You can't see the chapel from that point in the actual game unless you mod it.

No one cares, nerd

Is there a comfier game than Oblivion?

Thanks consoles for giving the largest city in the world 12 houses

Cyrodiil... where you can see the Imperial City from Bruma and walk that distance in three minutes... where cities have a dozen inhabitats... where most of the province is wilderness and there is not enough food to feed the tiny population...
Bethesda sure knows how to craft an immersive world!

>Skyrim isn't comf-

Attached: leaving-riverwood.jpg (1920x1080, 594K)

Seething.

That isn't comfy in the slightest and the entire game looks like that exact screenshot.

Don't get me more I enjoy these games but I get sad every time I remember how tiny they are. Todd needs to give up on having each game be an entire province and focus on a smaller area.

The cold north portion of the map is comfy as fuck, the windblown snowscapes near the sea. Those frozen northern towns buried in the snow. Perfect

The salt mines are producing today gents. I think our guests from the codex have wandered out of their Daggerfall thread..

-y

Saw a daggerfag the other day. Horrible creatures.

It has 62, not counting inns or shops with rooms for the owners.

Oblivion just falls flat in terms of things to do
It should’ve included more simulation stuff like a functioning economy you could participate in or local politics

Most of the shit Skyrim gets on here can be blamed on Oblivion. Its the worst kind of Elder Scrolls contrarianism because Morrowindfags can back their game up as being the better traditional western rpg experience without introducing mechanics that casualized the franchise.

>Morrowind

Morrowind > Skyrim > Oblivion > piss > Daggerfall > shit > Arena

The side quests and guilds in skyrim are pure dogshit. There's literally nothing good in that game, unless you mod it to be porn.

I read that some of the DLC is good? And if all else fail, you can overhaul into a wilderness sim

Anyway modded oblivion > modded skyrim by a wide margin because there's actual content to support the mods with

was comfy
a shame there was nothing out in the ocean to explore

Shame Morrowind had next to no choice and consequence. Later titles have done much better .

SOUL

SOULLESS

You really think if Oblivion was PC exclusive it would have been THAT? Cities made for games now don't bother going to the scale that would have justified the Imperial City. To populate it with unique content, designs, and people it would have been an undertaking equal if not more to making the entirety of the rest of Cyrodill.

>Quick saves first
Anyone else do this every time they are near a cliff?

For me, it's Balmora.

Attached: Balmora.jpg (2500x1406, 896K)

Still the biggest and most detailed city in the franchise.

think the ES series should just add randomly generated NPCs at this point to fill up some towns

>the biggest and most detailed city in the franchise.
You called?

Attached: Vivec_-_Morrowind.png (1366x768, 1.79M)

The problem with large number of NPCs is that they would all have clothes on them, which are all separate items and take up memory and processing power

-ier with mods.

you don’t think tech is there yet? The next ES isn’t even in production and probably won’t be out until the mid-2020s

You mean Blandmora? So much for the vaunted art direction of Morrowind.

>copy pasted houses
nah senpai

As a Morrowind fag, Oblivion and Skyrim are both nearly identical.
They are a set of 4 or 5 content treadmills, plus the handful of side content found in each town, and you just follow the quest marker consuming the content as you go until you run out.
On those terms, Oblivion is better simply because the stuff you're there for is better written and a better spectacle.

Morrowind is an entirely different mode of play and deserves its own conversation.

Trouble is it would look awful, between the shitty animations, awful models and textures, and lack of variety in clothing and hairstyles etc, it would be a town full of semi-identical clones walking around aimlessly.
Witcher 3 set the bar for what a living town should look like, and it's laughable how far behind Bethesda are now.
Elder Scrolls VI still confirmed to be using the same piece of shit 16 years old engine, so they are literally going to have all the same problems, just with a few more graphical effects

Worst city in the entire franchise.

>them spaghetti arms

the fuck are you rping as a tranny?

t. completely ignored my second post

Bigger cities with more random NPCs that just have a few lines is exactly what I think is missing in both Oblivion and Skyrim (and especially Fallout 4 lol)

>Detailed
>Literally copy-pasted in its entirety except two buildings
If you add up the interior size of each of the IC districts, plus the interior of all the buildings, I would guess it as being about three times the size of Vivec.

>Witcher 3 set the bar for what a living town should look like, and it's laughable how far behind Bethesda are now.
The tons of NPCs were nice but the towns were lacking seriously in interactivity and exploration, felt like a bunch of corridors at most. Didn't play the expansions.

A middle ground of Bethshit interactivity and CDPReddit production values would be perfect

I don't agree with the autistic that it would have been as big as it should. I do think that consoles limited the connectivity of the city and I bet it would be about twice the size if PC only.

The game was heavily gpu limited on PC at launch, but it only took a short period (and turning off HDR) to get 80+ fps at 1280x900.

>Morrowind deserves its own conversation.
Ok
Why were all the quests MMOtier fetch/kill types with no choice and consequences?
At least later games tried to be RPGs in this regard.

there's nothing wrong with gamebryo, bethesda are just shit at using it

I ignore a great deal user.
Can you tell me what got your panties in a bunch?

I do this irl

>anvil
What a fucking casual.

So?

Just in design and implementation. Other than that it is fine.

As a daggerfall fag, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim and all nearly identical. They are a set of 4 or 5 content treadmills, plus the handful of side content found in each town, and you just follow the quest marker consuming the content as you go until you run out.
On those terms, All of them suck because Daggerfall was far better.

Daggerfall is an entirely different mode of play and deserves its own conversation.

You are not using your head. Morrowind was just as big a letdown as Oblivion and Skyrim from specific perspective. Their sales and lasting power are telltale signs alone. No one would play ES3 except for nostalgia these days.

Morrowind has fantastic art direction.

Attached: Oridnator_guard.jpg (600x868, 98K)

Yeah I agree with you there, but to be fair you could still go inside a lot of the buildings in W3 and even though they were mostly pretty boring and empty, I'd argue that's exactly the same for Skyrim

>Just in every way it's terrible. Other than that it's fine.

So you understood the point.

Or at least it was until 'nam happened.

Attached: 20190729185252_1.jpg (1920x1080, 526K)

It is 100% confirmed that the Strip in New Vegas was one big area until they started optimizing for PS3 and hit memory limitations.

Morrowind isn't about spectacle, the quests are a mcguffin to get you out and seeing the world and roleplaying.
"Choice and consequences" is some Bioware bullshit that has NOTHING to do with crpgs. Go play a fucking visual novel or a movie game if you are desperate for choices beyond how your character achieves their goals.
I also completely deny that Morrowind doesn't have choices, even in your extremely limited Plot-focused view.

Absolutely confirmed for having not played Morrowind, which doesn't have a quest marker.
What went wrong in your life that led you to become a terrible shitposting monster?

Meet the big bad . He is wearing a frying pan on his face.
Enter Blandmora and think I am in the industrial park with all the warehouses.
My first visit to Vivec and I thought it was protected by small aircraft with all the wings I saw.

But yeah mushroom trees and all that.

You may deny it. One thing you won't do is provide an example.
Your nostalgia is showing.

>It is 100% confirmed that the Strip in New Vegas was one big area until they started optimizing for PS3 and hit memory limitations.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean they made it smaller.

You can fucking kill God for one thing, or anyone else that looks at you funny.
Can you do that in your on-rails adventure games?

True, just shittier.

The closest to killing a god are 2/3rds of the tribunal. They are more in the demigod range but sure.
Depending when you kill Vivec it has no effect on the game. You are supposed to kill the other one.

>You can kill anyone you want.
Ok

Yeah mods are a PitA to get to play nice together.
Less is more is the way to go.

What do you even mean "effect on the game"?
What effect does becoming Fighters Guild champion have on the game? Is this really all about the 2 lines of flavor text they wrote for NPCs to say to you?
Your focus on effects is missing the entire point.

The factions in Morrowind actually interact, and your interactions with them are governed by the rules of the world.
It's not a goofy roller coaster with zero impact on the worldbuilding.
That heightened sense of realism allows for greater immersion, something that everyone screaming HERO OF KVATCH at you does not.

modded skyrim

I mean it changes nothing in game. If you kill him before a certain point in the MQ it does afterwards you are free to kill him and nothing will change.
The temple doesn't hunt you down
Nobody mentions it

You would think killing a god would register a little bit.

>quicksaving in real life
I typically do this whenever I run red lights on the way home from work. Fuck the police and fuck people on scooters/bikes.

>randomly generated NPC
I am so tired of randomly generated garbage.

The only thing that conflicts is the TG/FG. That conflict is easily avoidable.
The Arch Mage will give you a quest to kill the Telvani councilors even if you are a Telvani councilor.
Once again I believe your nostalgia has colored your feelings on how impactful the guild interactions are.

Morrowind is a well written janky piece of crap
Oblivion is a horribly written janky piece of crap
Skyrim is a horribly written smooth gaming experience

Cyrodiil...home...

Attached: I'll come back later.png (851x858, 1.68M)

You've clearly never done it.
You can go up to any NPC and tell them you killed Vivec and they refuse to believe you. It is a fleshed out part of the narrative that they do in fact acknowledge in the Tribunal expansion.
More importantly, name fucking ANYTHING in Oblivion or Skyrim that has an impact on the world other than those shitty gates. They didn't even stop spawning dragons.
Even more importantly, who the fuck would even care if it did. Once you've consumed the content in TESIV or V you're fucking done. This is the inherent fallacy about "choice and consequence": the game ends and gets turned off at some point, so any consequences are just an illusion.

Only if you're following a guide and have foreknowledge about which NPCs need to stay alive.
Also the Houses are exclusive, one of which you even mentioned in your post, a clear sign that you're a shitposter who's never played the game.

Seems to me it's you who has his knickers in a twist. I love these games and you would know this had you read my other post.

Comfy is such a meaningless buzzword that only really translates to nostalgia.

As I stated I ignore a great deal. If you quote me I tend to pay more attention. As these threads tend to get quite long I am not inclined to sift through every post and try to Sherlock which offended party is you.
If you wish me to know what caused the jimmies to be rustled tell me.

it's nigh fucking time for an elder shit game spanning the entire continent again or maybe a completely new region

You determine the fate of several Daedric artifacts. Not in a "My gosh the lore implications "but actually in game in Skyrim.

>that one kid who didnt know about Fin Gleam

Attached: jeoHEb9[2].jpg (320x320, 28K)

You can miss the conflict just by playing. If you join the TG before you get the code book quest from the FG the conflict never appears. Since you can join both in Blandmora it is a roll of the dice for the new player. You don't need some in depth guide.

Yes one of the only real examples of C&C is which house you choose.

Honestly give ESO a try. You can play it single player for the quest lines, some of the zone quests are pretty great. I recommend starting with the daggerfall covenant since they have the strongest faction quest line and some of the best zone quest lines. DC faction quest will also make the most sense for the final part of the main quest where the faction quests merge together, since an integral NPC is a recurring DC faction character.

>You can go up to any NPC and tell them you killed Vivec and they refuse to believe you
You literally sperged out a few posts ago about how Oblivion has no meaningful impacts based on your actions beside some extra lines of dialogue from npcs, and now you're trying to use the exact same example to suggest why Morrowind does?
Are you actually retarded?

>once you've played all the content, you are done
Hmmmm

Don't forget.
Bring your wallet.

If you are to spend anything, then the sub is perfect. While subbed you have unlimited storage in the crafting bag, access to all of the DLCs, their dungeons and story lines, and you get the cash shop tokens every month (the same amount you'd have gotten if you bought them directly instead of subbing). Save up the cash shop tokens while subbed, then spend them to permanently unlock any content that you want while you are unsubbed.

Attached: Screenshot_20170806_113419.png (1920x1080, 3.97M)

Fuck off, Todd.

Is monk build (no armor, no weapons, fists only) fun? For sometime I have a desire to go monk run, but I don't want to reinstall Oblivion just to be disappointed.

Attached: Class_creation_monk.png (297x456, 75K)

You are like an abused spouse defending their abuser.

I agree, it's incredibly obvious.
Why then do people spam C&C like it means jack shit?
>whoa, these Powerpoint slides before the credits are so kino
>whoa, this branching narrative that painfully dovetails in the final act and is much better served in narrative-focused games and visual novels
I'm interested in vidya choices, not plot ones.
I was pointing out an inaccuracy and calling user out on talking about shit he's never done. I did NOT bring it up as an example.
I'm the one who thinks "impact" is a fucking retarded metric for quality in the first place. It's some Peter Molyneux-brand bullshit.

Which Elder Scrolls game is best for porn mods?

Try asking on /tesg/. They specialize in degeneracy.

It is obvious you don't care about C&C. You like Morrowind.
If you like the MMO tier fetch/kill quests good for you. Give ESO a try you will love it. No thinking just do what you are told and then get your pellet.

It's amazing you even know your way around a keyboard without a quest marker telling you which keys to hit.

Attached: Push Him.jpg (627x122, 20K)

You can say that about anyone talking about any game they enjoy.

Attached: (you).gif (480x238, 443K)

You are correct.
In most cases it wouldn't make sense but you could.

I remember making a a grotesque looking monk(ish) build, naked, fist only, the steed, and sneak. I would just sneak up on people, assassinate them, and then run from the guards. Later I would strip their body naked and drag it to the middle of the town. Lot's of naked bodies that save.

Also have fond memory of punching the shivering isles guardian guy to death since he was only immune to weapons not fists

Get back on your treadmill and earn your pellet drone.

obviously skyrim
morrowind has pretty much no pornographic content worth using
oblivion is janky as fuck
skyrim has 8 years of dedicated modding to fuel any degenerate's needs

I could what, make sense of it? Because I already did. Or were you referring to something else?

Attached: 1557179963913.jpg (605x558, 35K)

You talk like someone who learned a few new words and think they sound smart, but you fucked up when you failed to use any punctuation, at all.

I believe you don't pay attention, because you come off as thoughtless.

That puzzled you?
You claimed you could say that about any game. seeI agreed you could say that but with the qualifier that it would not make sense in most cases..

Oh noes I've been downboated

You can put any game title and it would work.
Eg. "Stop defending dark souls/minecraft/WoW/cooking mama/god of war, you are like an abused spouse defending their abuser."

Stop defending Tetris your like an abused spouse defending there abuser.
See how in this instance it makes no sense!

Did I use the grammars right$

But it makes perfect sense.

It's probably the best story you'll ever get from a Skyrim mod. It's my favorite story/world in general

There's a fucking train in it.

What is this, why should I play it, and do I have any chance of enjoying it if I thought Skyrim was boring af

Skyrim total conversion mod. It's made by based kraut chads and they made their own DLC that came out this year. Yes. The combat is ultimately the same but the world and story don't compare to Skyrim. Did i mention there was a train?

But what do they eat

each other.

As long as there is more variety in the enemies and dungeons than Skyrim i'd be interested I guess - does it have a decent story?

>SNAKE GET DOWN

The story is it's strongest element.

Is there a modpack somewhere?

I have no idea which mods people consider "essential" these days. I haven't played the game for years and the last time i played it was a vanilla playthrough.

Maybe i'll give it a go sometime, how long would you say it takes to do the majority of the main/interesting content?

The main story is easily 30-40 hours if you speed through it. The side quests are also good. There aren't any generated quests like in Skyrim.

There's a condition where you can't be near cliffs/high places because you get the uncontrollable urge to jump off.

Anyone looking to pick this game up (again) I highly recommend next to installing the unofficial patches to also installing Galerion Natural Leveling at least to fix the leveling without overhauling it completely like other mods do. You'll thank me later.

Ughh ok maybe I won't play through it, I don't really have that much time on my hands - was hoping it would be more like 10-20

BUMP

There was the helmet of underwater breathing and glwing. Which you needed the helmet to get really

>modpacks
What is this, Minecraft? You can make modpacks for Oblivion.

Get the unofficial patches, OBSE, EngineBugFixes, Simple Saves, Blockhead, Oblivion Character Overhaul v2, Robert's Males, HGEC body, Seamless OCO v2 (and if you're a huge modding noob just install idiot version, but you won't get your big titties that way, but the ass and hips are still nice), DarNifiedUI, ConScribe, DarNifiedUI Config Addon and get any leveling mod, I recommend Galerion Natural Leveling. For upscaled textures grab any of the ones that have been made recently, like Oblivion Upscaled Textures.
I highly recommend installing DarNifiedUI with the Oblivion Mod Manager because of the installer with descriptions and visuals, however. Grab Wrye Bash for the bashed patch and BOSS/LOOT for load order management.

Summerset Isles or Black Marsh for VI?

You can't make modpacks*

What's with all the TES threads recently?

Attached: huh.gif (504x504, 765K)

it was fucking great though

people realise they're comfy games
minus skyrim

It's gonna be Hammerfell but Black Marsh would be fucking sick, but it'd also cause a lot of complaints when 90% of players can't even explore the whole area.

Blame youtube.

Some eceleb made a video about himself revisiting Oblivion and now everyone is copying it and you have dozens of videos with people replaying Oblivion. Which of course results into people playing it again.

Attached: file.png (144x104, 2K)

I'm glad I grew up in a generation with independent thought.

Yea but there's been fairly consistent threads for morrowind too.

I grinded my ass off, not sure how many hours I spent looking for ritual items or whatever the fuck they were

Yeah because it only started with Oblivion.
After that people made videos about F3 and Morrowind as well.

>give ESO a try
>when vanilla wow is about to come out and kill it

Attached: 1564629099948.png (269x328, 93K)

the pickpocket quest and some of the rep grinding quests were pretty irritating, but the grind wasn't bad at all if you realized you can choose which rep quest you want and just do the safebox one repeatedly
storywise it was the most enjoyable thief questline in the whole series imo, all the locations were great and abah's landing is the only city in TES that actually felt like a city to me

least it was before the knife-ears fucked everythang up

AAA can't have stuff that won't be immediately clear to the average (retarded) user

Based. Also Vivec and Gnisis

That's more a Morrowind thing desu

Hopefully Skyblivion is kino

hand to hand is a trash skill in oblivion unless you are playing on very easy because your fists are primarily for dealing fatigue damage of which enemies regenerate very quickly. Good for 1v1, not so good when you've got a dremora spellcaster shooting fireballs at you while you punch the shit out of his summoned scamp, only for him to immediately summon another one, and if you try to go for him, he will just run away with his insane movement speed. Same with literally every other spellcaster.

Or bandits. You will get gangbanged by bandits using hand-to-hand. And blocking with fists still does health damage, so have fun face-tanking every attack, or trying to dodge attacks in between hits when you are being attacked by 3 bandits who are fucking your shit up.

It's also ass to level, and the more powerful enemies later on will just destroy you.

>Witcher 3 set the bar for what a living town should look like
lmao what. towns in the witcher are carboard props

I do not feel a shred of comfyness looking at this image
The fuckugly green filter isn't helping at all

Imagine a single player elder scrolls with morrowind/oblivion/skyrim all in one map. In oblivion's art style and engine.

Attached: 1562921095830.jpg (448x398, 136K)

Balmora is my favourite settlement in any elder scrolls game. I think it's because it's the only town that feels real.

>oblivion's art style
Generic fantasy? No thanks.

That's why they're called fantasy games.

Liking Blandmora.
Do you spice your food with water too?
