Ok, hear me out. Since we hit gold with our last game, we make the sequel but strip it of everything people loved about he previous entry, cut down the roster, and focus on tournaments. Net ode can be neglected and we’ll just cater to a casual crowd that will drop the game after a couple months anyways. We then release characters slowly every couple months without any communication in between. Then, around the 4th season, we release one character and fuck off for months only to have out no summer reveal leaked to the masses and it just be par the course of what we’ve been doing anyways. Then we’ll throw a pity party only to do it again come December.

The idea is that it's gonna take you a lot of tries before you get out. Also roguelike so items are randomised and enemies, all buildings are enterable.

I think first person would be better. Core ideas, making player feel powerless, tense, not wanting to engage in combat, and more of a runner game. The city would be the primary character in the game, I don't know what reward one would get for escaping, and how you would change subsequent runs enough. Another key component would be escaping needn't end in a shootout as so often happens in every game.
