I still don't mind the way they sound, they're about on par with the headphones I had before that died a couple months ago, and it's a lot better than my monitor speakers that already sound acceptable.
I don't know shit about speakers or audio material. I just know I plug the thing in, the sound comes out of it and it feels okay to my ears.
You'd hate the 10 years old old ipod touch speakers I use for my PS3 since the monitor for it doesn't have speakers

Look into used office chairs, sometimes you can even find rather expensive brands like Steelcase for under 100 bucks. I also think IKEA has some half-decent office chairs.
Mine's a 1992 Steelcase that I got for free and it's heavy as fuck, but it really is comfy

I had headphones, 40€ Wireless Philips that lasted me for like seven years before the battery finally died off. I absolutely can't afford to spend 200 yuros on headphones right now either, and if I did I'd probably go back to wireless so I can listen to stuff while I'm cooking.
Those speakers actually can produce surprising amounts of bass and treble, I was really expecting to sound even worse than my monitor's speakers and they're decent.
This is my PS3 setup, you can see the ipod speakers just below it.

LCD Monitor speakers are really nothing more than backup noise makers.

And the speakers you have no matter how well you think they sound can't in any way play audio in full range, and the bass you hear is low-mid range Hz that makes you hear the very tip of the lower frequencies.
The graph I made earlier is not far from the truth, and if you are serious in them sounding good then I can't think that you've ever heard good speakers before which is both sad and a potential ear opener once you finally get to experience how sound should sound and FEEL like.

While not much, I did end up buying some 308P that were almost half the price because of a sale on Thomann since they took them out of stock.

I've actually experience good sound, my dad was repeatedly buying huge expensive speakers when I was young, and it's true that it did sound a lot nicer and I could hear more things. That being said, the speakers I have let me listen to the things I want to listen to without my ears bleeding and that's enough for me. I'll use my dollar store speaker, my cheap 2005 monitor and my entry level printer until they break, and then I might consider something better.
I also probably have terrible hearing and I don't "feel" sounds. I've been to concerts for all kinds of music and I've never "felt" it. I've listened to lots of music on my dad's ten trillion bucks speakers and besides me hearing all instruments well I never really felt much of a difference all in all.

Because bigger speakers have the benefit of being able to play lower volume than the smaller ones while keeping more detail in the audio.

And yeah, I've never really been able to tell differences in audio quality. As a kid I went back and forth between my tiny USB key MP3 player (something like pic related) with the cheapest earphones on this planet, and my dad's high quality audio stuff and vinyls, and it didn't bother me one bit.
