chapter 2 sucks balls from a pure gameplay perspective but the first 20 hours or so are brilliant

MGSV was my first introduction to the franchise, had I not played V I would never have played the old ones. And I gotta say, the old ones are baaaad, if you play them without rose-tinted, nostalgia goggles, they are baaaad. V has a few problems but the other games are so scattered and lazily done it is a wonder the series lasted this long. I understand a lot of the issues were due to Kojima being at the helm and if Konami decides to continue on with the franchise it will be exciting to see what they can actually do with it. Kojima's already off making that fucking walking simulator with le celebrities so inevitably it will be trash.

I'm close to getting the Platinum. Just a few mission tasks and S ranks left to go. The story's pretty bullshit but the gameplay is just too good for me to stop playing it. I hate the fact that the dog walks into enemies or into my LOS all the time and that in top of being the Fulton button, triangle is used both for getting into a vehicle as well as for climbing over ledges. I hate some of the geometry in Africa as well. So many bumps in the Savannah over which Snake should be able to walk without any difficulty and he just gets stuck for no reason.
