The early/midgame are the most fun anyway. If you arent having fun then, try downloading some mods, or git gud, or return it. Its not for everyone but also isn’t fun if you just straight up suck

Bought it on the 28th of July and I’ve already put 55 hours into it. Help me.

That's normal.

yes. Early and midgame is the best. The fun comes from managing and trying to get everyone to survive. Try out mods like zombieland that changes how you play.

I’m thinking about finishing my colony, is it better to travel to the prebuilt ship or build your own?

don't deal with ships. If you want to travel then do that instead of building.

Rinworld is dangerous, the game is addictive, that's why I don't play it anymore, I don't have enough self control

rimworld is one of those games i like because they're slow paced enough that they don't mentally strain me, so i can listen to a podcast in the background, but aren't simply boring

I sort of like the idea of a pilgrimage across half the map.
Honestly it’s the first game I’ve played and actually enjoyed in months, better than doing nothing in my free time.

Get to 1k and then we'll talk about having problems.

Same

At this rate I’ll be there in a few months.

Yes.

>OY VEY! PAY ME $30! NO SALES GOYIM!
fuck the jewish dev

Total autismkino, the best genre

The multiplayer mod works surprisingly good, it is fun

How could mp work in this?

erp

It's jsut more people playing at once

Everyone controls the same colony and it's compatible with most mods

But how does it work with pausing and colonist control?

Everyone can pause and control colonists

What's the biggest colony you've made?
I got up to 11 dudes and it became tough to find a use for new guys after that. The veterans outclassed them so much, and the labor was already divided enough to keep everyone armed and supplied.
How do you make use of a huge population?

This one I have has 15 people. I basically have a use for everyone, between all the mining, crafting, hunting, farming etc
I basically have one person that specialises in each skill, then the ones that aren't specialised are set to clean and haul. Even with 4 people only cleaning and hauling, they can barely do all the work

Oh dorf fort lite. It's ok.

>*pushes up glasses*

it's rough to start, becomes immeasurably fun, and around the 100 hour mark you never want to play it again.
pic related, i drew my one armed psychopath tribe leader named 'teapot'. c:

reposting my modlist + info from prev thread in case it helps someone

Heres a list of all of my mods and what order they are in and a good place to start.
I do get some errors in my modlist but it seems fairly stable and you cant always avoid errors.
Id honestly do a playthrough as normal and then try mods.
mod order is important
>hugslib
>jecstools
>mod manager
are the main mod scripting mods that most of the other mods pull from

humanoid alien races 2.0 is the main mod that allows you to use other race mods in the game

if you wanted some basic QoL mods for vanilla, id suggest
>complex jobs
>interaction bubbles
>search and destroy
>run and gun
>blueprints
>more trait slots
>increased stack
>where is my weapon
>miniaturization
>share the load
>camera+
>colorful traits
>damage indicators
>dubs mini minimap
>defensive positions
>rain washes away filth
>relations tab
>replace stuff
>the vegetable garden mods
>rimhud
and maybe rimjobworld if you want to turn all the weird rape shit off and keep it for like birthing children and other such features

Most of them would work in Zetrith's Multiplayer mod except for maybe like 30-40 of them, but it would be a good list to start from if you wanted to look into doing that and you could just cross reference the list.
Ive never really tried multiplayer other than vanilla.

I used only stable mods from the list for the most part.

Here's Zetrith's mega list of other mods that he tested with his mod.
Its also a good reference to find stable mods.

Do you just play with friends or is there like a forum for mp. I can't ever find people that actually want to play

all the weed is constantly missing because
your friend gave 200 doses to the turkey
and removed all of its legs and shoved peg legs on it
and a gaping vagina
and your 1 precious cyberware eye
