my computer is old, but not old for that game, yet when i went on to play oblivion, it was good, ill admit it, i wanted a story to be told to me and i was getting into it a bit
but on the 2nd oblivion gate (with the towers, bridges and complicated ways to know where you are, on some 2nd town after Kvech in story) my computer died
I was inside a tower, wanted to jump off of it because it was the wrong one, and then the computer dies and i cant turn it on at all
I sent it to repair, got a new unit for power intake, went in the save i had, same tower, same spot, boom, computer dies again the same way
went to repair it again, never had the balls to install the game again

Is this real or was he just joking? If real, I want the mod list.

I've tried again but I just can't do it.Everywhere you go, the same fucking voice actors. The shitty leveling system, the garbage character models. Don't get me wrong, I loved Oblivion and played over 600 hours on the PS3 (yes I'm a console pleb) but now I just can't face it. Even mods can't replace all the voices.

Fuck Bethesda for remastering Skyrim instead of this. Oblivion has the best music of any game I ever played.

Not true man, when you hear the "stop right there, criminal scum!" guy literally everywhere it really breaks immersion. It didn't bother me at first but when I attempt replays years after it sticks out like a sore thumb.

So I upgraded to Skyrim Special Edition because its supposed to be more stable and doesn't crash on me like LE always fucking did. Did I make the right choice? Not that many mods, no HDT or heels, or ENBs.

I recently did the same. Don't have any regrets about it, personally. I don't experience that many crashes anymore and I haven't encountered a single infinite load yet. So that's already great in my book.

Highpoly Lolita Reborn. It's pretty good, but it's a bit lacking in armor conversions. So you need to manually fix/modify them.

I havent had the motivation to reinstall recently as skyrim really doesnt feel as immersive as oblivion with lovers. I might actually just play vanilla oblivion due to modding always being a slippery slope. I think the biggest issue with immersion comes from oblivion having a much better spell system than skyrim and allowing for rape to be more ingrained in the combat. The trade off is skyrim is much easier to mod visually way better.

Rape is an actual spell rather than a hotkey. Skyrim focuses more on whether you sneak up on a character, while oblivion uses how much weaker the other is in combat as well as having sneak mechanics. Also, oblivion has way more creatures and quests that play into the lovers mod.

I only googled "oblivion modding" and went down the list this guy had, following instructions.

The FOV mods made my framerate shitty so I decided it was a better tradeoff to not use them.

I did have to download some sketchy patch thing to get Creative ALchemy working on Windows 10.

Surely Skyrim's Lovers Lab framework is at this point bigger and has more features than Oblivion's. Everyone migrated years ago.

Theres really only so many features you can implement in terms of sex content. Skyrim does have a bit more expanded stuff, but in the end it still feels like it's all about posing your characters to go through sex animations than an actual gameplay function. Lovers always seemed to center around gameplay because the visuals were not the high point of the game. Visually and customization wise, skyrim blows oblivion out of the water. It comes down to small things like oblivious dialogue system being much nicer in my opinion for the functions of lovers. Lovers bitch is much more well done than any of the skyrim equivalents. Oblivion just had better monsters and a spellsystem than skyrim as well. Once I started playing sexlab skyrim, I havent played lovers oblivion. That would probably be a different story if oblivion modding was as easy as skyrim.

Oh, that I agree with. Dance with Rogues is still my favorite porn mod, because of the merging of sex with narrative.

You need a few stability mods if you play on a modern system. I've never played unmodded for longer than an hour without a crash, but with a few tweaks you can make it incredibly stable. I even had a playthrough a few years back with 200+ mods that lasted around 100 hours without a single crash.

I found it to unstable and it had an impact on performance even if I tweaked it to my liking and disabled sharpening, dof, motion blur etc. I also feel like it adds unnecessary stuff to the game instead of focusing on graphics.

I also didn't use any ENB because it messed up with the shadows, like shadows on the top of the screen would disappear.
