Hey Yea Forums, going to be without internet for a bit. Looking for RTS suggestions to quickly download/buy before I head off so I have something to do in the meantime. Preferably medieval fantasy and with an older feel. I'm also willing to try turn based/4x. PC only, obviously. I've already played plenty of Warcraft, Age of Empires, and Mythology. Looking for more underrated stuff. Stuff like Dwarf Fortress is cool too.
Dunno if your image is just a random google pic or if you've played it but Seven Kingdoms 2 is pretty decent

I'm partial to Homeworld, but if you like Medieval with an older feel, you'll have to try Stronghold 1 or Crusader out. Also consider Lords of the Realm 2.

Cossacks: European Wars
The campaign is buggy dog shit, though. Just stick to skirmishes.
It's more focused on overall map control than base building. Also, combat has minimal micromanagement, it's more about unit composition and positioning/flanking.
For turn-based/4x: Master of Magic is crazy good and is still the one I have the most fun with.
How do you even get this game on Steam? Can't find any 3rd part who would sell the keys, nor can't get it from Steam because for some retarded reason its not sold in my region.

That one game made by the Hatred devs, can't remember the name but it looked pretty cool.
Battle Realms (cheesy but godlike campaign) Heroes of Annihilated Empires (basically fantasy Cossacs with broken heroes) Atrox (old starcraft clone, I think its shareware now) Grey Goo (a sci-fi rts with a literal nomad race) Warlords Battlecry series

> I'm also willing to try turn based/4x. sword of the stars the first one, not the broken sequel
some of the less popular but (allegedly) okay RTS games: Armies of Exigo Kingdom Under Fire LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 2 with the Witch King expansion
Turn based 4x goodness: Eador Genesis
Andrew Lewis
The Warlords Battlecry series. 3 is probably the best.
Oh yeah, Spellforce. I really liked 2. Didn't care much for 1 but apparently that is the more popular one.

>cheesy but godlike campaign HD remake and spinoff and sequel never ever the head of the BR team had to realize that doing all 3 at once would be a tremendous strain on resources
