This I played fighterz the first time 2 days ago because of steams free trial. I spent a day and a half learning and going over some combos, how to keep opponents in block strings and what a neutral in fighterz looks like. I go online and literally the 3rd match I get is this bardock goku gohan team applying a shit ton of pressure on me and the blockstrings are next to impossible to get out of. And if I make one mistake thats 75% of my health gone from ONE combo. It's so off putting

Reworked movesets on some characters. Like Kid Goku losing the GT stuff, and giving him the Ozaru instead. SS Goku getting Ryuuken as his Lv3 instead and a SS4 skin. Base Goku getting GT Goku’s Spirit Bomb. Everyone getting more expanded movesets to match Cell’s level of depth.

Also, Hercule as an intentionally bad joke character (as DLC it’d never happen as no one would pay for that).

For 1P modes, something akin to BB’s Abyss mode, or some sort of Gauntlet. Also, the ability to upload combos online and share them in the combo challenge mode. Maybe even take a page out of the Budokai and Tenkaichi games for mode ideas.

But now I guess that’ll never happen, as you can’t bring all that stuff forward in a Balance patch. DBFZ doesn’t need MORE characters anymore, it needs a whole new game that pushes the game to a new level. Like MvC2 did for MvC or how Melee did for Smash. Just really polish and refine wha you’ve got into a world class premium package. DBFZ has the potential to be one of the greatest fighting games ever made if they ditched the janky ass first game that you always get with your first iteration.

I'm really happy with where the game is right now. All I want are a few more characters, stages, and to raise up the bottom tier. I don't want a whole new game. I love this one.

It was on Saturday this time because it took 3 hours extra than anticipated last year and held up SFV

DBFZ will go down as the brightest flash in the pan in history. It defied expectations of anime games and quickly rose to the top of the FGC dethroning Street Fighter and literally killing Marvel forever (they also did that to themselves). Then by next year it faded below fucking UNIST. There were a lot of factors involved but I think the one that sicks out most is how homogeneous the game is which severely limits it’s shelf life. Forgetting that half of the roster is Goku there is like one tiny unique aspect to every character while everything else plays 90% the same.

It had less entrants this year because competition has just gotten too high. Skill ceiling is just too much for the abstained dude to try anymore, but it still had over 1000 entrants despite that, AND... and, it had the most spectators this year at over 101k viewers. This will beat out SFV and it might even beat Smash. Hardly a “flash in the pan,” game is very much alive still despite getting barebones support. If they go hard on the marketing for S3 and bring a ton of cool shit, it’ll shoot back up to spotlight. It’s one of the current highlights of the FGC and a fantastic game.

Also DB’s numbers are not bad at all, and the drop in entrants can be attributed to the meta developing drastically within the last patch while new games are coming out. Smash’s 3000+ is impressive but it’s also the game’s first year. You can bet it’ll have a dropoff. DBFZ on the otherhand has mostly stabilized due to an untouched meta since the balance patch.
