Was the i5 2500k the greatest gaming CPU of all time? It came out at the start of 2011 and is still going strong. Only recently is it getting to the point where you need to upgrade it.

Yeah this is without a doubt.

Likewise I think 970 is one of the greatest GPUs ever considering price/performance.

>3.5GB
nope

>Likewise I think 970 is one of the greatest GPUs ever considering price/performance.
that would be 560 ti
2500k + 560 ti was a 500 dollar powerhouse.

>he doesn't have a golden chip

>Need to Overclock on a mass scale to keep up with new tech
Your time is over.

I always think the thumbnail is a box of tampons

58x Xeon Rolling through with my triple channel ram and 6 cores 12 threads peaking over 4ghz when OCd

Me too dude

That would be the 4790k
Stil getting over 120 fps in modern games.

4790k is a beast it wasn't worth dumping it for a 7700k

>4790kfags have to disable hyperthreading

This is still going to strong and i have it. I will continue till the cpu dies or the whole system dies and that could be a day from now or 1 year it's pretty old and still a beast.

I would argue it's the q6600. Came out in 2007 I believe first Intel quadcore processor. You can still play modern games with it. I used that thing for 10 years.

>and is still going strong.
Nah, 4 threads is a huge bottleneck for modern games, you're basically locked out of any Unreal Engine 4 title that isn't fortnite with an i5.

Q6600 a beast you could get a DDR3 motherboard and be set

It definitely bottlenecks these days. I had to upgrade a few months ago, dayum shame.

I dunno about i5-2500 but I'm still using my i7-3770 (not K) to this very day and it works like a charm. I doubt I'll ever need to upgrade it as it still serves my needs very well.

i7-2600K came at the same time and still doesn't need to be upgraded, it plays even the most demanding games at 60 fps at close to max settings
