Have to wait for Miyamoto to die otherwise you'll just get Starfox 64 for the 9th time but with some innovation forced upon it. Starfox 64 for Switch, with forced motion controls AND labo VR wouldn't surprise me at all and I hate it.

When Miyamoto dies.

Hopefully never, it's a completely mediocre franchise that always dissapoints the fanbase no matter what it does
>why is it so much like 64?
>why isn't it like 64?
>why is krystal not in?
>why is krystal in?
>why are there on foot sections?
>where are the on foot sections?
>why are the controls so frustrating?
>why are the controls so dumbed down?
>why couldn't it be like Assault/Adventures?
>Assault/Adventures was bad, why did they make it like those?
The starfox fanbase, much like the metroid fanbase, will never be happy.

The metroid fanbase has been mostly fine with anything not OtherM.

Samus Returns left a sour taste due to Nintendo's take down of AM2R but was otherwise a solid addition.

I wouldn't mind a port of Zero that removed the awful motion controls.

All they have to do is develop the characters/story and keep the gimmicks out. You absolutely cannot please everyone, but some sign of progression in the franchise is enough to jumpstart it.

Pic related is fucking hurting it.

Miyamoto is a gift from the Divine.
If he does go at least he will be in good company ;__;

no one cares about railshooters
why do you want a new one?

Not arguing that point but at least the gimmick is a cool showpiece.

Miyamoto is responsible for destroying a dozen of Nintendo's best franchises, homogenised many others and didn't even make a good Pikmin 3.

series is dead, genre is dead :(

Imo Starfox is a thing of its own and really I only need Starfox to fill that void. That said Nintendo can potentially work wonders given setting and potential means of expanding potential sequals a la BotW equivalent. that said nothing really needs to be addressed so long as they do a bang up job on a satisfying gaym.

The last one killed iwata. It needs to stay dead because they clearly will never be able to top 64 which is fine because the game is designed to be infinitely repayable

People don’t care anymore about games with stupid furry faggot characters

Make it a rail shooter like 64.
Put Krystal in, put Peppy or Slippy on the ship.
There's not much more to do than Land-Sea-Sky with the Landmaster, Blue Marine, and Arwing, so give me a mission where I command the Great Fox. High firepower, low maneuverability.

Super Starfox Maker.

I don’t want another railshooter, I want A GAME set in the starfox universe with at decent story/gameplay. I think an open world where you can’t take mercenary work, collect bounties, explore cities of whatever world you’re on by foot or in an arwing and get to know the characters more would be good. Stylize it like cowboy bebop.

>People don’t care anymore about games with stupid furry faggot characters
user that might be the stupidest statement I've seen in a while.
The Star Fox series is still in popular consciousness mainly because it is fur bait. The mountains of fan art, projects, dedications etc. have kept it alive even while it's developers have ignored it.

Now I just want to play some sins of a solar empire

What happened to the guy who spread rumor about Star Fox Grand Prix?

Starfox is a trash series and has gotten way more games than it's deserved

Make Krystal a villain, retire Peppy, bring in Miyu and Faye, make arwings that can turn into those gundam enemies from 64.

>Development
>Miyamoto

forget it. your best bet is new IPs and even he taints those if they're closer than 3rd party.

My favorite game is 2, and it has no on-rails sections at all. I like the arcade flight gameplay, I like the satisfying controls, I like the setting, I like the ship designs, I just want another game which has all of that and isn't rehashing 64.

You can’t lie and tell me being the commander of a team of animal mercenaries fighting in futuristic jet fighters agains a pirate wolf and his team didn’t get you amped why you were younger. Starfox has more raw style than most of the shit Nintendo has put out.

Starfox had very limited gameplay; not even Nintendo know what to do with it, and it shows.
The biggest impact Starfox had was the furry porn, that's about it.

Yet ace combat is still chugging. Miyamoto’s death is going to be the biggest sigh of relief since Hitler.

Funny thing since Namco worked on Assault. but I doubt that pedigree meant anything to Miyamoto since it sure as fuck didn't when he got fucking Platinum games.

It's a space opera and the gameplay worked really well in tandem with the rail shooting. It let the game naturally flow between storytelling and action without taking control away from the player or shoving dialogue down your throat while you're trying to wipe out a horde of enemies. All-range mode was cool in short bursts but the moment it stole your camera away to show what was going on (because you're probably looking the wrong way) the whole experience breaks down.

Miyamoto and whoever else helps direct the game has no idea what made the first game and 64 so good and they keep trying to reinvent the wheel while giving us small glimpses of what could have been.

just give it to project aces
