Same user as I actually popped in Outbreak yesterday and forgot how fucking annoying the loading screens were when going from room to room, especially since the game is essentially a speed run. I can't wait for the hard drive to arrive so I can try out the online, I never played it back in it's heyday.

6th gen is the beginning of the end, whereas 7th gen was the end.

I'd argue that the 7th gen was good to begin with. The first couple years on the 360 with games like Ninja Gaiden II and Ace Combat 6 were good. But it was definitely a step down from the 6th gen, and by the time of ~2009-2010 it was trash.

Resident Evil: Outbreak had you preload game data onto the hard drive expansion. This cut load times by 15% in the first game and as much as 25% in the sequel that followed. This didn't fix the lag, but it did make the game load faster.

I really loved the series. The only thing I really despised about the games were the load times. There's always random retards who fuck up the game. But it's an absolute play with your friends. Who was your favorite character, user?

I would always play as Yoko or Jim. I started off as Kevin and David, but I found that Yoko and Jim have the best dodges in the game.

By that definition the ps1 and Saturn are retro but the N64 isn't because it did real 3D.

I started off with Kevin because he sorta reminded me of Leon but over time I tried out other characters like David and Yoko and I honestly prefer using David in most cases because of his knife and Yoko for her backpack.

The consoles themselves were already trash in 7th gen, maybe not in terms of hardware but definitely in terms of interface and service focus.
