never heard of it, describe it for me.
it's a first-person dungeon crawler roleplaying game and super duper fun
Play with this

No 3DS, certainly ain't getting one for EO.

OH NO NO NO NOOOO
Is it only on the switch/3ds though I don't have those. reeeeee

What, really?
desmume & citra exist, you have no excuse
it's on DS/3DS
thats even worse fml. Who owns ds these days.
The DS is still a great console IMO.
dunno never had one, supposedly it has somewhat better ergonomics than 3DS. Not that it matters, a 3DS plays games from both systems and is frankly the best vidya purchase ever for me. I'm nearing 600 hours in this series alone.
I like dungeon crawlers but could never get into EO desu
wtf does EO have to do with porn addicts?
just emulate if you have a pc

Both games are meant to be played in story mode. Classic mode is meant for a replay with fun times had
yeah they're 2 portraits from the game what about it? seems appropriate for a thread about the games
they are all busted and make the game a breeze, even on Expert (fun to use admittedly)
Highlander and Gunner in U1 are ridiculously good
they are equal to the other classes in 2, where in turn Fafnir is the broken one.
for the first run I recommend Classic mode to get the good old dungeoneering experience
I much prefer the mystery dungeon kind of dungeon crawler but those are few and far between these days

EO3 Raging Waves
Tried picking 5 back up after having dropped it in the 4th stratum. Still found it boring.
how difficult would it be to transfer my emulator saves of EO3 to my 3ds?
I see, personally it bothers me when dungeons are both randomly generated and you can't revisit them / explore upwards. I like it when floors have many stairs and branch out into long paths, intertwining on a different floor.
Woops the perspective on this makes her look like she's not wearing a top
I've done it the opposite way before, from 3DS flashcard to desmume and it was easy, I imagine that converting DSV files to SAV instead isn't that hard.
>I like it when floors have many stairs and branch out into long paths, intertwining on a different floor.
What, like in 2, especially in the second stratum, where you have to go up and down floors to make progress on one floor? I loved that about 2.

oh, you bet. I think it's a travesty what 2U has done to 2's original 9F. Heavenly Keep was better designed in the remake, but I still like how the original made you think about traversing the floors
>if I spend too many hours on this floor, those hydras will stop moving and I can't get up to 23F because they block the way. How do I get around this
I also miss the FOE luring abilities
Yeah, yeah, ebin meme, you can move on to the next thread now
Ok champ enjoy your brain rot
I want to know what EMD2 improved over EMD1, because it had a lot of fucking problems.
>5% drop rate from a boss at the end of a ~60 floor dungeon that starts you naked and at level 1
hella fuckin' epic, bro.
>Untyped damage does 1s against DOEs, even if their protection has been stripped off
>In the event that a character is situated right next to a DOE, the AI will get into a slugfest and refuse to move away even if they're a squishy mage class
>Monsters spawning as I leave the room, causing the last in line to remain inside of the room and remain fighting even if I'm trying to leave
>Food that was intended to INCREASE the drop rates of items might actually DECREASE drop rate?
>Turning animations off still plays the ailment affliction animation (Sometimes the game bugs and just plays all of the animations at once though, that's rad)
>Using battle music for dungeons
>You don't get credit for a kill if an enemy dies by poison.
>Itemization is really bland; every light armor gives Str, some classes just can't wear shoes at all, etc
I'm sure there are a lot of other things that rub me the wrong way. God, if it had Formaldehyde, then I'd be completely fine with all of the other issues, because trying to 100% this shit is the worst.
Glad I never played 2U then. Still, it is more EO, and with redesigned floors things would be new and different. Though I could probably just replay 2 and it'd be just as fresh as 2U, since it's been 10 (!) years since I last played it.
oh by no means you should skip 2U, it's a strong contender for the best in the series. The dungeon design has a few stinkers, but the rest of the package is fine as hell. Pic related got me thrilled like a fucking post game boss.
Also, bears wearing guns.
don't forget "lmao time to yeet my shield in lava"
This is why I played through as a solo character, can't have problems with the AI if there's no AI with you.
Played the shit out of 4, burned out on Nexus in front of the Princess. I'm going to wait for whatever the Switch gets.
Fuck V. It is the BN4 of my 3DS collection. That 6th Stratum music is fucking shit.
How is 2U Scylla different?
Will we ever get a spiritual successor on the Switch?
The franchise wouldn't be the same with a single screen and we've had enough games.
I think this calls for a new take on the dungeon crawling spirit.
switch version when?
Would buy in the release day whatever it costs.
Open world with robust map making mechanics
I never really had an issue with hypnosis-tossing, but gearing in EMD is far, far harder than gearing in other Mystery Dungeon games, when you take into account end game shit requiring MULTIPLE sub 10% drops, and losing it requires a shitton of work to get back. Had my 3ds die during the night mid-expedition, and lost a +99 gilded Yggdrasil Rod, which isn't as bad as potentially losing some dragon gear, but holy fuck I was pissed.
My fucking 3ds charger doesn't work unless I hold the cord as some arcane angle; think I might need a new one.
2021. I don't know why Atlus announces things so far in advance. It seems like it took 2 years from 5's announcement to get any information. And then there's that Re:Fantasy game, SMTV, and Next Stage too.
by weeding out the casuals like no other.
Original Scylla? Honestly she's among the other pushover bosses, dying to like 3 Midarebas. Hell my first time around I feared her and she wasn't able to do any damage or anything really.
2U Scylla on Expert is a goddamn nightmare, I was seriously scared of even approaching her door. She's much, much more durable and summons tentacles that ruin your party, so you need to have a good plan to survive her bullshit for about 15-25 turns. The only thing that keeps her from being broken is that her pattern is pretty strict so you can counter some of her attacks with Anti-Ice etc.
a game with a world / dungeons like Might and Magic 6 + EO's audiovisuals and combat would be my dream game.
Picked up EO1U and EO5 before and couldn't get into them, trying EO1U again and I'm really enjoying it now. I feel like I've made a kind of shitty party though, and I feel I'm not investing in the right stats, but working that out is part of the fun I guess
I did.
>2021.

How would you make a single screen map making system that's not tedious as fuck?
Distract them with lolis
Just a guess. Most likely won't be any earlier than that.
Maybe if you put on a shirt first, you beatnik.
Confession time:
I own all Etriams and poured dozens of hours into them but never finished a single one of them.
I love them all though, the playstyle, the character classes, the art, the music (I fucking LOVE the music m8). When I was in dire need for cash I sold every DS/3DS game I had, except the EO games. Currently I'm actually playing one, EOU1 . Trying out that story mode, it's actually fun so far, the extra dungeon is nice although I just got my ass whopped by a ginormous queen bee. Hexer
Troubadour
Please don't remind me. Fafnir's story will never find closure and is left in a cliffhanger after 2U.
That will just complicate further the map making process.
Seriously though, I think the map making element needs to be largely streamlined/automated.
Map should still be thematically important and you should be able (and need) to anote the map freely, but the focus should be put elsewhere.
>>Etrian mystery dungeon 2 will never come out in NA
Making the map myself is my favorite part. Any games where you just wander around making maps?
I tried a demo for it on 3DS. I didn't really like the turn based combat but I liked drawing the maps. I don't think I'd enjoy the full game though.
Was Nexus any good? I've been trying to find impressions on it but it doesn't seem like many played it?
God EO Nexus's OST is so unexciting.
I thought V's was generic but this takes the cake.
I could fall asleep to their battle and boss themes.
I like it, but I have low standards
I recently hacked my 3DS. Are there any coold mods or hacks I can do with the Etriam games now? Like change sprites, music, etc?
It's certainly not for everyone, especially if you're not into turn based combat

Medic

Survivalist
I tried to go with a stereotypical JRPG party, I didn't really look at the more unique classes, which I probably should've tried
ITT not just cumbrains, pedophile cumbrains. Fucking yikes.
It's decent, but not the best EO. You'll still have some fun if you like messing around with the multiple classes.
Just have a button bring up the map making screen. when you're making a map on the ds games you're just looking at the bottom screen, basically you just need one screen at a time really
the first 5 labyrinths are really cool at least, I haven't played further so I can't commend
I'd be fine just adding notes and having dark areas. I don't mind the wall scribbling and I think it makes you pay more attention to your environments when you do that, but I don't need it to enjoy EO.
Is the Nexus OST original remixes, or just borrowing from Untold? Never played them so I don't know. But the Waterfall Woods and Undersea Grotto tracks are amazing.
just link the porn
its wizardry for retards
It's kind of a shame that the vast majority of these goofy lewd games that come out are variants on JRPGs, or dungeon crawlers, or other sorts of this kind of game. The only ones that come to mind that aren't are Senran Kagura and Oneechanbara.

AHHHHHHHH

seems pretty solid to me. Has potential for chasers and all.
If you want a protip for early game, replace Medic with Troubadour and get Echoing Rondo a ridiculously efficient party heal buff. Whenever you heal, either by skills or by draining health from enemies with passive bonus, the party gets healed. On top of that you have other very useful buffs like Peace Ballad.
The downside is that you don't have revive/refresh/unbind unless you get the grimoires.
Hope it's not Switch exclusive. I don't want to play another fun EO on yet another shit system.
Too many forests
You can make the map as you're walking and fighting, it doesn't require you to fully stop and focus on that Plus you can look around to better gauge the area as you're drawing it.
That would be slowed down considerably without the second screen.
It's got a bunch of original tracks, check youtube.
They're kinda samey and tame
Don't forget Gal Gun and Akiba Strip
It was okay, the main problem is that most of it was recycled content. Having a huge number of classes is nice for party building though.
I wouldn't be against it being multiplat, if it gets it funded.
Wrong thread but ok
got to lab 5 in EOX but couldn't find a party composition i was happy with. think i ended up with WM/Highlander/Harbinger frontline and Zodiac/Ninja backline. had some fan patch that made zodiac not entirely worthless but even then it feels pretty tame compared to gunner. i just know i wanted to build it around my WM and not use sovereign or hero
I thought it was way too long for how uninteresting it got towards the end
Also it doesn’t help that the events that change your expectations are only in the first three stratums (only a quarter of the game), I expected there to be more
>fan patch
stop
I don't know if I'd bother dusting off my 3DS if they released Untol 3, but on the other end I'd feel bad if the franchise ended on the tepid Nexus game.
make me. it just buffs the literally useless skills and buffs the underpowered FOEs and bosses. not my fault they didn't give a shit about class balance this time around.
I liked EOV better. Despite obviously being unfinished and the low boss count it had way more high quality, unique boss fights. Crystal Dragon and Star Devourer are my favorite fights in the series.

i think EOV is probably the most solid one all around. best overall class balance and QoL features imo.
I just wish they gave a shit about world building, characters and all that. The journey to stratum 5 and its ancient evil boss was a whole bunch of nothing.
And not having a climactic battle against humanoid bosses is a crime.

I don't want and Untold version either. The game is perfect as is and in my opinion, set protagonists do not belong in Etrian at all.

>I also think playing a "balance" patch on a first EO run is terrible

normally i'd be on your page but EOX has a ton of either completely broken classes, or completely worthless ones. since this is just some anniversary game with a bunch of rehashed stuff i don't really feel bad about it. wouldn't do it in the other games but i already beat all those.
i don't actually agree with any of the nerfs they made but i wasn't using any of those classes anyways. some classes like WM are just trash in EOX and while i don't need to use only the strongest classes it's not fun to use classes that feel half baked
I have a massive soft spot for characters with evil powersets using their abilities for good (Genocide of forest folk wasn't evil, they were asking for it), so the Hexer class ended up resonating with me. Cute as heck, cool design, powerful.
Kind of butthurt they weren't in EON as a playable class, but after seeing what they did to Pugilist and Arcanist I'm kind of relieved they didn't get ruined

That's something that seriously bothered me about EOV, it's almost unexistent plot, especially coming after III with its branched paths and IV with an actually good story and true stakes at risk. Eternal Tyrant might as well had been just another boss, he was just there for absolutely no reason other than a shoehorned "he has been locked for eons ready to kill humanity".

I've been trying to get my hands on U2, since I know many consider it to be the best alongside 3, but it's getting pricey. I need to track a copy down soon. I saw Nexus brand new on Amazon for $25 but people are saying it's not that great.
Is there any bigger cringe than when someone has a full girl party or 1 guy/4 girl party?
I thought it was a very schizophrenic composition with obnoxious instruments. Best was Inspecting the resounding weapons.
If they made a etrian style game with the aesthetics of Deagons Crown, that would be the best game of all time. Etrian games are so amazing, but sometimes I get tired of fighting bland pokemon style monsters all the time. Sometimes I want to fight skeletons or ghosts or goblins. That's why a DARK SPIRE remake that is less obtuse is my dream game.
I beat EOV with only Brounis, it was pretty terrible but it’s great to know that you can just use whatever and have fun with it. I think that’s the best strength of the game and why it’s my personal most replayable game in the series
Thinking of doing an all Rover run next
> 1 guy/4 girl party?
acceptable in 1 where the only good boy is Teach-male.
I just had constantly respawning wraiths take the hits so I could focus on damage. Not that my team was strong.

I'm not including 1U because I think it'd be unfair to rate it with only Story mode done but I had burned myself a bit so I didn't bother with Classic. I know I'm putting V at the bottom but even if I fucking loved the classes Necro best girl it has SO MANY flaws that it took me over a year to finally continue playing it after dropping it halfway through Fetid Necropolis because I just couldn't find any enjoyment to that point. At least II even with its many problems it was a fun as hell ride, but V I was forcing myself to even beat it and when I got to the Zombie Dragon's lair I just couldn't bother anymore.
>he doesn't have Scruffy taking care of his girl squad
What are you, gay?
3 and 4 are fully cleared for me. I've gotten through the first stratum in 2 and U2 and intend to go back and finish them. In 5, I'm on the last stratum and I intend on finishing it as well. I don't plan on going back to play the first game though. I've also got Nexus sitting here waiting to be played. 3 and 4 are easily my favorite. 5 is disappointing in a lot of ways but still okay. I'm looking forward to Nexus much more than I was for 5.
What's the Yea Forums approved non-cringe party composition for this map drawing simulator?
Whatever you like. Don't listen to that retard. For me it's all loli/flat girls.
Obviously all males because half of Yea Forums is insecure about admiting they want a full girl team while adding units like trapshark and trapMedic
I was thinking of going dodge fencer/pug/harb/Shaman/Rover for my first time through V
Is this a good team?
Should I switch Harb for Masu or something else?
I hope if another game happens, that they go back to the more cynical and mature plots of the DS era. Things like the pact between the winged folk and Overlord, delivering him living beings for experiments
Not being able to see my characters while exploring/battling is a deal breaker
I absolutely hated what they did to forging in 5. No longer do you get a choice in what you put on your weapon. You just upgrade it to 5 and that's it. I also hated the lack of sea exploration/airship exploration. I loved these two aspects in 3 and 4. This was supposed to be the 5th mainline entry and it felt lazy as fuck in my opinion. The ocean and airship were good changes of paces in the previous games and made it feel much more like an adventure. I also loved the sea quests from 3. It made finding new places on the map more exciting because it meant a new boss to fight plus new unique gear.

It's interesting, for the most part they've managed to keep the supernatural absent from the games, (with few exceptions, mind you), but then EOV goes balls to the wall necromancy with mummies, ghosts, skeletons, zombies, vampires and a lich. Up until that point, a lot of the fantasy elements could be properly explained, like the monsters you're fighting are just mutated wildlife, animated armor is just automatons, and spells were from technologically advanced pieces of equipment, like the Alchemist's gauntlet, or Zodiac's mechanical wing.
EO1 anomalies: Hexers curses, and maybe Protector heals. Does the protector just have medicine on 'em like the medic? Hexers just use bells that make creatures cough up blood and die on the spot, without any technology.
EO2 anomalies: Ghost in the Drake questline. Kotodama being in the hexer-exclusive secret passage events.
EO3 anomalies: Ghost in the Abyssal Shrine. Aliens, maybe? I can't really explain why I consider them less supernatural, and more "realistic" than ghosts, but I do.
EO4 is where things start to get weird: Runemaster has a weird technological wand, so that MIGHT be the source of their seemingly magical runes? But then you have arcanists which are just geomancers, and a lot of bizarre events in the Hall of Darkness that are difficult to account for.
EO5: Necromancer class, and the entirety of Fetid Necropolis
EOU1 didn't really add anything new supernatural-wise
EOU2 has a ghost as part of the story
EOX has some recycled floating skull assets. I consider the Abyssal Princess more super science and genetic engineering than a proper undead.
I think that's about everything?

Almost everything that happens in the Hall of Darkness was caused by experiments gone horribly wrong, with the only two supernatural instances being the table with food and the doll family.

Nexus is feeling like it'll be somewhere between 2U and 4 so far, that could obviously change though. 5 is honestly only as high up as it is due to the modern gameplay enhancements, if you take those out of consideration then I think it's a strong contender for worst mainline EO.
Yeah, I was thinking the doll family, and maybe the hammer, but I guess those could be explained by the hollows. Food table is probably also hollows setting out food for their former masters, out of habit.
It still fucking bothers me seeing what they did to Visil in 1U. Game definitely would have been better off if it didn't change plot elements from the original game.
who killed the dolls in Hall of Darkness??
reminder that paint belongs under doors
Reminder that you belong in a shallow grave.
This was so fucking stupid and completely unnecessary. But I'll be honest, I'm kind of ok with them giving me a reason to actually kill Forest Folk, in the original it never stopped bothering me having to genocide them without a single reason other than not being able to progress unless I accepted the mission to get the tablet back. At least 1U gave us Kupala in the mansion fuck she's so goddamn cute.
They were already dead.

They were in our way, what more of a reason do we need, anonymous?
Visil pls go and stay dead.
remove salad
I like that the games let me create my own party, but the depth of the world is what makes it a more immersive experience. The story in V just... disappears halfway through. The labyrinth existed since before people were around. It should be the biggest deal ever, but everyone takes your word for it and goes home. The ending feels disconnected from the rest of the game, like nobody knows or cares about what you actually did.
honestly V is balanced enough that any team comp can work imo. my team was exactly that except with a 4kat instead of the harb. important note though, my rover was a therian. this gave him a ton of mp but also chain blast which pretty much binds every part of every enemy on screen. overall becomes very very strong around the 4th stratum but struggles in random encounters in the 3rd. I didn't change out to a rover til later on though so having the dog to protect my 4kat in random encounters would have made things easier.
Behold my DEEMINS
EOV a lot could be explained due to being on an entirely different planet
I played 4 a while back, got to the second of third area before getting distracted by other stuff. I'll probably give it another try once I've finished the next few games in my backlog.
for me going to space and then transcending adventurer status to become legends and travel to the real EO world was cool enough to make up for the eternal tyrant being lame as fuck.
Will the series die or suffer an even worse fate, gachashit?
Armoroad is so bright and cheerful and lovely.
>Artist deleted most of their EO lewds
>Last work uploaded was in 2016
Fuck
pixiv.net
They still have this gem. Gunner and War Magnus are cute as fuck together.
Neat. If only I could find that one really nice quality Hoplite photo.
Still hopeful of EO Next news in the coming months, I can see a 2020 release happening anyway
>EO 2020
>gets the 7th Dragon treatmen
did they announce what Next Stage is yet?
no
which etrian is for femdom?
Blonde dark hunter, of course. Runner up goes to eyepatch dragoon. She's the same person, anyway.
The game was gifted to me. Im glad I played for Shilleka
>mfw realize portraits are ordered guy/girl/guy/girl and all of those "female" portraits were actually just traps
I want Hexer to chain me up.
After they're done with SMTV, because you know how Atlus works. Fuck Persona 5 for delaying EOV's localization a whole fucking year.
Enhance.
EVEN ON HALLOWEEN
GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE GAME I NEED ME SOME PLUMP C-C-C-C-C
I dunno, I liked her original art. And her english dub, she sounds so dumb I love it.
I'm wanna bake those potatoes.
I have a better one
I lost my copy, otherwise believe me I would.
For about an hour or so. Then I'd get bored and do something else.
You can emulate every Etrian game, you’ll never lose them again and you can just play them forever.
check out the /vg/ general where 4% is talking about the game and the other 96% is talking about which entriam they want to etrian to keep the thread from 404ing
Himukai is a drug
I liked eternal tyrant, he looked really intimidating unlike the usual normal final boss, and also the fight took like twice longer than usual, only issue for me was the music taking like 3 minutes to get going.
more like generals are just shit to begin with
What ones are worth playing?
all mainline ones
untold sucks
What other DRPGs are out there worth giving a shot? I'm kind of burnt out on EO.
3 and 2U are usually regarded as the high points for the series. 4 is the babby modo start for newfags in case the aforementioned are too difficult.
5 is shit. 1 and 2 are objectively obsoleted by their Untold variants in terms of gameplay, only reason to play them now is for the sake of completion or if you're REALLY interested in seeing the differences in 1 and 1U's plot and how 1U fucked it up.
>5 is shit
your mom is shit
>your mom is shit
Correct, but that doesn't invalidate what I said. 5 is a fucking mess in a lot of regards.
Say one besides that there's no real on going story,
Game balance is totally fucked. Whoever decided that it was fine for Necro to have an "I win" button up to the postgame with Zombie Power+Fair Trade clearly wasn't playing the fucking game.
That's a valid point, though. To me, it's really important.
they could have made a real cool story tying it into the space hints in 3 but noooo
really now, there's broken shit in a EO game?
The only way to actually have fun in it is to go out of your way to not use the broken combos, it's like this in every game.
I think it's okay to dislike that part of it, but EO stories are never anything really good, there's 1/100 of dialogue in it compared to any other rpg.
I started playing x months ago but got to the 3rd dungeon and got bored because it was taking too long to get my characters' builds online. I don't know if I want to go back and keep playing or not. I really don't like how they started making skills and classes gated by level or progression.
sometimes less is more when it comes to story
I agree, but the only really different part of is that you don't know what you're going to fight in the 5th stratum before actually getting there, It's still just a party of adventurers going down a harsh labyrinth while everyone sucks your cock for getting so far.
>really now, there's broken shit in a EO game?
I'm trying to remember when such a simple thing broke the game nearly as fucking hard and as early as that does. Immunize? EO is no stranger to broken shit by any means but it's usually not as available as Zombie Powder+Fair Trade is. More to the point though is that the Second Name system feels like shit, and I can see why they brought back subclassing for Nexus.
Just because it's minimal doesn't mean that it's not still the groundwork for a world to be invested in.
I actually enjoyed the second name more than subclass, Hell, the reason why is that it was more controlled than subclasses. It's easy for things to go crazy with subclass and you managing to make a broken combos without even noticing it, and finding yourself one or two-shotting bosses before you know it. I'd guess at that point it's just a matter of taste, but I wouldn't say either are objectively bad.
read the thread dude, it's already been said that people disliked how it cut down on exploration features and the skill system from the previous games.
I've had a few other grievances, I think the "your party successfully jumped over a puddle" events are too much and interrupt the flow of the game. The food mechanic is very poorly thought out, which is baffling after 2U. Stratums other than necropolis are dull thematically and rely too much on gimmicks like flying, teleporting, flipping switches etc
I laid out here what I consider good level design
>EO3
>there's an ability to nullify floor hazards
>can use it to counter the slowdown of mud and dodge nearby FOEs
>EOV
>levitate
>can't be used to fly over water
It could easily get a sequel on PC, there's enough screen real estate and pointer controls. It's not like the top screen stuff has to take up that much space while dungeon crawling. You can have a setup where you have the screen split sideways with the map on one side.
4 is as about is difficult as any of them. I don't know what you're talking about. 3 and 4 are the highlights of the series for me at least.
EOV's story was a mess. I assume it was meant to have a world map, more areas, and a different sort of ending.
The Tyrant was probably supposed to be connected to the king who tried to storm Yggdrasil in ancient times.
>4 is as about is difficult as any of them.
The degree to which Yea Forums hates EOV always confuses me.
In terms of gameplay and dungeon design it was the best entry since EO3 by far.
Untolds were fucking garbage.
It is though. Or at least from 3 on since I haven't played the first two.
I forgot about cooking. I never used it. It made finding gathering spots not exciting because it just meant throwing stuff out since you couldn't sell food, or maybe I never figured out how to.
2 Untold was good. The dungeon design is bad compared to the original game but it's still not as bad as the issues 1 Untold and EO4 had.
EO3 really could have used an Untold version. Skip the Story mode and just add mini-dungeons discoverable via the Ship overworld. Make Yggdroids useful. Etc.
There a new game? If not then why would I play it? I don't enjoy replays.
Nexus is the newest one.
The next one won't release for at least a year or two.

A eox boss theme i don't remember
>The Tyrant was probably supposed to be connected to the king who tried to storm Yggdrasil in ancient times.
I completely forgot about the whole war lore because the game suddenly shoved you into Lily's mission that came out of nowhere and by the time we got into the fourth stratum I believe it is never mentioned again. What a fraud.
Yeah I played that already.
What's the biggest issue with 1 Untold? It's the only one that doesn't click with me. I don't know why. I personally wish Gunner and Highlander could be chosen during classic playthroughs.
There are a few main issues.
>majority of new content locked behind insufferable Story Mode
>Grimoire shit is annoying, and they didn't figure out how to make it work well until 2U
>class rebalance makes the game less interesting/unique than the original
>medic spamming immunize and survivalist doing a shit load of damage
>interesting/unique
im interested in this since i can't choose if i wanna play EO1 or EOU1
i felt like U2's dungeons were shite compared to 3
It spoils the series biggest twist on the second floor of the main dungeon for starters.
The setup you are talking about is a fucking chore to actually pull off against any boss and is way overkill for random encounters, I don't see how it ruins the game when it requires you to spec one specific class for it and go hunting for the 9999 HP FOEs.
Even without the 9999 HP FOEs, Zombie Powder could also be used in combination with Fierce Shield to pretty much give your whole party free turns as long as your wraiths survived. Zombie Powder was overall very strong and easy to abuse even in random encounters because it had a very high success rate.
I really wanted to like it but I fell for a trap build and was too autistic to rest out of it
You might as well rest, that's one of the many huge flaws in V that it takes forever to build a unit because of the retarded skill requirements and how every single skill requires 10 SP to max. I had to rest my whole party and reorganize all my skills and second names so I could finally get something decent enough to progress.
I don't get it either, I enjoyed it way more than I enjoyed IV or X. Having so little story was actually a good thing for me, I'd rather concentrate on the actual game.
I already played all of them, when's the Switch entry?
Soon™
I liked it as well, though I am a bit biased since it was my first mainline one after being introduced to the series with 1U.
Play EOU. It's much more faithful to the original game than 2U is. 2U they just went full retard with the maps.
It's Koikatsu.
Damn, I didn't expect this thread to last this long.
EVEN ON YOUR PORCH
its nice people are mostly talking about gameplay
Post cards
Hating is a strong word but it feels kinda generic.
The OST is a lot less intense than the previous titles, and aside from 2 bosses it feels like ground you've covered 5 times over already.
Plus it doesn't really try to do its own thing like III/IV with the overworld and subclass.
Feels like the ambitions and passion are scaled down.
It's still well made but eh.
I would still like the races and custom colours to become a staple
It's been a while but sure
I was talking about the potatoes koikatsu cards user.
i can hear sirens now you fucking fag i am going to jail now because of this shit
>OI GUV, GOT A LICENSE FOR THESE POTATOES?
i only like the comics where the cute girls are being melted / mutilated
I stopped in the middle of 4 and around last year...
I wanna play it, but i really dont want to restart lol
I was the same with 5 and sometimes do the same shit with other videogames.
DO NOT RESTART.
Force yourself to continue from your last save once you want to replay the game. Otherwise you're never going to finish it.
I thought this series died with X?
The games have great replay value!
There was a teaser for a new game in the future but who knows when the fuck that's ever coming out.
Must have missed it, was it at E3?
I loved it personally. The only issue I had with it are the story being half-assed and Impact Pugilists being hilariously overpowered. I know story in EO is always light but each game still felt well thought out and progressed in a natural way. Everything starting with the 4th Stratum just felt like an entirely different story that was sewn together to the first half. I don't mind too much since the 5th and 6th strata were great.
Nah, it was uploaded to Atlus JP's youtube channel. Basically just a confirmation that the series wasn't dead.
youtube.com
>all-flat female parties only and pair various classes together.
>already a year gone by
Fuck, and I'm still not expecting anything about this until they show something about SMT5, whenever the fuck that'll be.
Atlus is fucking terrible with this. Remember the wait between SMTIV and P5's announcements and their actual releases? They always tease things way too early. #FE had this problem too but I'm not sure whose fault that was.
heh maybe you're right.
post canada
i dont see the appeal
Not a huge fan of first-person dungeon crawlers
I tried playing Persona q 2 because someone on Yea Forums posted a link to the cia.
And I got bored in the dinosaur level
I feel EO feels better to play and role-play than PQ, where you're just using lesser versions of existing characters
cry more tranny
