DG2 is more or less the same, but they changed a few things. For example the demons you enslave are now your party members instead of creating your own ones. Also they are both bugged in different ways. In the Vita one enemies don't drop money which makes the early game harder, while in the PS4 one they drop too much money.

It only really matters in the first dungeon or so since you need to buy the gems to clear the circles like in the first game, but other than that money has almost no value in that game since everything is about item drops which are RNG based.

I have beaten both and only bothered to get the plat for the first game
2nd one's story isn't as good, the fanservice also isn't as good, dungeons are a bit more livelier and more stuff happens in them.
difficulty is easier than the fist game. there are more demons but most of them are useless, while in the first game you had pretty specific roles for each one.
bosses aren't as challenging, specially in regards to all the attention you had to pay over status effects. DG1 resembled the SMT games in this aspect. DG2 is more casual.
postgame is straight up overpowered trash that requires a buttload of grinding AND farming for very powerful equipment, while in the first game you could deal with all the extras at a natural pace as you kept advancing and relying on good tactics.
