I feel like any thread I see about SF/Tekken/Smash inevitably degenerates into shitposting about and from the other games. Maybe it'd be better if people actually hosted lobbies in their respective threads so there was more relevant discussion to be had about matches since that seems to work pretty well for the UNIST threads.

Brawl was also the last time Sakurai tried to make Smash into a fully fledged video game. After the shit reception he got he just said fuck it and went full esports/party game mode becaue he realized nobody cared about the series outside that.

My one issue with Tekken is that I don't understand what's happening in matches outside of big punishes so it's hard for me to appreciate what makes certain sets so good. If there's someone who does decent commentary and analysis of matches who isn't Aris I'd love to know because I would like to expand the pool of games I can appreciate beyond just watching who wins.

Outside of the lack of Adventure Mode, I don't see it like that.Smash Wii U still had modes like Event Match, Master/Crazy Mode, Smash Tour (despite no one liking it), etc. Smash Wii U still feels like a decent game when looking at the amount of content, but I suppose lacking an adventure mode means lacking a means to pull it all together or something (especially since Master Fortress is more of an Adventure Mode-tier boss than, say, Crazy Hand in Melee).

Despite looking like a dumb gorilla, Speedkicks is highly intelligent and does really good self-commentary when playing matches. He has some youtube vids up if you care to watch them.

TheMainManSwe does tournament post-match commentary sometimes and explains situations as to why they worked out the way they did pretty well.

JDCR has a couple vids up that are english subtitled, the one explaining why jabs are really important is probably the best one for a newcomer.
