
remember that its tele2qitem if its an item and not an NPC or monster.
not him, but i keep doing it until the quest objective is there?
also, how do i open the console
to be clear, this is just to make sure there actually IS an objective in the dungeon and the quest is not bugged.
you can ofc always abuse this after you feel like you did your best running around for an hour. doing it right away from the entrance will cause you do miss to much xp and cause issues with leveling up.
>filthy peasants will tell me about places but not about a particular person
how can i fix this?
Such a ridiculously simple thing to do programming wise as well. Just have different damage types and enemy resistances. Or maybe go simpler with an enemy ID thing.
>this is just to make sure there actually IS an objective in the dungeon and the quest is not bugged
This never happened to me. He can just teleport in his current dungeon. I've rarely resorted to teleporting it's become clear that the dungeon is not bugged and I just didn't see that one hallway that I didn't clear.
tele2qitem or tele2qspawn
Stop being a reputationlet. I bet peasants hate you.
>resorted to teleporting and when I did, it's become clear*
How can you not improve in 22 fucking years lmao
I need some tips on making a custom class. How important are the streetwise, etiquette, and language skills? Since there seem to be systems that use these that aren't present in the other games, I thought it would be fun to make a character with a focus on them. I plan to also be a sneaky bitch with light armor and short blade, and possibly things like climbing and other traversal skills. I've never played Daggerfall before, so I don't know if a build like this is a terrible idea.
It's nice how a random quest teleported me to a dungeon and prompt told me to cheat with a console command in order to leave the dungeon because maybe it didn't have an exit, wich it actually has.
He already was a Zoomie zoom-zoom in 1997, incredible.
How?
Do quests for nobles or other bigdick people. Doing main quest is pretty good way to up those reputations.
For example, do Queen Aubk-i's quest in Daggerfall castle to find Nulfaga.
Fuck this stupid game
It made me appreciate Oblivion more.
What the other user said. Alternatively, get a piece of clothing that boosts your personality. It should help as well. Buy, steal or hope for a lucky drop.
>normal
Don't blame the game, blame redguards
Hdoom but with Daggerfall when?
i get the same result with all 3
>I have low personality
>Everyone shits on me
>Boo-hoo game bad!
Zoomie, chill.
Is storing items in house fixed in unity version? Can I put stuff there without losing it?
yes
i hope you hit the corner of a table with your pinky toe
How do I get git gud?
I cant even finish the tutorial level
cant heal for shit and everytime i try to rest some dumbfuck appears and butt rapes me.
I went for simple warrior stuff, also is the tutorial level random ? or is there a map? cuz im scared its fuckin huge.
This is why noone likes you.
Unity means there could be a mobile port
what spells should i get early on?
recall, fireball, heal, antidote, cure disease, water breathing, open and free action.
is there any point at crafting spells early into the game?
just crafted a 1k gold heal spell and im not sure if it was worth it.
>get a quest to cure some lady somewhere
>get there
>she tells me about someone that can cure her somewhere else
>you feel somewhat bad
>you have wizard's bane
>how the fuck.png
>get to the healer
>she tells me the girl has wizard bane and gives me a talisman that can cure it but can only be used once
holy shit, what a tweest, so i got the disease from her or is it a coincidence?
Make a bunch of low-cost training spells for every magic school.
i have a decently melee capable char and these supported me well in the beginning i think
1. cure disease, as diseases can end your playthrough or force your hand to join a shit temple
2. heal, duh
3. invisibility, run past annoying enemies
4. levitate, saves your ass and gets you where you're not supposed to be
5. recall, so you don't have to walk out of dungeons after completing the objective
6. water breathing, just a cheap spell
7. slow falling, i had that by default i think
8. death touch, just vanishes annoying bitches into nothingness, rad
Is there a way to make spells besides guilds?
Post Characters
Did someone test the Archeologist Guild mod ? Seems freaking fun and it gives an utility to languages skills like Orcish and such.
Is Dark Brotherhood implemented in Unity version? I've killed like 50 guards and 100 civilians already and still no invitation.
where can i buy potions? i thought it was alchemy stores
You need to make your own potions, certain guilds and temple give you this service when you join and do few quests for them.
What's orc with the tail? I don't remember that?
cure poison, cure disease, heal, water breathing, water walking, free action, levitate, recall
sleep and open if you want to do those piss easy mage guild quests
I think it's a bugged right arm
IIRC that's an orc in the shrine of Sheogorath who thinks he is a Khajiit:
by the way, water walking is not for walking on top of the water, it's for walking through the water. Very useful.
It's not random, starting dungeon is always the same.
It's really shitty how they don't tell you how to climb or that you need to climb the wall at the top of the large staircase/throneroom. The best i came up with is kill the first few rats n bats, save, and then run like hell through the dungeon looking for the exit. Most of the rooms off of the main hallways are just enemies waiting to kill you.
It's 100% a casual filter.
The local religion is different. Daggerfall only has Kynareth temples which offer spell making. Other temples offer different services, like potion making or item making.
Just go take some loans from regions you'll never visit again
Read the manual.
No such thing as light or heavy armors, language skills are used to pacify people, like if you take ettiquite and a knight is attacking you for being wanted there's a chance he will stand down.
I'm going through it right now on my second quest seem to be pretty cool, first reward was either 578 gold or an amulet that the guy didn't know the effect of which turned out to be a healing spell on myself
But I can "forbid" my character from wearing heavier armors like plate in exchange for bonuses, right? Is that a worthwhile exchange?
You don't need to climb any walls, the throne has a switch with an elevator
Hmmm no you can forbid certain materials, but you're only gimping yourself because the strongest material is lighter than leather
Also take illusion, from what I understand sneaky is basically impossible without it
Oh well, still got out. Once you learn the way out it's not too hard to run past the imps and skele
>there will never be a mod to import df saves into daggerfall unity to explore worlds
where the hell are the thieves guild/dark brotherhood houses, they told me that I can identify them now but I still can't find them.
Have you tried switching to information mode and inspecting every house in town?
Join the mages guild, you'll eventually get a quest to kill a bunch of daedra somebody accidentally summoned
>get same kind of quest
>everyone hates my guts because of my low PER an it takes me an hour to get a proper answer out of someone
mod that removes all the empty rooms and pointless hallways and dead ends from dungeon when?
>notice attack speed suddenly got way to fast
>check stats
ummm what?
i don't recall doing anything and suddenly i got 4 of my stats maxed out
I'm going in as a female Khajiit swimmer/climber/runner.
I'll win the Olympics and beat the game that way.
positive traits:
athleticism
general regeneration
Also female Khajiits start with +10 luck and +30 climbing.
If only I had more strength for more climbing... But I want to cast spells too.
>fall down pit
>only exit is a magically locked door
>interacted with every door I could, no secret door in sight
>pit is in the middle of the room so I can't climb back up
Great game Todd
Either a temporary buff you've got or you have enchanted item equipped.
Is there any reason to use short blade instead of long blade?
Role-playing. If you're minmaxing then long blades is the only way to go since best weapon is long blade.
I assume the Ebony Blade is the weapon your talking about?
Had a friend help me with skills and whatnot, but I can't get past the starting dungeon because the green bar drains fast as hell. Should I try something else for a starting character?
Daedric Dai Katana does more damage and you can put custom enchant on it in item maker to make it far better than Ebony Blade.
>level 11
>suddenly found a daedric saber on some shitty giant
Doesn't level scaling mean that going for 3.0x leveling is superior in every way to 0.3x?
>Short blade and Alteration as Primaries
m8... do Long Blade and Heavy Armor instead.
Can I marry a waifu? I know Daggerfall leaned into the fantasy life sim side of things.
>tfw cant join the orgies
Mods will fix it.
No. Could see mods changing that though
>STR, AGI, END, SPD
You're a werewolf.
I've been editing and trying to fit more sprites in the taverns but it seems the size displayed in game is limited to the previous sprite so animating ones that were static before isn't working so well.
Hopefully. Knowing the modding scene Bethesda games attract it's probable.
apparently i got infected with lycanthropy which seems pretty sweet with how i got 4 stats maxed out now.
got another problem though found 2 enhanced items and while he let me identify one of them(shitty water walking skirt) he wont let me put in the ring.
So what’s the point of buying a ship, exactly?
Great work either way, user.
I've put like 12 hours into a single character and I'm still doing stuff for my first guild, by this point in skyrim I would have already been the master of all the guilds.
what the fuck do i say
Nulfaga told you when you spoke to her.
>Texture filtering
Eeeeew
cunny
based bikini armor chad
she did?
she told a bunch of nonsense and now she doesn't talk to me
shut up
How shit is this?
the answer was in the pudding, honey
Yes it is implemented, I just joined them, but there is a bug that make their hideout invisible on the map, so for now, the Dark Brotherhood is unplayable (it will be fixed soon).
don't talk to me with fake answers retard
none of this is the answer, and if reload she says a different text
You can't, there is a bug in the latest version of DF Unity. We'll have to wait next week for it to be fixed.
I pacified a lich with my etiquette score. It is 4%.
Read closely.
The answer is literally "shut up". As in, you tell the statue to shut up and it will open the door for you.
I know this is a daggerfall thread, but are there any mods that I should install for a first playthrough of morrowind? Either graphical or bug fixing or whatever. I've never played morrowind before but playing daggerfall has made me want to. What's a good class for a beginner that's fun/interesting?
>acute hearing
Enjoy hearing skeleton shrieks everywhere you go.
What do I do with doors that I can't unlock or bash down? I've wasted half of my stamina trying to bash it down and I'm pretty sure it's not possible. I have an item that casts the open spell but I get Spell effect failed everytime for some strange reason.
Is it feature complete yet?
Why doesn't Real Grass 2 mod work? Is it because it's winter?
tesgeneral.com
XD
that worked, thanks
It is feature complete. I believe the alpha label is just for the bugfinding phase
Is the door magically locked? If so, you need to interact with something that will open the door. Try pulling on levers, torches, skulls, or chains in the same dungeon block. Non-magical locks can always be bashed open with enough perseverance though it's very RNG so it can take you a long time if you're unlucky.
>I have an item that casts the open spell but I get Spell effect failed everytime for some strange reason.
Keep using the item until it says "Ready to open", then click on the door. Sometimes the lock will be too strong for even an open spell, but it's very rare and the door can still be bashed open in such cases.
Stop shitposting this false bait, Morrowind fans don't actually believe that. Daggerfall and Morrowind are two different types of RPG, and both are good at what they do.
Technically yes. It's not 1:1 (movement physics aren't accurate and I think some bugs are from the port and not from the game). I'd say this is your best option to play DF right now unless you're autistic
With only 45 int and no x3 magery advantage you might as well not even bother with spells.
I'd lower personality to 25 or even lower and add phobia to animals because they're the easiest enemy type in the game.
Not very related to this but I'm not exactly sure how the max hitpoints formula works and what effect increasing your endurance has if you didn't choose 30 at the start.
Oh shit, apparently it is a magically held lock. I never get that message because I'm always in Steal mode while in dungeons. When you say dungeon block, do you mean the module? Because it's a pretty big module.
>Keep using the item until it says "Ready to open", then click on the door
I see, thanks. Unfortunately the lock was too stronk.
my horse is amazing
Is Daggerfall actually good?
Should I try it?
how much int and will would I really need if I just wanted things like invisibility and recall?
>hey champion go to castle necromoghan
lol
Where does it say what each primary stat influences?
It is its own thing, wich is a rare thing these days.
It's flawed like every other TES game. But flawed in a different way. It might satisfy your autism.
You mean attributes like strength? Press F5 and click on each attribute. Alternatively, use UESP wiki.
source on background pic?
Gimme some general build tips, are there stuff that are straight up useless shit or stuff that work a bit different than advertised?
Reminder to take off all your clothing in the first dungeon if your IQ was high enough to roll a female character.
Make sure youre in the right town too.
Why only the first dungeon specifically?
Is there a way to display more info? Maybe damage numbers or what spells you got hit by, "miss" cues etc.?
Did they mention anything about the character? I had a similar problem with finding an NPC but they were mentioned to be an alchemist so, lo and behold, they were in one of the potion stores.
Alternatively noblewoman might mean they're in the castle, if this is a major city.
>daggerfall is essentially just a 3d first person roguelike
I think thats why I like it.
If you want to actually hit shit, pump agility. If you want to hit shit faster, pump speed.
Once you get to rank 5 with the mage's guild, you can spend some gold to enchant your shit and become an unstoppable killing machine.
UESP beginner's guide says that personality can be dropped to 10, which is false
With so little per people will treat you like shit
Get a one type of melee weapon and one type of distant damage (destruction, archery) as main skills
I did the exact same thing, and made the exact same (looking) character.
The game isnt made with having you be able to get out of any situation in mind.
It does that. Play with distance 1 or forget about it.
Willpower only affects how fast you train your magic skills and your resistance to magic. I'm not sure how much int you would need because I haven't played a caster without x3 magic points but if you just want recall I'm sure you could manage with only 45 int, I haven't played that much with invisibility so I'm not sure how much it costs.
If you want to get a bit more OP get silver as a forbidden material because it's very rare to find and not that great.
Fuck, the big ship is ugly as hell and not comfy at all. 200k for a pile of garbage.
The small ship is cute.
Never pick multiple weapon skills - choose one weapon type and focus exclusively on that.
Long blades are by far the best weapons in the game, though all weapon types are still serviceable other than Archery, which is shit. (Hand-to-hand is surprisingly effective and has the added bonus of ignoring material requirements versus monsters.)
Plate Armor is leagues better than plate or chain, since it can benefit from material bonuses. The only penalty to wearing heavy armor is the added weight.
High Elves get immunity to paralysis for free.
Agility and speed is more important than strength for melee combat.
A high intelligence and magicka modifier is very important if you plan to do any regular spellcasting.
"Pure" mages are generally pretty shit unless you use spell absorption. Always carry a weapon.
Don't dump Personality or people will hate you and never answer your questions.
"In Darkness" effects are active in every single indoor area in the game, including all dungeons, as well as at night. "In Light" effects are only active while outside during daytime.
Rapid Healing/Health Regeneration helps speed up health recovery immensely.
Language skills are pretty useless and only picked for roleplay and/or meme purposes.
>Plate Armor is leagues better than plate or chain
Better than leather or chain. Fuck me I need to go to bed.
oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Their buildings are easy to find because those are always huge square two story houses, always look the same in every city. What did you do to join? Did you have to go to jail?
Why is Archery shit? I tried it and steamrolled early on.
Well, I did half of that
playing without it for now, thanks
>first dungeon
>awesome banger song
>all the other dungeons have generic tension music
please
Why not just try it? It's literally free and easy to find.
So what's the appeal of this entry in the series? I only really played Oblivion and I loved the hell out of that game.
Try climbing the ceiling and up. Get levitate.
How do I do the different strikes with click to attack? If you can't do them then this option is a no-go right?
Like in Morrowind.
I sort of wish shields weren't so garbage because I like how they look.
Completely random.
Is the different damage/accuracy variants per attack type even implemented in Daggerfall Unity?
Well, it acts like a house but you can teleport to it from any point of the map.
I wish there was a reason to stick with lighter armor. Feels weird having my sneaky catgirl run around in plate.
Shut the FUCK up
It feels like it is. The forward thrusts seem to hit more often than the other attacks for me.
>wearing armor or weapons
Grandpa nobody cares for your century old videogame
Is there actually any possibility to turn this game into a roleplaying dungeon-crawling life sim once the mod support hits the shelves?
Will it be possible to add crafting stations to player's house, hunger meter, usable furniture, cities that are not a square, more books, more armours/weapons etc etc etc?
Or will it just be all these countless shitty graphics/sounds mods that only zoomies care about?
Just enchant an armor piece with "Strenghtens armor" and you'll get a 5 ap bonus on all slots.
No, you have to go on a rampage and kill civilians in a city, then escape successfully, then wait for some days, and you'll receive a letter from the Dark Brotherhood.
oh man now i want to roll a kajit slut
FUCK SPIDERS
What would you recommend for max hit points per level for a knight build?
What's a good character build?
I have a glitch where i still move the camera while in the dialogue menu with npcs so i cant actually select anything. Sucks because i was really starting to get into the game.
>396 replies, 123 posters
Does better than most other threads.
>crafting stations to player's house, hunger meter, usable furniture
Just stick with Minecraft.
Spellblade. Take 3X magery
it doesn't have the same other aspects doe
the best character build for daggerfall has always been "Playing the fucking game"
I know this is shit advice, but all the advice you'll find is literally wrong. Play the game. You will learn.
>spend days travelling
>crest a hill
>a city lies out before you
>bring your horse to a halt
>say 'Daggerfall' out loud
>continue on your way
>tfw
>map_revealall
>tele2qitem
>Turns out that the quest item was in a completely unreachable, detached part of the map with no teleporters
Bravo, Bethesda, you've done it again.
im willing to bet theres a torch or some object you can interact with that will open a wall allowing access to it
how do i open the console?
having the same issue
Heavy armor isn't a stat?
>tfw you enable the smaller dungeons mod
Holy shit, you can tell that even the grognards who played this back in the day would have killed for something like this.
why wasn't that a main feature of this port?
link?
Rape defeated enemies when?
Is there any type of multi-player mod for Daggerfall?
No and there won't be.
based pusyposter
The same button that opens console in almost every other game, if you don't know you are litteraly underage and need to get off Yea Forums.
Based retard
Why just the first dungeon?
I'm asking because the console button isn't working, get fucked
Daggerfall is shit.
Yeah, Wayrest is a better place.
>people get off to this low res pixel shit
I get it back in the day, but now?
This is literally the best thing about Unity remake.
What is the best guild to get reputation with?
Any recommended advanced settings changes for a new player?
Good god I forgot how insufferably large the dungeons can get. Fuck this "find the werewolf" shit.
I just wish modern TES games were more in-depth. I'm tired of the dumbing down.
what do you mean by best? reputation doesn't do anything in particular on its own, there's a couple quests where a faction sends you a letter if you have a certain amount of rep with them, and for joinable guilds your rep determines your max rank.
but given your question I guess the answer would be the merchants since higher rep should mean better deals at every store in the game.
also your rep with a daedric prince will reduce the chance of failing to summon it for its artifact quest, but you can't reliably increase it like other factions, there's just one noble quest that lets you gain rep with a random daedric prince
thanks, but i don't have setting.ini in my game folder...
I thought there would be one too, but there just wasn't.
>It's smarter than a warrior
It wouldn't be too bad if the secret doors had some kind of indicator marking them. Like two torches side by side or something.
Is this worth playing right now? Or should I wait a bit?
If all core gameplay features are implemented then why is it only alpha? What do they still plan on doing?
You can see secret doors on the map pretty easily.
Try on C:\Users\Username\AppData\LocalLow\Daggerfall Workshop\Daggerfall Unity
>Is this worth playing right now?
Yes
>Or should I wait a bit?
No
>If all core gameplay features are implemented then why is it only alpha?
Developer has autism and can't name things properly.
>What do they still plan on doing?
Polishing, bugfixes and mod support.
how does one open them secret doors?
Anyone else have a feeling that TES6 is just going to be Daggerfall again?
that did the trick, thanks
I've noticed the doors glow differently or they have an item next to it like a potion bottle or some small indicator.
Is there a chart with information at what level what materials start to appear?
just click on the wall like it was a door
like a door!
>5 years from now Todd releases TES6 which is basically a slightly modded version of Daggerfall Unity.
>Creates a thread on Yea Forums and thanks all of us for participating in the Beta-test.
Is Luck a worthwhile stat?
END, PER, LUC isnt worth it.
Just set them to 10 and use the points for other things.
Am I retarded? Where's the settings.ini located?
I'm pretty sure the only reason it's called an alpha instead of a beta is because the classic UI is missing and apparently the gravity calculation for jumping is not the original one.
C:\User\AppData\LocalLow\Daggerfall Workshop\Daggerfall Unity
LUC increases your chances to hit your enemy, but not as much as agility.
Same, also noted that slash/chops kills bats in 1 hit, while seemingly always they need two thrusts to die
>Developer has autism and can't name things properly.
You mean he names things properly instead of greedy, disingenuous publishers/developers who misuse the terms "Alpha" and "Beta"
Thanks, had my AppData hidden.
>spend time installing this
>it sucks
every time, Yea Forums
It takes like three minutes to install.
How do I recover my stamina?
My suspicion is that we'll get the Illiac bay again but with sailing and pirates.
I mean, they're making a sci-fi game with spaceships, there's no way that's not a prototype for sailing just like how Dragons got recycled into Vertibirds in Fallout 4.
random piece of aids on the wall is a lever for god knows what
No, I meant what I said. The game is complete and only needs a few bugfixes. It's definitely not in an alpha stage. Beta? Maybe.
Can someone point me in the right direction for combat?
I'm just charging and attacking is there a way to block parry or strategically better attacking so I don't die?
Hit and run or just hit them before they hit you and save a lot
oh fuck, with smaller dungeons the game is actually fun.
Nop, you can't block. Stack points in Agility and luck so you get higher chance to hit you opponent. Also, enchant your armour and use potions.
If you're a Spellsword (or if you can use magic) use magic.
*random chimp noises*
>VENGEANCE
what did he mean by this
kek
Where's the warband mod
I want to conquer Daggerfall with my motley crew of orcs and liches
what's the use of grab mode, info mode, etc...
i'm always in grab mode
>run 2 .exes, point unity to the file folder, click check boxes for a couple quality of life options
>too much work
Where's the Potion Seller mod?
I'm going into battle and I want only the strongest potions and the potions that are being sold in the Mage's guild are weak.
Am I just supposed to run the fuck away from anythning in the starting dungeon?Sure I can kill a few rats and a bat but seems like a bad idea overall
When you use 'Info' mode you can click on buildings (works at a distance too) and it gives you the name of the building/residence. So you don't have to enter the building first to get it's name. Like if you have a quest to meet someone at some tavern you can just use the info mode to find it. Saves a lot of time.
He's a zoomer, user, he has no idea what it's like to not have to run an installer and just open. It's just too much for his puny brain.
There was a Elder Scrolls themed mod in works but it's been long abandoned
forums.taleworlds.com
holy shit, that's great
good to now, thanks
You can't download it at your level
Jesus christ I played through the game a few months ago without knowing that you could use info mode like that
I'm not getting off, just mirin the dedication
What stat improves the accuracy of the spell?
Do prayer beads, common symbols and icons have use?
Enough of these games. I need your strongest modification.
depends, if you didn't build a combat oriented class you'll probably want to run from the skeletons, and if you don't have hand-to-hand or are using an iron weapon then you'll run from imps too.
rats/bats/human enemies and that one bear hiding in the closet you should be able to handle at level 1 as long as you're resting to heal along the way
cheers
ye I discovered it randomly too
This mod is for the strongest engines only, and yours is clearly of the weakest.
You can't handle those mods, they'd crash Fallout 4, let alone Daggerfall.
"You've had your say, Mod maker but I'll have mine. You're a rascal, you're a rascal with no respect for gamers. No respect for anything...except your mods!"
Selling to pawnshops or enchanting I guess
"Mod maker, what do I have to tell you to get your mods? Why won't you trust me with your strongest mods, Mod Maker? I need them if I'm to be successful in the battle!"
Why don't you join grandma's Diabella cult user~
Luck also increases your odds of finding valuable loot.
If you max luck early on, you can find Orcish and even Daedric shit before you normally would.
>enter hallway
>Take a shitton of damage and die from seemingly nothing
>reload, luckily saved just a second before
>cautiously enter hallway
>take a shitton of damage again and die
I can hear what sounds like rock sliding against other rocks. Can anyone explain what the fuck is going on?
God damn it why did I take the quest from the mage's guild first thing after tutorial? It sent me to a dungeon with nothing but skeles and I'm absolutely getting my ass widened at lv1
I remember traps like that, usually I found them on certain staircases. I think it's supposed to be arrows from a trap shooting at you.
I know that feel
t.longblade fag
is daggerfall actually good or just nostalgiabait for boomers
Ah maybe that's it. Luckily it's a dead end, was just confused
With whom i need to make quests to level my reputation with "members of the itelligensia" to join mages guild?
It is very much an oldschool RPG, more focused on dungeons and character building than overworld and NPC interaction. However, I find it extremely enjoyable in that it is difficult but fair enough that any challenge can be overcome with forethought and skill building. I also really enjoy that a dungeon takes at least 45 minutes to explore in its entirety for the most part, sometimes even longer. Also, somehow, the combat is much more engaging than lager installments. It's a "duelist" sort of game that requires you to dance around and read attacks. You aren't sitting there exchanging blows for 30 seconds and then instantly healing. If an enemy lands a strike on you it's a big deal.
that filename
Dialogue and "talking" to NPCs is a bloody nightmare. Anyone who says that Morrowind is a wikipedia simulator has not played Daggerfall.
On a positive note, i managed to rob some stores - stole jewelery and books. Books got me more gold than anything i had. Idk if 12k gold is a big deal at lvl 2, but so far its quite nice.
Question: how do i get merchants to sell me stuff? I can sell them my crap, i can talk to them (not that they give the dialogue menu), but i cannot buy anything from them.
someone was avin a giggle
