Idle games in general have this negative stigma that they are too lazy to grind anything out but want to show off big numbers. A REAL red flag for anyone is the amount of time they put into it plus the achievement showcase for it if applicable.

No idea about idlemaster, but SAM is Steam Achiev Manager. I used it back when I actually cared about TF2 hats and wanted the freebies even if they were ugly like that alien hat.

SAM is a program people use to unlock achievements without playing the game. You can also use it to re-lock achievements which is pretty nice.
