Is ace combat 7 worth the money or should I just pirate it?
It is worth it. Especially onsale. Kono and team went through hell and put more soul and love into this game than many devs. Please dont pirate it. Read what they went through here. twitter.com
Basically the team was a skeleton crew for a long time and had to start over. Other people at Bamco tried to get Kono (Life long director of the series) shit canned. It's a miracle the game turned out so good with only really a year of development. Kono put his job on the line to get this game made for the fans and he did it.
Are there any drones? Verify
I fucking love these games man. I feel like Ace 7 is actually underrated by the fans. There's a lot of story themes I haven't seen talked about
7 is probably my favorite overall. I just wish it had more giant all fronts assault missions like 6. But development was hell for them so I understand. The one in 6 where you capture an airfield mid mission and use it to rearm is kino
The clouds and lightning are so cool and I feel really advanced an already great formula. Post stall maneuvers too.
alright, is it worth getting the season pass or is the base game good enough?
yo i have psvr, how great is the vr and can it be used for every part of the game
I wouldn't get the pass as a non fan. It's 3 planes and 3 missions and the missions aren't out yet. First one is in fall. Just grab the game and if you love it maybe the pass when the missions are out.
As a fan I bought the pass to support ProjectAces. DON'T watch the first mission dlc trailer it's a giant spoiler recap
VR is their own missions and apparently it's very good. The main campaign isn't vr and I've never tried VR. The game runs at a locked 60fps even on a base ps4. Very rarely dips during a giant bomb run
>locked 60 fps on base
JESUS CHRIST IM BUYING IT
Yeah man it's really solid. I've seen one noticable slight dip if I drop cluster bombs on many ground targets in a particular mission if I'm looking at them too. All the ps2 games are 60. 6 and AH are the only 30fps ones.
It's very well tuned. digital foundry has stats to back that up. 1080p too
Yes, and it has a great modding community
I wish for next Ace they give us coop missions with mission/level editor. The games are fun but so short.
check out project wingman, basically a roguelite ace combat (and made by an /aceg/ user)
>Ground
>Naval
Naval's not in the alpha yet, is it? And I remember ground targets weren't in conquest mode yet.
God I wish the entirety of AC7 was VR compatible, the game is so beautiful. Divebombing an armored column and pulling up at the last second already makes my chest implode, I can only imagine what the bossfights would feel like.
Also wow, kinda miffed that beating the game on Ace doesn't give you anything. I was hoping for a final, Heaven and Hell style difficulty where one hit is an insta-death. Ace of Aces
no
>Using the PCfag score that got review bombed because muh hotas
>how great is the vr
By far the best VR experience I've had
>and can it be used for every part of the game
Unfortunately no. It's a set of 3 missions, but every AC mission will run you a strong 20-30 minutes so it's still a good chunk of play.
There's nothing to discuss.
Every AC thread needs this video.
Post the PS4 score schizo
For me, it's

IT'S EVERYDAY BRO
Tell me about schizo, what's his end game?
He's a B*lkan and you know they love stirring shit up.
Does Ace Combat 7 take place simultaneously with another game? Why did they talk about so much shit that I never got to see.
The only other game I've played is 6 because I'm not a Snoy.
OH NO NO NO NO
It's a sequel to AC4 and 5, and it references those games pretty heavily
Nope, they just reference the events of AC04 and AC5 vaguely. It's still self-contained.
This autism could only be a simfag
So what was that shit about the plane space battle? Or the Osean rebels they kept mentioning?
>Only a zoomer would play trash like Shit Combat and think it were somewhat of a decent game
>you would know better than anyone nostalgia shitter
The juxtaposition of those is excellent.
Are you talking about the satellites going down? That wasn't a plane space battle. Anti sat missiles exist and can be launched from a jet
>plane space battle
wat
>Osean rebels
that's the 444 on Tyler Island, the convicts (Avril, Tabloid, etc) go awol and you link up with them in the last two battles
Honestly the story is pretty badly paced because the game went through development hell and was rewritten several times. There's a ton of cut content in the game's files that would've drastically changed the game's story.
>simfag thinks lasers are unrealistic
>hasn't heard of the jew DEW
>muh hotas
What, the PC crowd didn't like it because they expected it to not be a causalized game you played on a xbox-PC controller?
>There's a ton of cut content in the game's files that would've drastically changed the game's story.
Can you clarify this? What cut content exactly?
>the game went through development hell and was rewritten several times. There's a ton of cut content in the game's files that would've drastically changed the game's story.
That makes a lot of sense, a lot of shit was happening that I was waiting to get paid off later and I didn't really get anything other than a vague "some secret Erusian junta and Belka did it".
No because the game didn't support their sidewinder from 1999 on release so they review bomb it meanwhile it's a game made in less than a year for 3 different platforms with a VR side campaign. But since the game didn't instantly support every stick under the sun it's trash.
Not that any of these people actually fucking used a stick let alone got an S RANK with one.

You were supposed to destroy the satellites that plunged the world into chaos, there's lines for ASAT missiles and satellite targets
Georg was the one who really killed Harling (you're still framed for it), and he would've been part of the 444
And there would've been several more VR missions
>Georg was the one who really killed Harling
Oh so he wouldn't have just come out of nowhere for no reason.
I feel a dlc mission will be an anti sat one.
I still think Trigger should've been the one that really killed Harling, even if by accident (like the "perfect" IFF system glitches). Then we would have a solid redemption arc instead of the cop-out "lol you were framed you're cool" move
I wonder how much of this was actually cut due to time constraints and how much was simply cut because they didn't feel it fit as the final version of the game's story came together. Drones causing false flag attacks and psychological warfare, culminating with the world plunged into information hell as communications are cut off, felt pretty solid as an overarching theme, even if it resulted in the player feeling like they were just being jerked around.
