I built a gaming PC and I’ve played on it maybe 5 times in the span on 3 years. I’m still glad I bought it cause I have a beefy computer I can render stuff on but gaming is really inconvenient.
Gotta launch steam, click the game you want, sync up a controller. As opposed to PS4 where I just wake it up from sleep mode and I am gaming within literally seconds.
That being said I might opt out next generation and just use my PC until I have a stable career in my life. I don’t have $700 for a PS5 and Playsstation is becoming censorship trash.

Unless you plan to use the PS4 for all your streaming stuff and most of your games and shit, it probably isn't worth getting used to the interface.
Then there's the controller, which is crazy expensive, but doesn't even use half the stuff inside it for its games.
Steam has it's problems, but crontrollers definitely aren't one of them, there's lot more compatability, the steam controllers are usually on sale for half the price of the PS4's, and you can fully customize the control settings of every game to whatever controller you're using. Aiming with only an analogue stick is a fucking nightmare to people who are used to Gyro aiming, or mouse, and the fact that PS4 is fully capable of using it but almost never does is super frustrating.
Just buy both pc and whatever console exclusives are on? You do enjoy gaming right?

Actually steam fully supports ps4, xbox and even switch controllers, and even lets you use the gyroscope for aiming.
If you left your steam account on all the time like you do with your PS4, you'd be able to start up games just as fast.

Just set steam to start at boot, have a controller connected through usb or bluetooth and you'll just have to press the ps/home button to bring up steam's big picture mode, which gives you access to a browser, music player and your library in a nice controller-friendly interface.
