It's pretty good if you get it somewhere that actually makes it right OR if you make it yourself. Fresh fish is best, and eating raw fish is a worldwide phenomenon, so you know it's at least decent.
Sometimes sushi is still cooked, too. I had some sort of mango-eel roll a while back that was good, but they use cooked eel for that instead of raw.
Keep in mind even the most expensive places tend to use prepackaged ingredients however, so try and get it from a smaller restaurant if you can, preferably by a family.
