The fights weren't half bad but the problem is that the adaptation pretty much cut out as much as they could and even shortened some fights. It's very very dry and I suggest you read the manga if you're considering watching the show.

They had martial artists come in to be recorded and explain the types of moves and stuff. They were supposed to be motion captured, but of course, that's too expensive for anything outside of Hollywood movies or AAA games. One thing CGI does well is fights which is too expensive and time consuming to animate traditionally.

That's the problem with having a 12-episode season. Originally this was supposed to be on TV. If Netflix was involved at the beginning, you'd have the right amount of episodes and time to adapt everything. Like how some Netflix live series range from 30 minutes to 60 minutes per episode. Kengan S1 should be 14-16 episodes.
