How is this difficult? They are dozens of game you can take as examples.

Same, buddy.
Although I'm reconsidering now that it's playable. Is it worth pursuing an FPS when there's so many of them, both contemporary and retro throwback, on the market? What would be a good genre that people want, and is unlikely to be filled in the next year or so? Third-person aRPG? Non-cover based TPS? Fucking Diablo 1 clone?

How can you be such a brainlet that you can't implement basic bullet physics?

>What would be a good genre that people want
That's a wrong attitude unless you're a bigger company, asasingle dev you should focuson making what you want, unless you have some experience in market research and related fields.

I'm in it from a standpoint of "asset generation, making BGM/SFX and mechanical implementation is pretty fine across the board and I'm fine with spending a couple of years on a bigger project, but I want people to play it".

Ah well, just having a whinge. Ignore it. On with your dream games, bros.

>realize my art sucks and I have no idea how to design good levels

just make it super hard and meme it the dark soul of FPS

last time I booted up my project on recent unity version the enemy characters were walking sideways and imported guns were all fucked

>been using unity as a sandbox to make test scenes demoing common game features like FPS movement and shooting
>can't sit down and commit to a real project

fug

Alright, enough work for today. At least I make the project.

wait until you realize that your dream was very fuzzily defined and you don't have enough imagination to fill the gaps
but don't worry, you gonna have a blast anyway. modding and gamedev is top fun
