Do you turn traction control on or off in your racing games?
Do you turn traction control on or off in your racing games?
I honest to everything have no idea what what traction control does, and I say this as someone who has played racing games from arcade to sims for the better part of my life. Am I retarded?
have you ever drove a car? Traction control keeps your wheels from spinning out you autist
It's controls your traction, retard.
It depends on where you're at in your progression and the car you're driving.
Me personally, I started with traction control and then turned it down as I got better. However, in high torque cars like F1 2019 I drive with medium traction control because I wanna race not pretend lol
I use a C40 Controller on PS4 btw. I can afford a wheel but can't justify the expense and space usage.
If you've ever floored a fast car and broke traction and felt the wheels spin and create smoke, traction control basically tries to control that shit.
Seriously you are retarded.
get a logitech driving force gt, very cheap used and perfectly fine to have some fun.
>have you ever drove
nigger
I turn it on in more ''simulation'' type games like mainline Forza for immersion purposes. But I turn it off in full on arcade racers like Horizon, because I dont need my car just spinning out at seemingly random.
Like the other user said, traction control keeps your wheels from spinning out, and in turn messing up your launch of turns. Dont know why he mentioned driving a car though, as if the average person would know about it by just simply driving. Under normal street driving, tcs wouldnt even really come into effect.
all assists off only
What traction control is:
Traction control essentially makes it so that your wheels spin no faster than the friction the road and tires allow.
So like, when you're in the car and you turn traction control off you can do burnouts because there's nothing stopping the wheels from spinning too much.
The problem tho is that traction does not always equal speed. So advanced players turn it down or off in order to turn the car in more into a turn and exit the corner faster.
LOOK AT THE ROAD YOU DUMB WHOORE
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Don't let these Lewis Hamilton wannabes tell you you HAVE to get a wheel to be good.
If you WANT a wheel or have the time to make a serious e-sports bid wheels are FUCKING USELESS and offer no advantage over the bottom 80% of players/ai
wowowow easy there
What car is she driving? I feel like she'd be driving a GTR, but that doesnt look like it. Or maybe she'd be to embarrassed to stand out, so she just drives regular small nip crap.
He's most likely a Californian retard who has a minimum of 5 vehicular near death incidents caused by him and several speeding tickets.
Seriously, driving in California is a shit show. I wish you fuckers would stay in your containment box.
Fuck knows. I mess with the settings until I can get it as arcade as possible but modern racers don't want me to do that. Recently got Forza Horizon 3 and it's just painful to play because of this. Fuck simulation.
I know youre just trying to bait, but give us something more.
>assists
>ever
ESC keeps you from spinning out. TCS just prevents wheelspin on launch.
Call it whatever, its the same or samey shit. Idgaf about real life really, im just playing Forza, and these games just have traction control labeled as tcs, and it does help you from spinning out.
every single driving wheel is a piece of shit
Not like simulation racers despite trying is considered bait now? grow the fuck up.
Gran Turismo - Always have TC on because Polyphony can't accurately simulate how it feels to spin in a car their physics feel terrible when you oversteer.
Everything else I keep it accurate depending on the car, driving mid 2000's F1 cars in a simulator you should have TC on since those cars actually had it in real life.
always on, and I race with a steering wheel but I just wanna have some easy fun, the only thing I disable are the navigation lines.
Just started playing FH4 a couple days ago. WHY OH FUCKING WHY is race matchmaking limited to your current session rather than drawing from the global pool of players? What a goddamn retarded decision, I can't even imagine thinking that was a good idea. I keep getting put in sessions with only like 10 players and none of them want to play PvP.
Yeah I was playing burnout revenge but it was too simulationy for me fucking simulation nerds
Assists are gay. First you turn on assists then before you know it youre playing bing bing wahoo kart, sipping onions and calling actual racing games autistic
TCS prevents wheel spin. You can still spin a car with TCS out.
Is it ok to play with turbo on in Initial D games if you're a casual player?
what the fuck does "turbo on" mean in this context
TCS in Forza is slower in 99% of cases. If your just using it for immersion that’s fine but if you decide you want to go faster turn it off.
I assume it means your car has a turbo or not.
If you want to pvp you need to go into the specific mode from the menu. I’ve forgotten what it’s called but I’m sure you can find it. You don’t just go up to random races and hope people join.
>need to go into the specific mode from the menu
Online adventure? Because that's what I've been clicking on, and it only matches me with people from my session.
No Online Adventure is the standard mode. There is a mode that is only multiplayer races, will know when your in it since it locks you into a car for a series of races against a set group of people.
If you haven’t finished the tutorial you might not be able to access it yet.
If the car detects the wheels have lost traction, it will ignore input from the throttle in an attempt to alleviate it.
If the car has it by default yes
Otherwise no
I only use ABS, everything else gets turned off.
>have never had a drivers license
>have a wheel and assetto corsa
>laugh as all my friends spin out and crash every time they try to play
off
You can disable TCS and keep ESC on, though, so no, they are not the same. "Spinning out" means the car has spun around in some wau, TCS prevents power-induced wheelspin. Different things.
Actually, I just realized I made a mistake. I meant that I turn it tcs off in mainline Forza, and I leave it on in Horizon. If im doing full on arcade racing, I just want to leave the gas held down and not worry about other shit.
About being faster with or without tcs in Forza though, meh... It comes down mostly to driver skill, some will be faster with, some without, and it also depends on the car. I mean, I really dont care about those tenths of a second that I could get anyways, as im not a leaderboard fag. The only ''assist'' that does make a make a major impact of your times right out of the gate, is switching the car from automatic to a manual. If youre driving in automatic your car is literally gimped, as it always short shifts. Also, abs to and extent.
>"Spinning out" means the car has spun around in some wau
And what could one of those ways be? Perhaps as a result of the fucking tires spinning? Hmmm? Really making me think here.
Also, what Forza has esc? I'vs only ever seen tcs and stm, stability control, which is worthless so its an automatic switch off.
Not the guy you are replying to but come on, if you don't care about the difference that's one thing but don't pretend that being ignorant makes you correct. Yes Forza has ESC, you even said it in your post, stability control. Take a guess as to what the SC in ESC stands for. And yes ESC and TCS are different, he explained it poorly but that doesn't make him wrong.
off unless it's approaching like ridiculous horsepower that can't be tuned into controllable one.
ABS also on to practise braking but i sometimes leave it on depending on game cause there's little feedback.
it's okay, i had no idea how suspension tuning worked or if it did anything until I started racing for real because like most of the information the car gives you is absent in games.
And what exactly am I trying to be correct about? Maybe the other guy shouldve mentioned that ecs was stm, to the which I wouldve said what I already did... Call these terms whatever, and idgaf.
