me too :)

hey i was just playing this how did you know
also did you find my lost socks

Can't wait for the threads to kick back up at the gameplay reveal for the remake in gamescom

Spongebob is the one thing that bridges boomers and zoomers together. This game is pretty good for being post Banjo Kazooie.

hopefully they'll announce a release date

I remember one time i was doing something in the kitchen and remember hearing Pantera on the tv. Thought to myself i was imagining things. Turns out it was my little brother watching spongebob. Good times.

its a bit rough around the edges but it's worthy of praise

It will never not be weird that Pantera is on a fucking Spongebob Album. I wish they'd get more musical guests but I shouldn't cause I'll probably get Monkey Paw'd and they'll have fucking Ariana Grande or some shit on there.

Me too user, although I do have slightly incestuous memories tied to this game.

for a small development time I'd say most of the character models hold up decently

Reminder that this is a sequel to Battle for Bikini Bottom. It plays exactly the same way just with new graphics, maps, and skills, but all the old skills are still available on top of them, so play it if you haven't. I think the only thing it doesn't have is you can only play as Spongebob and Patrick, no Sandy.

Ween made the Loop De Loop song and that's all that matters.

It really is a direct upgrade form BfBB. Not sure why it doesn't get as much love. Only specific answer I remember ever hearing was that some found it too hard.

One of the best SpongeBob games is also one of the most underrated

I think the movie had Motorhead in it.
And your shoes are lookin cool

BfBB's map was literally just Spongebob's world, so places like Jellyfish Fields, Rock Bottom, Mermalair, Sand Mountain, Goo Lagoon, Kelp Forest, basically mostly areas that only appeared in 1 or 2 episodes made it feel extra soulful and adventurous within a familiar world, even referencing the travel between dreams episode. I remember thinking being able to enter Sandy's Dome and the Krusty Krab was the coolest shit as a kid since they didn't have much artistic freedom to change them for gameplay purposes, they were essentially taken straight from the show.
The movie is straight up new areas that are exclusive to the actual movie, so the whole game is a foreign map but with Spongebob characters since 90% of the movie takes place outside of Bikini Bottom or in a destroyed Plankton version of it.

If i think about it, you might be right. But the movie game is not completely barren of iconic spots, you have the goofy goober, the monster rift, plankton city, bikini bottom, the "real" shell city, this one bar where they fight... They just had nearly too much freedom in how to design these places, because the movie didnt spend much on each segment. Cant blame it on them, but BfBB just does the soul better.

I loved it too. There's so much creativity in the game's environments. It did Rock Bottom better than both the show and any other games.

Did anyone ever play this point and click crock of shit? "SpongeBob SquarePants: Employee of the Month"

Shit brought me to tears as a kid - probably the underlying reason I still don't play point and clicks.
