Does Valve actually produce ANYTHING of value these days or are they only leeching revenue from other people's sweat? Tell me again why they deserve the monopoly

reminds me of a prison

but its china so i supposed that's common place

I remember the day Portal 2 released my friend and I were beyond our selves with excitement because we knew we were in for a guaranteed good time because it was Valve, now they have the complete opposite effect

They don't deserve any kind of monopoly. But right now they are have the best distribution platform by far. They're shit at being game devs tho.

Valve is not in the position of a monopoly.

they can press the 3 button at any time, they are fine
Yea Forums is a huge valve homebase as well if you didn't notice by the huge TF2 fanbase

Its very likely they are hiding some really big projects and these are just trash to fill the void.

If their upcoming consumer stuff is worth anything near the time and legacy, valve will be saved.

Nigger that looks like a subway

The Steam Controller didn't take to the masses but it is the best controller on the market

>Its very likely they are hiding some really big projects and these are just trash to fill the void.
ive heard this for 8 years

Those are Japanese characters...

Your momas tiddys flopped when I fugged her

>want to buy a Valve Index
>not available in my country (Japan)
Why is Valve so fucking retarded?

dont bother. the porn isnt worth it

They managed to produce only 2000 units.

I really need a VR headset though. I set up a room in my apartment specifically for VR and now I'm salty because all other headsets don't seem to be as good as the Index

Lie.

I love Mireska!

>Counter Strike Battle Royale: FLOPPED
you don't play cs at all do you?

>Underlords: SOLD

i stopped because nordic countries are forced to play with russians so literally every game has atleast one cheater making the game unplayable

Was probably right 8 years ago too. But they were still releasing things around then.

Most of their big stuff just never makes it out of development hell. Wouldnt be surprised if the stuff they are working on now meets the same fate.
But should it release, you can be sure they will be atleast as good as l4d and portal series.

t. bad

>hype up source 2 for years
>it releases
>its the same exact shit

>you can be sure they will be atleast as good as l4d and portal series.
all the talent left valve years ago. just look at artifact. they have no fucking clue what they are doing.

There was a CS battle royale? Huh, never even heard of it until now.

You are still alive? Never thought I would see you change your pasta.

>Does Valve actually produce ANYTHING of value
Yes,they keep up steam as a functioning platform plus dota2 and csgo are pretty healthy in terms of playerbase and...dare I say...esports.I don't use steam anymore though, switched to chinese spyware store since it has the games I want.

GoG has the best distribution platform now by far. Not being Epic doesn't make Valve worthwhile.

Valve's free employee structure where people can enter and exit projects whenever they want is disastrous. How can you expect anything to be finished when people hop onto the next big idea and leave current projects in limbo?

I'm not an expert in moon runes, but I recognize a bunch of kanjis there dude, that's not China

At this point Valve is pretty much Steam and anything else they do feels like they do for fun. Most CS:GO and DOTA2 people seem to be relatively satisfied at the moment. Sure, it's not the case, but the point is that anything not involving steam is pretty inconsequential.

Agreed.
Honestly being so configurable meant it never would see wide adoption. The main controller audience can't handle much more than plug and play.
That being said once you sit down and really learn all that you can do with it, it's hands down one of the best controllers on the market.

It isn't a game, just a newish gamemode in CSGO.

Sounds like shit trust factor.I live in Ukraine and most players I get are friendly russians who actually play the game.

>valve is basically a bunch of sociopaths and autists gaming the company's system of bonuses to start ten thousand ideas and then drop them once the check clears

>GoG has the best distribution platform now by far
Well... yes and no. The fact that it's limited to old games and indies and that update shit is a big bummer. Still, great offers and the fact that it's DRM makes it worthwhile.

You can only handle russians screaming their own language and ignoring all english communication for so long. The most cancerous people you could think off but not as bad as the chinese of course.

>Valve Index: FLOPPED

Because I can download my games at 100MB/s plus Steam sells games dirt cheap in my country

>monopoly
There's that word again, chink.

There is no source 2 release.

>monopoly
There are plenty of competitors that flopped because their devs would rather use the platforms for their own games than anything else while not doing much, GOG is the most successful. Just because Steam has the largest share of players doesn't mean it's a monopoly

Sure there's no complete SDK but Dota 2 runs on Source 2 and you can mod that shit so.

Artifact was a random idea that big heads gave the green light for no apparent reason.

Talent is just necessary in one or two people leading the whole gig. This means it will take a long ass time with them making various departments throw their month of work in the trash and try again.
Valve has been hiring rock stars for a long time.

kanji are chinese characters though

Japanese kanji is derived from Chinese alphabet. The moon rune in that pic is Chinese. If it's Japanese it'd have some Hiragana or Katakana in it (just a general rule of thumb). Plus the event is held in China, so there's a bigger chance that this ad is in China

Dota underlords is going to be dead in a couple weeks. This game used to do 100k+ average for a bit, and I thought it wouldn't die like Artifact - but I was wrong

Attached: dota underlords a flop 2.jpg (1607x867, 273K)

nobody plays dota in japan

Valve is playing a long game. They aren't public, so they don't have shareholders breathing down their necks to increase revenues every quarter. They don't really have to DO anything and they'll keep making more money. They have practically infinite time and money, so they're making investments in areas yet to be established so they can dominate in those areas by being early enough to market, just as they did with Steam.

>Valve is playing a long game

Of doing nothing and letting their empire crumble, we know that

Unfortunately Valve's closest server farm to Russia is in Stockholm Sweden. A lot of Russian players speak Russian in voice chat. That makes using in game voice chat impossible. That is before we get to the 12 year old aimbotters.

Adult Russian players are generally cool and even willing to stick to their usually broken English on US and European servers. Shit, in some slower tempo indie tactical FPS's people may even switch to speaking English on Russian servers if that helps teamwork in case foreigners not fluent in Russian appear on their server. People playing those games tend to be adults, they might even see something beneficial of actually speaking foreign language to improve their own skill in it.

True. Especially the spoiler tagged part.

Why are Steam drones inherently so cringe?

i am still waiting for steam os killing or getting direct x support. its the only thing keeping me from playing and changing the OS!

God you're such a little retarded faggot

You forgot the index. But that’s bot just a case of Valve failing, that’s a case of Vavle destroying VR entirely by not putting out a good affordable model for pc when it was needed most and they perfectly able to sell at a loss safely.

>tell me again why they deserve the monopoly
They don't, that's why I get everything I can on GOG or physical, if it's not just a plastic case with a Steam code inside.

Steam doesn't really have exclusives in sense that Valve is paying for developers to keep their games out of competing store fronts. Some devs might just avoid using other storefronts because there isn't sales volume to justify bothering with other stores.

Valve is if anything the lesser evil when it comes to major gaming companies.

Just try Steam and SteamPlay on some linux distro.

>buy game
>its shit

>Does Valve actually produce ANYTHING of value these days
Their Steamplay for linux is pretty amazing and a huge contribution to to gaming.

They're idling their wealth and foundation away. At this rate the EGS or whatever other companies store (Origin, Uplay, etc) will outpace them and beat them. I wish they would just tell us what the fuck they're working on, if they're even working on anything...

Index is overpriced.

The talent has to all be gone by now, how long can you stand working at a games company and never make an actual game because being a digital walmart is more profitable

When the VR wave hits and becomes the norm which it iwll for sure,

valve will be at the top because they are working on the index and their new physics based vr games , they are going to pioneer the VR future

people keep talking about the shit valve is going to do instead of what they have done

The steam controller is great though.

That's the point. Yes, the Index is the best consumer headset right now. But is it $600 better than everything else? Unless you have money to burn, no.

L4D and Portal weren't even Valve games originally. They were indie games that Valve bought and polished up.

Dota underlords is already a flop.

There is zero fucking reason to play it when team fight tactics is out. It's dead already and every streamer has abandoned it.

They're not a monopoly yet, but if they follow the bad example that EGS is giving em, they might turn into it.

What happened to that eye for talent? They haven't done shit in ages.

Why would you ever use it if you have a Xbox controller

Fuck Valve, fuck Gabe, fuck Steam. I hope Gabe gets cancer.

I like the level of customization it offers. Not saying that I dislike the xbox controller, I like the steam one more is all.

why would anyone want to use the shitty xbox controller

Damn, we are siding with insects now huh?

L4D was a Turtle Rock game and Portal was a student project. Valve bought them and hired their devs, finished them up, and released them under the Valve name.

No one is talking about China or Tencent. We're talking about Valve, the game developer, being absolutely worthless.

Want my honest opinion? Valve is now worse than EA, Activision, and ubisoft.

Those studios are so easy to point the finger at as villains but let's be real here. At least those studios try. At least those studios try to deliver a product a customer wants.

VALVE does the same garbage those companies do BUT they fail miserably for years and never deliver what fans want anymore. You faggot valve dick suckers can say what you want but at least those companies don't abandon franchises that their Fans love to death. You say companies like EA don't care about fans? Well where is the new portal, HL3, TF2, RICCOCHET 2!!!!

I'm still mad they took steam link, literally the only thing they made that people actually used, and threw it in the garbage to work on a significantly less functional app. for phones. Why? I don't understand.

So what did dota do to you? Kill the rts genre? Steal your friends? Piss in your mouth?

Remind me again what did the customers wanted?

all valve games were created outside valve except for half life

Muh hl3. As if valve was the only dev sitting on a beloved IP and not making new games for it.

It's still free to play for anybody. How is the full release gonna change?

>threw it in the garbage
Did they?
Enlighten me, please.

Which monopoly? Second I can actually post a review on their store.

Ugh... You can't play TF, Dota and CS:GO without Steam.

What exactly was wrong with Artifact?

Cost 20 bucks despite every other card game being free, no way to grind for packs on release, game modes cost money, too complicated for simpletons, no flashy cards

Retards. Valve aren't interesting in being EA and rehashing the same shit over and over. They'd rather invest in things that drive the industry forward. A lot of those ideas fail, otherwise have been literal game changers.

False

The game itself cost money, the cards needed to play it cost money, and playing ranked cost money. The game went out of its way to nickel and dime the shit out of you for stuff that other card games offer for free

counter strike had a battle royale?

Steam controller didn't flop. Neither did Danger Zone.

I had a dream where Gabe sold dairy products instead of shitty games and he came to E3 to announce that he was releasing a beef broth soup to go with his premade bagles and cream cheese, and everybody was disappointed that the reveal wasn't parfaits.

but it's alive and well, both in the West and especially in China. do you think they are remaking it so nerds can play Dota Allstars again?

>Tell me again why they deserve the monopoly

There's literally nothing the other clients do that steam doesn't do better.

As much as I hate what valve has become, steam is still somehow the best online launcher by features and functionality alone

Find some middlemen that will do his job for some shekels.

>all of these shitty gimmicks nobody gives a fuck about
Steam is simply the worst.

It's just hilarious that all this stuff flopped because they were too lazy to make their stuff viable. I actually bought the controller and it's amazing, just barely any game uses it.

So first of all, the Steam Controller didn't flop. It was actually quite successful.
Steam Machine? Yeah that flopped, no denying that. The problem was they didn't put enough effort into it, if they wanted to corner the HTPC market they needed to accommodate physical media like blurays and cds. The Big Picture interface had no support for video media and barely supported audio media, and ran like ass. Now imagine building an entire computer around something that had less features than Windows 95. (This also extends to Steam OS).
Artifact was a flop because it was a fad chasing title at the end of a fad, released at the wrong time to a crowd that was expecting something half-life related.
And again, CS:GO:BR was a fad chase.

So yeah, they don't produce any games anymore. But they still have one of the better online stores, featuring multiple currencies, user reviews and even a shopping cart. I'd say their service is pretty decent.

Attached: fuckoffchina.jpg (499x500, 61K)

Thou are simply the gayest

>$0.03 has been deposited to your steam wallet

alot of them are gimmicks (big picture, badges, trading cards, community shit)
alot of them are also shit we just take for granted (automated refunds, anti-cheat, version rollback, universal controller support, 3rd party/DRM support, install folder relocation)

Same. I get more use out of the controller as a "i'm too lazy to get up out of bed to click the skip intro button or im still awake button on netflix" tool.

>implies im shilling steam

Here, let me space it out in a format you can read, and i'll use less words too so your brain no hurty.

Steam controller good, can use as remote mouse.

Steam OS bad, doesnt support video in big picture

Steam Machine bad, see steam os bad.

Artifact bad, was just fad chase when fad dying.

CSGO BR bad, was just fad chase.

Steam ok, better than other store that no have cart. Steam not perfect, but steam ok.

They pretty much did that with all their franchises minus Dota and now even with Campo Santos next game.

They are the literal Midas with the Shittouch.

Valve did it to themselves with their hyper-socialist work culture/environment. It is a supremely toxic place to work where nothing ever gets done since 98% of the time it's loud-mouthed/low-talent employees playing power games against each other with no real end goal. Every single oen of Valve's "flop" decisions reflects this, since they're all obviously from the minds of overbearing personalities with little actual vision.

CS Battle Royale? I dont remember even hearing of this thing on the list.

The Index is quite the nice piece of hardware imo. My favourite VR HMD so far.

Idk about the workplace but i always got a sense that their problem was a lack of commitment. Shit like Big Picture constantly feels like they just sorta half-assed the entire thing and when they hit the first major hurdle they just sorta abandoned it.

Yeah, they had some weird name for it and it was a mild spin off of the typical "just add water" recipe for battle royale, but really it was only changed at the surface level, and if you dug deep enough you'd realize its literally just deathmatch but with extra steps.

I haven't checked if they are available in Australia yet. Worth the investment or should I just wait until there's more to play than Pavlov or whatever...

is it worth investing in Artifact cards if valve is going to fix the game?

no. Don't invest into artifact.

>he thinks valve wil fix underlords or artifact
HAHAHAHA

Attached: 3.png (388x488, 110K)

>if valve is going to fix the game?

Isn't underlords just unpopular

It flopped so hard it's not even funny. It's one of the shittest BR game ever made

Valve isn't gonna update Artifact. Valve always abandon failed projects.

They abandon even successful projects like TF2

Zoey to sit on my dick.

>They'd rather invest in things that drive the industry forward.
So that's why they've made nothing but minimal effort cash grabs chasing the latest trends?

wtf tell me that was Reddit falseflagging.......

They've made an input API that isn't limited trash like Xinput and a controller that takes full advantage of it sadly it's tied to Steam.
They've heavily invested in Linux.
They've heavily invested in VR.
Not everything pushing the industry forwards is done by developing games themselves.

>vr
bullshit
>controller
nobody uses it
they should release source 2 to contribute (like tim with unreal) something, not money laundering bullshit

Monopoly is when there is NO competition and a single entity controls the entirety of the market for a given service/good, including supply. Steam is not without competitors and it is not the only place you can purchase video games from.

Steam is not a monopoly.

Gimmick.
Gimmick.

Fuck off with these shitty gimmicks.

>They've heavily invested in VR.
Still not a single amazing VR game worth playing, don't care.
So basically you're saying they did things that are irrelevant to everyone besides a tiny group of people and for the rest they continue to look for whales with Dota/CS and suck people dry of their money for skins.
Valve is a garbage company and Artifact truly brought it home. It's one thing when you have different failed projects, it's another when you see incompetency at that level.

maybe if you're an underage tranny

steam won't even notice any drop of users in the next 15-20 years, you're retarded if you think epic store is going to make any significant dent before that

avant garde things are usually only relevant to few people initially.

>Tell me again why they deserve the monopoly

the product they offer is way better than anything their competitors offer, even if it's not perfect

>don't care about linux
Enjoy Microsoft's eventual locking down of their shitty OS and having no place to go, dumbfuck. If you're not using GNU/Linux by now, I don't know what the fuck you're goddamn doing.

Depends if you own a vive or not to take advantage of the modular system they have going on.
The base stations are significantly overpriced and the controllers are too on a smaller scale but the headset itself is actually a good price.
If you just get the headset and use your existing vive wands + baystations it's a good deal.

Attached: Bug politics.jpg (925x583, 193K)

Nah I dont have a vive yet. I was unironically waiting for valves headset as soon as details were leaked.

Before that I was buying hardware to support a vive.

Amazing excuse for Valve not making any game. I'm sure they're putting all those hundreds of millions into Linux research, so much so that they just can't handle making even a fucking card game, lmao. Just pathetic.

Yea Forums is infested with tranny liberal cuckold faggots now. We should get /pol/ to reoccupy the place.

>Amazing excuse for Valve not making any game
Yeah who cares if valve is making games or about their other projects. They could fail a 100 times on other projects doesn't change shit for Steam, users will still use it over Epic. Epic is a tainted piece of shit launcher because Sweeney is a walking PR disaster. Odds are you don't even care about it either, you're just here to troll like 99% of the Epic "shills".

Isnt steam the most profitable company in america based on earnings per employee?

I don't even have an Epic account, you dumb fuck. Valve and Epic can both eat shit. No GOG no buy.

To make creative games that run super smooth.

They got greedy off the money they were making on Steam in trades. They really did help keep developers on PC during the Gen 7 when consoles were largely dominant.

Valve deserves to get fucked desu. That might actually push them to make real games again.

I know you don't because you're just a dumb ass concern trolling and spewing the same moronic talking points that hold no real value. Steam brushes off failure, they're here to stay, cope.

Steam is on the decline from 2015, they are literaly dying

>Steam brushes off failure, they're here to stay, cope.
No shit, there's like a million Russians that will pay a thousand dollars just to pay a mobile game if Gaben asked them to. Not to mention the trannies and furry subhumanites that treat it like its Facebook. I literally don't give a shit if Steam/Epic exist, because I am going to pirate any game that get released that way anyway, and buy the rest on GOG. I'm not going to stop reiterating that Valve is garbo just because people are invested in Steam.

People were saying this in 2010, GoG hda major lay offs in February due to financial issues. When and if they go over, your new home will be Steam little guy.
>because I am going to pirate any game that get released that way anyway
Unless it has denuvo right? Then in most cases you'll wait for maybe a year or more.

So glad Valve is finally bleeding out.
Years of reddit-tier brainwashed valve drones thinking they speak for everyone with a desktop was hell.

they've never made anything good except for half life 1

>Unless it has denuvo right? Then in most cases you'll wait for maybe a year or more.
Hasn't happened for me yet to want to play a game that wasn't cracked, and I don't care about playing at release at all - I'll probably wait for the "timed exclusives" to release on GOG. As for other games like Anno, I already buy those on the original store.

>I give Ubisoft money
LOL

They’re working on Half Life VR according to Valve News Network. It’s guaranteed shit.

NO IT HASN'T!

Valve's support for loonix amounts to pouring barrels of cash into wine and wine-likes. Why even bother painstakingly trying to emulate Windows through a third-party application with a fucking storefront on top of that? You may as well just run windows in a virtual layer at that point.

What monopoly?
Not bought anything from steam in years, their sales are garbage now. 30% is not a hot fucking deal.

Absolutely, Anno is amazing and so was Origins, I'd literally pay double to have both. Call me up when Ubisoft stops making games and just becomes a parasite leeching off of everyone else, be it devs or consumers, you dumb fucking drone.

It's only natural really. Customers are fucking retards but most people do eventually get to a point where they have Enough Games and stop impulse buying $50-100 dollars worth of shit every single sale.

if soon is several decades maybe

Portal 2 is where it went south, though. I still loved the game, and even when replaying it now I couldn't bring myself to dislike it, I think it's very funny. BUT you can see how Valve changed - loading screens now have pictures, which ruins their tradition of not showing ANYTHING meta from start to finish. Or things like most props being static, not allowing us to fuck around with them. Generic music (still great, though) instead of unique tunes that you could never have found anything similar to. The closest thing to Kelly Bailey I found since 1998 is this song with it's low echoey drums and long guitar riffs.

They're going to get worse as all the big companies move over to Epic for the 10% cut. When you only have to give up 10% you can afford selling games for way less on a sale to make more money.

both of the recent trends are excessively easy to make cash grabs for. a card game and "drop players into a map" the game mode.

Not really, there's constant threads during sales of these mongs buying 10-20 games for no reason that they literally will never, EVER, play. It's ironic as fuck, since every single time I go to the profile to one of these losers they're always the type of autists that only play one (1) game and instead invest the rest of their money in upgrading their account level and shit. It's all so tiresome.
Portal 2 was soulless and I've never gone back to it except to do multiplayer shit with my mom/wife. Portal 1 was a true classic that should've stayed untouched.

>can't play with Steam users on all games
>don't get the same updates
>nogames.png

I like GoG as an idea. As a store, it's pretty sparse. I still buy some stuff there just to support it, but Steam has a lot more going for it.

user just because you bought all the 50%+ sales that were already out for several years doesnt mean there aren't other games still goig on sale for 50%+

Only so many games can come out a year

>Yeah I pirate games.
>But I love to give Ubisoft money

>Portal 2 was soulless and I've never gone back to it except to do multiplayer shit with my mom/wife. Portal 1 was a true classic that should've stayed untouched.

I agree completely, and I expected that kind of feeling when replaying it recently with a friend (singleplayer), but I couldn't help myself, it was still funny for me.

It's true though, the only game that you could honestly say Valve developed was Portal 2.

summer sale had some of the best discounts in ages if you put effort on getting those -5$s.

your fault if you just glance at the front page and shrug if you dont see 1$ price tag

AKATCHUALLY If you play Apatuer Hand Labs you'll see Valve still have it.

Wrongwrongwrong. Portal was not "polished up mod" it was the team who made Narbacular Drop being hired to make a new game based on their portal concept. It's not a polished up mod. It's a concept having an entirely new game developed around.

>don’t abandon franchises
Kotor
Dead Space
Skate

I don't see the problem here triggered drone.
>company scams me into buying game to stick to their shitty platform while they're middle-man parasites
>company makes good game and so i pay them for the product
Pretty simple. Ubisoft makes the exact kind of games no one else does and I've always liked them as a company apart from a few missteps. Anno and PoP are some of the best PC series of all time. And before you say GOG is the same, GOG doesn't force me to keep anything on to play games, which is why I'll continue to use it for devs that aren't retarded enough to go for Steam/Epic only. Seethe more.

Don't bother, he's a moron and likely trolling.

>Ubi didn't abandon Prince of Persia
>EA didn't abandon the long list of devs and IPs they've murdered

holy shit, I don't even care about Valve, but your entire post is false and wrong.

Based Portal 1 fans. Portal 2 had its own charm, but it definitely did not live up to what 1 was. 2 relied much more on pure comedy to sell itself. 1 had a much harder to achieve blend between the solitude and uncertainty that being in Aperture caused, and the somewhat out of places jokes coming out of much more robotic-like GLaDOS that further sold on how strange the whole place was, while never giving away too much that'd allow you to know exactly what was going on, not until the very end at least. Portal 2's story, despite being longer, is much more average. They basically feed everything about what's going on to you from the get-go. Whether making Portal 1 be as I said was intentional or not, it doesn't matter because they created a game that absorbed you in a much more engaging way than what 2 did.

I hated how most of Portal 2 stages were like a point and click adventure where you look for that one piece of wall that allows portals from across the map.

DotaGods be like

Attached: 1520875374793.jpg (2158x1136, 1.45M)

>make billions every year
>care about anything
nope

Pretty much. Portal 1 was never meant as a comedic game, and GLaDOS was cool exactly for that reason. 2 jumped the shark by going for full comedy. I still remember that part where you hear the voice of Peter Parker's boss from Spiderman... that's when I knew this was going way too far. I think the only way Portal 2 would've worked is if by the end it did the reverse of 1 when everyone expect 'lulz' and went super fucking dark and unsettling instead. They just weren't creative enough.

The humor is the only thing going for these demos. Last one I played was The Lab and robot repair was funny.
>Rest assured, while robots do feel pain, they cannot express it
>Please take your time. You have 30 seconds at which point the thermal reactor that is currently uncoupled from it's heat exchange unit will detonate. Alert claxon deployed.
>Again, take your time. 15 second claxon deployed.
>Increased heartrate detected, ocean sounds relaxation claxon deployed

But I think this kind of humor will go stale, and no matter that the writers are talented, if they don't think of something new, even humor won't save their games.

That and the complex itself was much more cooler in Portal 1. It felt real and mysterious, down to earth, like something you'd really find in HL universe. Portal 2 complex was amazing in terms of sci-fi, and I wouldn't be mad at it if it wasn't retrofitted into HL universe and was it's own thing instead.

>Tell me again why they deserve the monopoly
There is no monopoly.

>But I think this kind of humor will go stale, and no matter that the writers are talented, if they don't think of something new, even humor won't save their games.

It already happened. Picrelated. While I found this to be hilarious, you can already see a pattern in their jokes with the latest demos.

>Whether making Portal 1 be as I said was intentional or not

Limitations suck the best things out of developers. Portal 1 had an extremely limited budget and 8 persons working on it. It was just a test they shipped with the orange box, not expecting anything. Same with many games like EYE. Because of it's limitations and bad english, it has it's unique charm. Imagine if they made EYE 2 but this time with much bigger budget and *intentionally* wacky ~weird~ story and "bad" english. It would be souless.

Made me think of Max Payne 1 and 2. In the first game, all of the characters were developers/family playing roles. It was extremely cute.

>no arguments except dumb reactions from 5 years ago
The absolute state of drones. Go pay for another level-up on your profile, gaywad.

Nah dude, it's all good. You like climbing towers, collecting a bunch of nothing and being told you're third class when it comes to consumers.

>climbing towers, collecting a bunch of nothing
If you mean Origins, I like historical settings, and no one else besides Ubisoft does them. Yes, the subpar gameplay is worth putting up with for the rest, and Origins is still one of the best-looking games I've played this gen unmodded.
>being told you're third class when it comes to consumers.
I don't care what I'm "told", drone, I can actually look at what companies do and what they use their services for. Laugh at Ubisoft for making cookiecutter games all you want, they aren't the people that made a card game with the main goal of squeezing out money from card sales. Not only is Valve pathetic, but they're not even close to being in the position to be this pathetic. It's like watching a billionaire being a cunt over $50, it's below them, and it's cringe.

>If you mean Origins
No I mean every action Ubisoft game
>I like historical settings, and no one else besides Ubisoft does them
Yeah they do.and they do them better and actually more accurately.
>Yes, the subpar gameplay is worth putting up with for the rest
LOL
>can actually look at what companies do and what they use their services for
What ever you say consumer cuck boy masquerading as a pirate.

Not going to bother reading the rest of your post, I don't talk to Ubicucks.

>If you mean Origins, I like historical settings, and no one else besides Ubisoft does them.

>Install ACIII
>Spend what felt like forever just exploring the amazingly detailed town while doing some very minimal and down-to earth climbing to check out vertical locations
>Get 100% immersed into the game world, everything feels like it's real and have weight
>"Maybe I should get to actually progressing the story"
>Literally first mission on land
>"Oh no, a group of enemies"
>Mash some buttons
>MC just slashes them like it's nothing
>Instantly and completely fall out of the experience, felt like a shock of realization "Oh no, it's still a casual game where you kill dozens with no skill or strategy or weight to the combat"
>quit and uninstall
>never play an AC game

This was a transforming experience. Imagine if the combat was slow and souls-like, damn.

I never said every Ubisoft game, dumb drone. I haven't even bought most of them.
>>Yeah they do.and they do them better and actually more accurately.
>can't mention even one
Name them, son.
>LOL
Evasive nonanswer, keep trying though, at least when you aren't busy slurping up cum you dumb Steam tranny.
>What ever you say consumer cuck boy masquerading as a pirate.
I don't masquerade as a pirate at all, I said I pirate games that are released on Steam/Epic, and will continue to do so. I haven't bought a Steam game in at least 5 years, and won't.
>>Not going to bother reading the rest of your post, I don't talk to Ubicucks.
Yes, because you have no arguments. I'll be waiting to hear of those historical games comparable to Ubisoft's.

Didn't read Ubicuck, seethe more.

Attached: 1564091010362.jpg (700x700, 177K)

That's because you can't actually name a single historical game that isn't from Ubisoft that's supposedly more competently done. You're a retarded strawmanning drone that can't take the fact that people are packing up and leaving your shitty Facebook-wanna be trash forever.

Damn dude I wish I could find historically accurate games like Origins.

Attached: large.jpg (1200x675, 146K)

Name. The. Games. I never claimed at any point that Ubisoft's games were amazingly accurate, only that they do offer comfy historical environments. Now drone, mention those games, you said they exist, where are they? Funny how subhuman low-IQ trannies are absolutely incapable of providing arguments for their OWN claims. You're buttblasted as fuck over me buying like 3 games on Ubisoft's service, and that's enough evidence of how fucking stupid you are. So name them. What are the games? And they better not be some 4x map-only shit or mobile games. Name. The. Games. Tranny. Too busy dilating and buying a new Steam profile theme?

>all those jovial spirits and OCs
>all that goodwill
How did everything went so wrong bros

Find them yourself cuck baby.
store.steampowered.com/tags/en/Historical/

Glad to see you're still incapable of naming a single one three replies later because you know you'll be called out on it being fucking garbage. Seethe more on your tranny platform, drone, I'll make sure to keep telling everyone not to touch that shithole and stick to GOG-only.

Epic tranny can't find its own games, wants to suck on my cock for a list of game.

It's more about siding with facts you fucking retard

Not him, but as for historical games I like Verdun, War Thunder and Kingdom Come Deliverance.

I'm not sure what you're looking for though as I couldn't sit through the second half of AC2.

>Verdun, War Thunder
We're clearly not talking about fucking 20th century games here.
>Kingdom Come Deliverance
The fuck are you talking about, man, the environments are repetitive garbage, compare the amount of biomes in Origins vs. those in Kingdom Come. I don't hate Kingdom Come, but I certainly didn't purchase it for its generic setting. The reality is that there is no one, literally NO ONE that does historical games like Ubisoft does with the same scale, attention to detail, and graphical fidelity. The rest are all WW1/WW2 shit or medieval crap, or maybe 4X games. There used to be Total War but that series is such garbage it's not even worth getting into for the historical settings. I haven't bought TK and am not planning to anytime soon.
>I'm not sure what you're looking for though as I couldn't sit through the second half of AC2.
I mean AC2 is old as fuck by now, and really it didn't do such a great job of the setting. AC1 was probably better in terms of setting by a lot, though I would recommend Origins. Literally at least pirate it and just ride around the world.

>the environments are repetitive garbage
Yeah I suppose
>the amount of biomes in Origins vs. those in Kingdom Come
Take a trip across europe sometime, it's pretty accurate in my opinion and it did enough to immerse me.
>Literally at least pirate it and just ride around the world.
I know I wouldn't be able to sit through it, the Ubisoft formula is incompatible with me and I can tell from the video I just watched that I don't like the combat, I also DESPISE deserts in video games and in real life.
This is not the same thing as me saying you or others shouldn't enjoy it though.

Why does epic deserve the monopoly then? They've been actively making video games worse with Fortnite.

they never really did anything that crazy
they made halflife on the quake 2 engines source code and its kind of like bungie's marathon but 3D, and its shooting is worst than quake 1s
everything else they took after it was a success

team fortress, mod for quake
portal, made by college students
dota, started as a warcraft fan made mode
counter strike, mod for quake
its like all they really have to their name is left 4 dead and haflife
I think gamers just overly romanticized valve, they were never that good really
