This goes doubly for MMORPGs, too. I don't know why, but nothing I've played lately has really given me the experience I want.

I'm waiting on someone making a Superman game that lets me fight all the aliens and robots and shit but also save cats from trees, stop regular criminals, rescue civilians from danger, and also fly to other cities or into space. I want to be able to *play* the scenes where Superman is hanging out way above Earth listening for people needing his help and then jetting towards the scene. I want to be able to fly to the moon and take a look at the flag planted there and cruise past Mars and all the rest to take a look at the sun up close. The Superman Returns tie-in game kind of does some of the first parts, albeit not very well, and Megaton Rainfall does a lot of the latter parts. But I want those together in one game. And I will never get it

not op, but going through the same thing for over a year now. does it come back though? i went through the period of not wanting to play games at all, now i WANT to and i cant even find one that keeps my interest for more than a day. personally i think its because gaming is "unproductive" and since i've grown up and gotten a life and worry about wasting time i cant bring myself to waste what i already have little of in a day. idk man shit suuucks. i just want to enjoy a game like osrs, wow or gw2 again but i cant for the life of me :(

All I want is a high fantasy roguelike with a rich story and lore.
Like, a sandbox roguelike with cities and characters and a huge world and plot. And it'd be easy to do so since you wouldn't be handcuffed due to graphics and whatever because it's a fucking roguelike.
But every single roguelike is just “GO DOWN DUNGEON, KILL MOB” and it frustrates the fuck out of me.
