2bh compliance testing for xbox in UK wasn't so bad
no idea about about in house testing but it must be better and most people are aiming for that after getting experience in compliance testing
in japan and USA i think its a soulless hellhole of slave labor you only hear bad things about

QA for gaming is a shit job, don't do it. Wages are low and you will hate gaming.

Finally an actual girl gamer

Thanks, money isn't really an issue just wanted to see if it was any fun, guess not though damn

based taste

im in UK, was that in guildford? i think the m$ office is there

in beautiful Slough, not MS directly but VMC. not sure if its still the same deal for XBone, was years ago. if you are young and don't mind wonky hours, know how to computer, and know a second language it's a guaranteed job.

but it's not really a real career unless you are a manager / team leader type, the testers are too disposable.

Thanks for info, i have Spanish so hopefully can find one of the roles. I didn't want to just do localization though, was hoping to actually play the games

give me sauce on braces slut

localization is just free versatility though. if they can hire you to do compliance / functionality testing but also language testing then why would they hire someone else? you will get more consistent hours like this. if there's not much to do during quiet weeks, they will call you in to do both, rather than than someone that can only do system/sound/network/etc testing.

its honestly one of the biggest advantages you'll have in this field, because its not a difficult job.

braces are not guaranteed. however she is 'raine' from shitty youtube channel 'whatoplay' she has a personal insta where she tests makeup if your into that

My pal tried to get a job at Ubisoft as a game tester.
He didn't get the job because he found only 3 bugs while other applicants found around 10.
He's really down in the dumps right now and i don't know how to cheer him up

>makeup

not really my forte, but thanks for the sauce.

Imagine being forced to play games, 95% of which you'd never even bother pirating on your own, over and over and over and over again for months, and having to file for every single shit you find.

she also looks kinda weird without the makeup so i wouldn't recommend it

yeah i get that, but i thought it might be a fun environment to work with other gamers

thanks dude, usual info

Test automation in financial sector.

nice, what coding languages do you know for that?

QA is really boring, basically you have to speedrun games you do not like playing.

Learn Java/junit/selenium/optionally cucumber although it's shit/web services/sql/html/css/xpath/learn about xml and xsd and for the love of god learn how to read fucking documentation.

noted thanks, why not become a normal dev rather than automated tester? wouldn't it pay more

Pays about the same, maybe a little less and as a qa you get to know the system more than any dev. Then you can branch to ba or dev if you wish to do so, but no one sane would get rid of senior qa.

So were you a tester than learnt to code and moved into this? or a dev that liked testing?

Learned to code automation scripts in previous job as a way to still do my job faster than anyone and be lazy. Was paper pusher in bailiff office. Then i just switched jobs for more money.
