Because the graphical tradeoff made zero sense. You could get a PS4 or Xbone with next gen graphics or you could get a Wii U with last gen graphics, fisher price marketing, no Zelda, no 3DS IPs and a shitty gimmick tablet. The tablet actually makes sense for the Switch seeing as it works best as a handheld, and making a last gen console portable which also plays every single Nintendo IP actually makes sense as a purchase even if you already own a console. If the Wii U had Animal Crossing and Pokemon it probably would have sold a lot better but not nearly as well as PS4 and Xbone.

I have a PS4 and PC. I played bloodborne, and yeah it's a good game. But it runs like garbage on the PS4 and it takes a lot of time to get used to all the slowdown in the game. Unironically, the PS4 is like the worst platform for bloodborne to be an exclusive on. If you could either turn down the settings or play it on different platforms, it'd be way better

Why would I play something like Arkham Knight on PS4 capped at 30 when it runs at like 60+ on my PC, AND I got it for like $5 on steam?

Performance matters to me as well. I'm disappointed how only a few exclusives run at a smooth 60, like how KH3 runs at 60 on PS4 Pro by forcing 1080p output. I'm fine with that, but it makes me think that I'd want to adjust more options in game so that more exclusives ran at 60 - I wouldn't give a shit if bloodborne was at 720p with some fog effects off but ran at 60. As stated earlier in the thread, PC + current nintendo console gives you the most coverage in games since the PS3 generation. The majority of games that are out are multiplat. It's not that PCfags care only about graphics, it's that you can play the most games on a machine you can also do work on, you can max out their settings, and you get max coverage without having to buy new hardware every 5 years.
