actually that was the worst time for console gaming

Peak gaming was the Xbox/Ps2/Gamecube time
What was top tier about a system with no games, a platform for Halo and brown meat shooters, and the most casual thing ever?

Peak gaming was 6th gen. Developers were willing to take risks and be experimental, even if their games were niche and only sold modestly. It's how games like MGS2, Drakengard, Killer7, Haunting Ground, Okami, and God Hand came into fruition, because their devs were willing to do something different. Things just became really stagnant in the 7th gen, apart from some dev teams like FromSoft (who's also been suffering stagnation as of late), and Grasshopper Manufacture. Also, 6th gen had some of the best games of all time.

This, I don't know what kind of games you would have to like to think this was the best gen because it was literally the worst in every aspect

>that 20 year old boomer who wishes he was a Zoomer, ignorant of how shitty things got after 2005

>20 year old boomer
i thought you had to at least be 30 to be considered a metaphorical boomer.

All my 20 year old buddies are metaphorical boomers.
Boomer and Zoomer are mentalities.

Gen 5 was worse, don't let nostalgia-blinded zoomers tell you otherwise.

when is zoomer and boomer getting filtered?

Gen 5 was PlayStation, Saturn, and N64.
You mean 7th gen. Which I agree, besides Nintendo, it was utter shit.

boy cant wait for the "2007 was the downfall" spammer to come in

Boomer and Zoomer are kind of funny but God damn this shit needed to stop a long time ago.

He's not even right.
2006 was the downfall. 2010 was the end.

Link it to trannies somehow and bam, it'll get zipped

PS1 and N64 are the most overrated consoles of all time. Change my mind.

>3D movement was by and large figured out
>dev teams weren't comprised of thousands
>DLC was far from the norm
>Nintendo had yet to completely go gimmick first
>the motherfucking GBA
>Sega's last hurrah with the Dreamcast
>Halo revolutionized console FPS

6th was the greatest gen

this one still makes me laugh.

this, 2006 was just as bad as 07 and 2010 is when everything became completely numb

>born in 92
>grow up with older siblings NES and SNES
>around age 7/8 we get a PS1 and N64
>age 11 I get my own PS2
>360/PS3/Wii era in my early teens

Objectively best consoles experience was being born in '90-'92.

Turn of the century was peak gaming.
>Deus Ex
>Thief
>Starcraft
>Half Life
>Metroid Prime
>Morrowind
>Majora's Mask
>Symphony of the Night
The later half of the 80s was also great, despite PC not having taken off yet outside of Ultima and borderline movie game Lucas Arts stuff.
>Tetris
>Super Mario Bros
>Zelda NES
6th gen wasn't that good, despite some good stuff like Metroid Prime, it was mostly fag movie games for little girls like Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear Solid.
For consoles the best generation was the 4th.

I wish I was born somewhere in 89-92 window.
Instead I was born in the late 90s and had to grow up in Shitworld.
When I get depressed thinking about that, I remind myself that even if I was born earlier, I'd still have to live through this eventually.
But it would be nice to have the full experience of the 90s and early 2000s under my belt.

You are a idiot

Man, honestly, the GBA was my favorite console.
Imagine having a pocket Snes, but with a updated library in your pocket. l the Castlevania games, final fantasy games, the Pokemon games and dozens of 5 star titles. Also, the port of Doom was fun as hell to a child.

Well you weren't so don't bother wishing.
Win some, lose some.
90s kids had Ninja Turtles instead of Bionicles and thought overweight faggot turtles screaming POOPY COWABUNGA was epic.

I was born in 1997 and I think everyone from the 89-92 window is an sjw piece of crap that needs to be killed immediately. And if you lived outside America then there was no fucking difference between being 6 years old in 2003 and being 6 years old in 1998

why you gotta poop on that man's head.

Was this gen better or worse than last gen?

It's basically nothing but higher res textures with more ways to spend money. Last gen was absolutely the peak of gaming because peope made games for the sake of giving people an experience rather than making profit

>day one DLC the norm
>every game has a fucking season pass
>Nintendo finally joins the paid online cabal
>AAA games are released unfinished
>increase in censorship
this gen is quite possibly the worst one yet.

Most sjws are zoomers that grew up coddled as fuck and were on Tumblr during their tween years

Both TMNT and Bionicle had soul though.

you are a fucking moron if you think there has been a single point in the last twenty years where people made games thinking of anything other than the shareholders

Errrrmmm, no. One generation earlier, or two, depending on your preferences was peak gaming.

I'm 29. I grew up with the 90s and got to go through my teenage years with the OG Xbox for Halo lan parties, Gamecube for smash and every good gamecube game, and so on. I'm really happy that I got to grow up when I did. We'd turn eachothers houses into messes of Ethernet cables and CRT televisions, and our parents were just happy we weren't out doing dumb shit.

Being a teenager is better for gaming.

Gen 6 was the peak. Consoles have been dead since ~2010

>brown and bloom era
gtfo

PS1, SNES & PS2 are the holy trifecta.

Replace the PS1 with the DS and you're right.

Why the hell do they filter words anyways? It only ruins board culture.

When were you born?
Cause underaged children have nothing to do here
either way, like other anons said here to, I wouldn't call that generation peak gaming (but it wasn't that bad either)

Peak gaming was early to late 90's, where we saw a combination of refined, arcade style games with the experimental new shit. At that time, the future was still rife with possibilities and hope. Now, it's just the same thing like last gen, but worse.

He's right, you can easily see it by just comparing the DLC for games this gen and last gen.

>Last gen was absolutely the peak of gaming because peope made games for the sake of giving people an experience rather than making profit
Last gen was when "on disc DLC" became a thing, way back in 2009.

I wouldn't call it the peak of gaming, but it certainly was better than this gen. Also, many developers made games for the sake of profit since gaming was a thing.

Zoomer is just a buzzword millennials have created so they can deflect their blacked blm feminazi degeneracy onto others
