x4 Krillin's base power would've been killer in early Z. It would move him from a far 3rd behind Goku and Piccolo to either equal or right near it.

If you watched DB movies for their plot, you are an idiot. All they were truly good for was eye candy and neat concepts. The only ones that really work in terms of plot are the ones that tie into the ongoing story. You can't take a bunch of characters designed for serialization and slap them in a closed off plotline that needs to be setup, get going, and resolve all in 45 minutes to an hour and expect it to work out all that well.

I'm explaining why they all feel the same though. I haven't said anything about how that affects the quality. I don't watch for the plot but I feel the movies would stand out individually if they didn't all run together like this. Just a simple little plot that can have an interesting conclusion would've been nice. Especially since we now know that they are fully capable of doing it.

The characters being made for a series doesn't really change anything. They can be adapted into a movie if there was any actual effort put into them before the last few. Bio-Broly, Janemba, BoG, nuBroly, Hirudegarn, they all end in a satisfying way because they bothered to adapt instead of condense. They didn't just sum up an arc in an hour and swap out the villain. They created a new story meant for the big screen. That's all it takes.

Well super is a part of this series user and as much as you hate it it'll always be better than GT for two reasons:
As bad as the animation was in the earlier arcs at least it was still animated, the same can't be said for most fights in GT where they usually just used a still image and screen shakes. Hell, omega's fights don't even stack up to some of the early Beerus ones.
And the story itself tried something new even having a tournament arc in a format that's never been used in DB. GT on the other hand basically just copied existing stories and arcs making them more predictable than anything else. In some cases it was even a one to one copy like the zoonama(?) episode.

DBRecut is an autist doing god's work going through vanilla DB and cutting out the filler, contrary to memes, og DB had proportionally only slightly less filler than Z, and a lot of canon stuff was padded with shit filler you can't cut

anyways, DBRecut is probably the best way to watch old DB now, it's based on the Dragon Box dvds, the editing is good, he combines episodes as needed to pad them to suitable length, so sometimes you get longer eps, and it has dual audio, though priority was on the Jap one, unlike the Naruto Kai autist that ate his own farts about deleting the English track "cus I don't care" like the most unlikable subfag

in general the guy did a lot of small quality of life edits too, he's pretty thoughtful about it, he's currently going through DB Kai, as that still had a lot of filler left, he's now done with it up to Cell

Rewatch the Frieza and Beerus fights and tell me that again. It has the same exact issues of animation as some of GT but what GT has over it is the consistent art quality. At least during screen shakes and still images, the characters will be on model and not deformed. At least they didn't use cheap MS Paint squashing and stretching and call it animation.

Budokai 3 would be the second best DBZ game if it weren't for Dragon Rush. It's the worst fucking mechanic I've ever fucking seen and the computer fucking spams it. A lot of the filler in DB wasn't just good, but improved the over all experience (Improved stuff like the Super God Water, made Pilaf's involvement with the earlier arcs more fun, and generally added a lot of good characterisation to those who needed it).

While I can understand the name change, since the translation is a bit long and it's been 90s Murrica after all, so demonic=bad and all, but Special Beam Cannon always sounded super bland to me. They could clean up the quests displaying their text string by just removing them after a minute or unless you're in the area. or shrink it by maybe 15% so it's as long as the dragonball counter, so it's not jutting into the field of the game.

Other than that, it seems alright. The waypoint beam seems fairly well meshed with the other assets, and that stuff is just personal nitpicking.

Them getting booted offscreen is the intended effect that a spectator of such a wide scale event would experience. It's literally too busy to keep an eye on everything until suddenly half of the people participating have been benched in the time it took you to watch Goku go SSJ and punch someone in the face. It's madness. It's chaotic. It's sloppy. It's fare better pacing than the anime.

For whatever reason, he design the attack to specifically drain as much of his Ki as possible. Ki=Life, with his original Kikoho it's instant death after one shot. It's just his final move because back then everyone in DB was obsessed with having an ultimate move that kills this them if they use it.

The Shin Kikoho still drains a lot of Ki, but doesn't do it as rapidly, so he can fire off more shots and it can double as a diversion. It's pretty much him accepting that he isn't relevant anymore.

He doesn't use the Kamehameha because again, he isn't relevant. There is no point in using in anything because his entire purpose will always be as a distraction.

We had a pretty good dub (like most German dubs) and the VA for Goku even sang a few of the OPs. Overall we had the original Japanese music (which is why I never understood why all these english Youtube DBZ videos had this shitty electro music) and for the most part more accurate translations. A lot of terms remained untranslated too, like Saiyajin and oozaru instead of shit like great apes.
Overall I'm glad I got to watch it in German instead of whatever the fuck they did with the US version.

Toyo started good with the free-for-all concept but fell into a trap. Jiren blitzing everyone and Kale actually doing some damage with her rampage is great. It actually diverges from the normal tournament formula. The problem is that it goes right back into that formula. After all the nobodies are gone, it's back to 1v1 shit made worse by disgusting writing and powerscaling. Roshi being able to dodge Jiren is shit;Kefla and Chodehan being equal is shit; the handling of UI in general was shit.

None of it would've happened though if it stuck to the free-for-all formula. The underlying problem is that it is a "tournament" at the end of the day.

A defeat is when a character beats another character until they are either : dead,crippled, resigned from battle, or otherwise unable to perform further in the battle. Anything that happens after one of these conditions is met is irrelavent. That is the rules for Dragon Ball as whole. This series isn't as black and white as others. Fights get interrupted, characters get revived mid-battle,etc. All types of wacky shit happens but we are still able to determine wins and losses.

Vegeta broke Goku's legs and left him defenseless until his friends showed up and bailed him out. That is a win against Goku.

Majin Vegeta slapped the shit out of SS2 Goku and then tricked him into letting his guard down. He then knocked him out. That is another win against Goku.

Getting back to Launch, at this point I expect that if she returns, she will be offered up to whatever Saiyan needs a woman. Well the original Ocean group did the Saiyan saga and some of Namek. Funimation did a lot of work editing and censoring it. Then they had to take over and dub the remaining episodes already did and everything after themselves.

It was terrible so they had to redo it and the episodes they skipped in in the mid-2000s. That was their first uncensored dubbing of it.

Then from 2010 or so to probably 2016 they had to do Kai. During all of this they dubbed like 20 video games that basically just recap the DBZ story verbatim. Some of their best performances are in the games actually. They also did some recaps of certain arcs and stuff.

Based on that, I'm imagining something similar happening with Super down the road.

The DB world and the post-Namek world are not the same. There are very few furries and monsters running around on Earth anymore. Anything that's not fully human is a freak, martial arts are just smoke and mirrors and not a fascinating display of skill. They aren't. They never were. The last canon estimation of a PL was 'over 1M' for Frieza's second most restrained form. The last canon 'exact case was Frieza's most restrained self if I remember right. Making up a bunch of PLs, then having a multiplier made-up to suit them doesn't really make it canon. Also, the 50% Frieza block of KKx20 Kamehameha doesn't hold up under even that system (but then, it isn't like AT hadn't dropped multipliers on ki techniques since he briefly introduced the idea with the Raditz fight like SBC being 3.26x and Kamehameha as 2.22x).
