Most of his attacks one shot your party and prevent healing. You can cheese it by using level 4's for invincibility while he attacks, but if he gets a good hit in your practically finished, because you have to revive one character only for them to get killed again. Plus if you do too much damage before getting 4 elemental orbs, he'll call reinforcements. I'm glad you found it easy but the fight is generally bullshit.

My sole and biggest disappointment with Xenoblade 2 is that outside of Gramps, none of the Titans are actual characters. And it's recently decided to stop showing me half of the tweets from the artists I follow, which makes finding art even more of a pain in the ass. Agreed, I spent a large part of the game hoping that you'd get to talk to one of the big ones in a sidequest or something, but nope. It's especially shitty that they mention Titans like the Maelstrom one can definitely talk but didn't take advantage of that by making it an NPC.
The Torna DLC was an even better opportunity for doing something like that, since their whole culture is meant to revolve around living with Blades and Titans and you'd have a reason to expect that any Titans hanging around to pull ships would be treated like individuals or something, and making the Tornan Titan itself a character would've been even cooler, but once again it's just Gramps and absolutely nothing else.

Mythra is an immature, not-fully-formed version of Pneuma, who created Pyra (that more closely resembles Pneuma) as a coping mechanism. They started off as "incomplete" aspects Pneuma, but through interaction with the world they both developed into their own individual "complete" people. That's the best I've been able to justify it to myself, but honestly the ending is just supposed to be happy and getting too caught up in the details doesn't help much.

They've obviously got a strong friendship and there's a ton of loyalty there, but despite his dedication to fulfilling Jin's goals, Malos never really seemed to fully understand what Jin actually wanted, and Jin seemed like he was actively holding back from forming truly close bonds with anyone. Ultimately, both of them end up claiming that they're in it to fulfill the other's desire (though Jin isn't quite as insistent about it as Malos, I think he only brings it up like once), but it seems like all they really accomplish is some angsty feedback loop that ultimately just feeds back into that basic destructive impulse towards humanity that Malos gained from Amalthus.
In the end, I think the best example of the 'failure' of their bond is in the way their promise to go to Elysium stands in contrast to Pyra/Mythra and Rex's promise. Pyra/Mythra tell Rex that they only wanted to go to Elysium to beg the Architect to let them die, and that Rex should forget about them and go himself, Rex rejects that completely and instead insists on fulfilling the promise in a way that's positive for all of them. When Jin tells Malos to go on alone, despite their promise, Malos just makes a weak attempt to bring up their promise, then accepts Jin's decision and leaves.
