The parts of both games that aged the worst for me are the customization options, and the fact that a well-enough person could buy a mid-level sports car that would hustle an SLR McLaren or Murcielago in certain scenarios

Played UG, UG2 and MW recently, and despite UG2 being my favorite as a kid, I now see it as the worst.

UG1 has the best city and racing, and MW has the cops. UG2 has the best customization, but while I really liked that as a kid, I don't really care about it now.

If MW had drift races and that small bump on the car making it flip it would be over UG2. But without them it is clear.

I've played every nfs since III, the soundtrack has a few good songs but everything else is forgettable. UG2 and MW are more memorable.

Why was Carbon so underwhelming? They could've done a lot with that whole crew mechanic, but they went and tacked it on to a reskin of MW while retconning the fact that you were the guy from UG 1&2. Even the cops' dialogue is the same from MW, cops didn't have a real role in this game.

It wasn't, some people just think it's shit cause it's not most wanted or underground 2. It runs on the same engine as mw,ug1 and 2 so it reuses a lot of the same assets but it's still a whole new map. It also had a lot more to offer when it came to car selection, races and customization.

Looking back the graphics were weird looking, especially compared to UG2 on PC. I'm pretty sure the drift mechanics were fucked too.
Canyon races were amazing however.

It's cause carbon had a shitty blue filter but you can turn it off on PC.
