It's not that difficult, desu. The only challenging parts are the secret exits or big coins that you need the tiny mushroom and other powerups for, which you have to carry from another level in the game to get. That's not real challenge -- it's artificial and bad, frustrating game design. Apart from that it's a P fucking good game though. Multiplayer was a blast
