I understand the limitations that character creators bring with them in terms of cutscene rendering and forcing things to be in-engine, but it still feels really bad to have to play a pre-built character when that character is objectively shit and I wish more games went the Mass Effect route.
Honestly I want to pick up Three Houses but the way they did the main character in that one feels like a step backwards, especially considering that despite not being customizable they still have no personality whatsoever. It just doesn't sit right with me. I like making a variety of characters for multiple playthoughs and shit, and not having that option is a letdown.

There's a holy trinity of sliders that must be present for me to rate a character creator good, namely the height, the boob, and the muscle/fat sliders. So far out of all mainstream games only Dogma has come close to this ideal. Of course, any character creator is better than none, but I wish devs put some effort in it more often.

Why games like Diablo/Path of Exile don't have a fucking character create is beyond me. Those games are all about loot and gear and amount of shit yet they waste development time having to skin every armour set to all these different character models when they instead should just go the Dark Souls route and have a male/female model that is morphed into different proportions.
Seriously when your character is so small in the game what's the fucking point of making dedicated char models. I bet it also makes animation across all of them nightmare fuel because each one of them would have totally different verts and shit meaning you couldn't easily transfer skinning and animation.
Any game that is an RPG and has you choose between sexes/classes should 100% be CC unless it's a toonshooter like Team Fortress or something
