Patamon + Angemon line. Although saying that is sometimes hard, because there are some like Gotsumon which don't seem to have any sort of "official" final step, so what do I do? Say no thanks to the missing evolution levels? Just pick a random Mega since it's all bullshit?

On the minus side, Angewoman isn't in the earlier games. On the plus side, the earlier games are pretty bad so most of the games you'll see recommended will have her in them. Pretty much everybody from the first season is guaranteed to appear, due to their popularity.

Digimon World 1 is probably the only game you'll see recommended that doesn't have Angewoman, and it's mostly recommended because it's rather unique.

It is pretty cool. I wish it had an option to use one partner for post game. I own it on PS4 and found a translated patch for my vita. I will say the PS4 game is much prettier than the vita version but the vita version is at least portable. Plus the PS4 version you could probably get for like $20 and borrow a friends PS4 for a few days to finish it? I’d say it is with the slight bit of hassle to get yourself set up to play it if you enjoyed DW1 a lot.

I was thinking about it, and I figured since they're mentally regressing back to their playtime as little children, I'd give the boy Wizardmon -> Piedmon (A king's loyal advisor that warps into his puppeteer) and the girl Knightmon -> Crusadermon (A princess's knight in shining armor that becomes a violent warmonger.) It works even better than I'd intended because their theme segues into being good minions for the villain.

Most of it was probably coincidental timing but I'm going to bet that scheduling the Cyber Sleuth release a month before Pokemon was definitely intentional

It's just a coincidence, people are giving way too much credit to the "pokemon vs digimon" rivalry and overestimate the ammount of people who jumped ship from one franchise to another.
