I wish the community didn't die on every platform. I bought it and played it on 360, PS4, and PC.
I literally emailed the devs and told them to port it to the Switch which is literally a no-brainer for EZ money. They said they wanted to focus on "their current playerbase on PC". At the time the average was less than 300.

obviously it's an annoying mechanic that way, but what about this:
enemies in groups don't die, but go down and need to be stabbed again to die for good
they also die if you down every enemy in the group
if you run away / get too far away / reset the enemy group, they all get helped up by their surviving comrades, unless they have been stabbed to death
