Death to The False...I mean Flame Emperor!

Fun

First, play the fucking game and find out. Second, shit.

This is my first nu-fe so I cannot compare it to the others, but so far its mediocre on the gameplay aspect.

it adds so much stuff that doesnt really add anything substantial to the fire emblem formula.
i dont wanna start memeing but it kinda feels like a fan "what would you do if you could" thread kind of thing where everyone just throws in their fantasies without direction like
>open world
>many villages to visit
>you can visit your camp and see your units maintaining their armors
this game doesnt do anything like this, but the monastery aspect feels like this kind of shallow addition thats just there to make people feel more immersed but doesnt add anything to the gameplay

Mysogynist!

A halfway point between Nu emblem and classic emblem. It has its waifu shit but only about as much as Genealogy had it, the best story the series has had in a decade and a fun hub world and academy gimmick.

>heavily casualized combat and mechanics
This is the most mechanically complex FE to date.

Make sure to not neglect riding stat or you'll regret it.

GoT Weeb edition, GRR Martin would be proud.

Dogshit art direction, and I’m not talking about the character designs. Everything about it looks so fucking dull and off putting at the same time. It looks devoid of any life or warmth, yet lacks the style to pull off a cold art direction.

How does no one have a problem with this?

>It has its waifu shit but only about as much as Genealogy had it
That's nonsense user.

Genealogy didn't have "waifu shit" because you couldn't marry anyone yourself, because there was no you.
And the marriage was only due to determine which characters will take over in the second half, and was just done by placing them next to each other.
Even figuring out how much two characters like each other was only done by a fortuneteller, telling you what stage they're in.

F3H is really not comparable in that regard.

The only other game I played was awakening, I was never a fan of the weapon triangle but now that's actually gone, I can't help but feel with its absence the game feels lacking. There's hardly incentive to even bother with multiple weapons types until endgame. or to unlock that class you want slightly faster. Magic was never the games strong suit but there's hardly any reason to use anything but the highest level magic when you don't have to worry about Tomes breaking. Its weird Gambits with the most useful effects aren't even the high tier ones so grinding authority isn't even worth it.

If by that you mean they added tons of broken shit, then yes.
Its still all casualized and broken as fuck, as plenty of anons have pointed out in depth already.

Your favorite second-tier Nintendo franchise died so they could pump out more waifu strategy games

Attached: 1307036350001.png (442x341, 213K)

Metroid is in the work tho.

I didn’t know Intelligent Systems or Koei made your favourite second-tier Nintendo franchise

The game is as hard as you want it to be.

>grind
>WOOOOW LMAO WTF WHY IS THIS EASY?

I'm at chapter 3, about to fight the guy rebelling and literally havent touched it. Why should I?

Thank you for confirming that you're an idiot.
I didnt even say anything about grind, and grinding maps isn' even a thing on hard.

Stop playing on easy mode faggot.

The character models are the only thing they put any effort into. With low resolution texture they still look bad. This game is absolutely hideous though, I like the game enough that I willing to look past it. If you compare it to something like Arms. Which is game nobody played but that is another Nintendo published game that if were only better console hardware wise it really wouldn't look out of place in terms of fidelity. I'm convinced this started as 3DS game and they never bothered to update the graphics for better hardware.

Almost every master-tier class is riding.

Jokes on you I actually like Fire Emblem(tm)

Unfortunately my wee wee doesn't go past 4 inches when hard

Look at this. Look at this and laugh.
Babby attempts to talk to adults!

>baaah it's not simplistic shit like the GBA games with no skills, assist moves, arts and so on
You can go back and play your outdated shit anytime.

A lot of anons have called it out initially, but blind Nintendo fanboys shitposting in retaliation have pushed that complaint back a bit, so you dont see it as much

there's some interludes that aren't easy, like the one in the canyon throwing a bunch of beasts at your face or the one with manuella getting ganked.
But overall i agree it's not really hard, thank god for that.

>You can go back to play mechanically better FE games anytime
Sure thing, will do.

>the one with manuella getting ganked.
See the thing is that people who already know how to play FE will not have an issue with this. A FE veteran will remember that rescue is a skill that exists.

Long game. I do take my time, but I'm 30 hours in and still not at the timeskip.

Boy I sure love park the sword user in axe user range and press end turn: the games.

You know adding mechanics that are in the end pointless doesn't add complexity right?
Complexity is adding like draft and wind in stages to affect archer hit chances.

Guys I wanna enjoy this game but the academy stuff is stressing me out, I fear I'm messing up all of my characters.

Trails of Cold steel

I've accidentally left it on a few times without putting it sleep mode so my timer is higher than it should be. When I heard the 60 hour estimate I didn't believe them. but if you take your time in the monastery then you hit about then. But if you change the animation settings and battle speed you could easily cut several hours off.

Just stick to their strengths and they will be usable unit. Don't be a min/max faggot on your first time playing.

Fair point.

Only two characters learn rescue. Granted one is flayn but it’s not unlikely to have immediately benched her because she’s worse than the cleric you already have(who also won’t have rescue unless you made Bernie into a cleric for whatever reason). That said fliers and warp exist as well so there’s a lot of options for that. For me one peg knight was enough to keep her completely safe, it didn’t register to me as a hard chapter.

Paper Mario is better off dead at this point though

You have a ton of time. Just look at their current stats/strengths, pick a master class and start building towards that. 90% of the time you’ll hit an advance class on the way there. Most classes don’t have a skill worth grabbing either so don’t worry about mastering classes too.

I forgot miracle is a fucking shit skill outside FEH.
Don't know why I bothered wasting my time grinding my priests to learn it.

>heavily casualized combat and mechanics
This. And for anyone looking for a point list of why you hear this everywhere you go on the internet, here's a broad(but not complete) overview:

>D to C tier maps all around
>lowest difficulty in terms of dmg you deal/take
>assist moves to further boost your dmg
>adjutants are pairing 2.0 and OP
>gambits are free hits without and especially broken towards certain enemy types
>arts that even further boost weapon capabilities
>passive skills that even further boost several stats like dmg/def/mov/hit
>Byleth is Robin 2.0
>weapon downsides are removed and even bows get 1tile returns to counter melee attackers
>units can wield multiple weapons making group tactics obsolete
>units can class into anything making fielding all units a no brainer and free reclassing makes late game maps even easier
>due to units being to class into anything stat growth is generally enhanced instead of focusing on replayability
>no WT so early game punishment for wrong placement is non-existant
>AI is braindead and often uses low dmg gambits on units instead of attacking them even if they could kill it
>magic replenishes itself, and isnt part of your inventory so you can spam everything empty on every map
>red lines that tell you exactly who's gonna be attacked next turn as well as showing unusual enemy behavior upfront
And then there's the whole monastery part, which effectively is what older games did inbetween maps with bonus XP allocation, only here its ten times as time consuming.

>Boy I sure love park the [insert any weapon] user in [insert any weapon] user range and press end turn: the game
Wow F3H is so complex!

>>weapon downsides are removed and even bows get 1tile returns to counter melee attackers
And how is this bad, retard? You faggots kept bitching about MUH ARCHERS ARE BAD BECAUSE THEY CAN'T COUNTER and now that they add close counter NOOOOO FUCK ARCHERS!

kys

Weapon triangle is literally irrelevant in any game that isn't FEH.

>retard
>faggots
>kys
>all caps nonsense
If you want people to listen to you, maybe not talk like a 12yo throwing a fit, because he just got told that his favorite toy might not be so shiny after all.

I don’t even use close counter since canto exists so it’s rediculously easy to keep archers out of range of melee units.

To some degree, and more so for late game, but early on it definitely matters in the games.

But even then, there's an argument to be had whether it was a good idea to scrap it to just have two units smash into each other like action figures without any strategic boundaries whatsoever.
99% of the time, you don't even need to look at what type an enemy is in F3H before attacking them.
It literally doesn't matter one bit.

>complain about non-issues
>get mad when people tell you you're a retard

Let me guess you're also going to bitch about Divine Pulse because WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH IT MAKES THE GAME EASY TO USE THIS OPTIONAL FEATURE

WT is in the game as the breaker skills.

No, you're not a MASTER TACTICIAN because you baited an axe unit with a sword unit. Stop pretending it was ever complex or a "deep" mechanic. If anything it literally made shit simpler and more braindead to have advantages like this.

Again, WT only matters in FEH.

Is Edelgard the patrician choice? Normies would go for claude or dimitri I feel like

Should I make Dorothea my dancer because she's good at it, or should I make Ferdinand my dancer because he's good at nothing? I dunno how feasible it will be to just bench Ferdinand later but by chapter five my Dorothea is getting good growths so maybe I should make her a caster and Ferdinand a dancer because of that?

I never did.
I might have said that if I have to choose between a mage and an archer that I might take the mage due to being able to close counter, but I never called archers bad.
Especially not since they often were 1KO machines if placed correctly.
And all you needed to do to protect them was keep them in the second row.

Also, even if, it's not making things better for the game when pretty much all additions only make it easier already.

>non-issues
Keep living in your own world kid.

Bad anime and even worse graphics.
A game that is neither combat nor story driven, yet has no other deep mechanics.
A game that is somehow worse looking and worse playing than Trails of Cold Steel, yet will sell much better and already has much more critical acclaim.
A game that is SOMEHOW even more badly written than Persona 5, a feat many deemed impossible.
That game is Nier: Automata, but Three Houses also fits perfectly.

Anyone is a good choice user.
Dorothea is peak performance Dancer (best is still Dimitri)

Might as well make him a dancer so you don’t gimp her growths

Yea thats pretty much the gist of it.
Even though other I've seen other anons mention some more in-depth issues as well.

>WT is in the game as the breaker skills.
To some degree yes, but unfortunately enemies don't profit from it.
But no, it didnt make shit simpler. Having to choose what units to send on what route is not simpler than to pick the right units for each route.

Edelgard = Daenerys 2.0
Bluefaggot = Jon
Yellow = Sandsnakes, annoying but do nothing

It also ends just like the last season in two of the routes.

Just wait for the hugbox DLC route where no one dies.

How embarassing.
Every proper forum would grant an instaban for being this childish.

Pretty much.

Dimitri = normal moralfag route that is most standard FE
Claude = bystander route that mostly focuses on the background but doesn't do shit

Edelgard route splits in retarded lawfag route and the real Edelgard route.

I enjoy this game but admittedly feel dirty for it, because I really and fundamentally agree with all the criticism of it.

I never thought that I'm such a pea brain but clearing the maps like its fucking checkers is just stimulating to me.

Is explore pretty much always better than seminar or battle?

One week explore and two weeks battle are my go to right now.
Is seminar worth it? it doesn't seem to.

Seminar is the only the that is useless and never worth doing. if you already explored and don't have a new battle then rest or you could just explore again to refill motivation with gifts.

She’s literally the braindead normalfag option on top of being the ironic weekend choice

You only need to explore once unless you wanna get supports up asap, like when you wanna recruit people from other houses.
Other than that, there's nothing new after the first exploration.

Seminar is kinda worth it if you get a good boost going, but it depends on the people participating. Kinda RNG

>braindead normalfag option
>when there's a literal hero option in the game
I dont think you know what braindead normalfag actually means. Look in the mirror to find out lmao #rekt

My Caspar and Hubert are getting RNG screwed but I'm only four chapters in. Should I bench them ASAP or do they have good potential overall?

My Caspar fists everything and even unga’s through beasts barriers, but a screwed unit is a screwed unit. Try replacing them with lysithea and raph if you want similar units.

Master tier classes are not better than advanced classes. You pretty much just trade stat growth for mobility.

I actually really like Caspar and his supports with Bern, so I might keep him on if he has overall potential. But if he keeps getting screwed I'll drop him because his first eight levels have been terrible.

Caspar is a brawler machine for me.
Maybe work on his on weapon stats and wait until his skills give him enough bonus.
Or just let him pick off damaged enemies for extra gain

Just turn Caspar into a dancer if he gets shit stats.

Why are people whining about difficulty when we haven't even got lunatic mode yet?

>blue lion chads are getting the best and canon story and gameplay
>black eagle players are getting to play as the villains
What even is the point of playing Church or Golden Queers?

Jesus Christ what the fuck was that Marianne paralogue

feels bad man

Attached: file.png (1920x1278, 3.52M)

I feel you, my Lorenz got fucked hard but I refuse to drop him. You get a ton of stat boosters so you may as well use them to touch up characters you care about. Not like bylethe or the lord needs them.

Fog of war and a shit ton of beasts, fun. It’s pretty easy once you realize Marianne is completely safe until you get close enough to the beast.
