its actually the best bioshock
Yea Forums is just retarded and full of old boomers
this but unironically
It was Fantastic, Yea Forums is just pissed because there were no Lolicon little sisters in it like the previous games.
>kill enemies in area
>move to next area
>rinse and repeat
its a call of duty single player campaign that looks pretty
The first two are good because of the atmosphere and the ammo hording. 3 sucked and if you disagree you are probably 12 years old.
I liked it alot, but this opinion is not allowed on Yea Forums
>i know they hate it
>do i finish reading their post, in case there are reasons for it?
>no
>i'm going to go play the whole game
>and then make this thread
>just to ask what may have easily been answered in their post
>the first time
Bioshock 2 was better
I thought the skyhook thing was pretty cool.
it sucks and that's that
3 had the best atmosphere you autistic fuck
Gameplay is repetitive, it lacks the tactical mechanics of the prior games, and the story lacks a coherent message.
Not an awful game, but disappointing given the hype behind it. A solid C+ of a game.
Literally name me one linear FPS not like that
This post were all written by me.
This post was written by me
story and the gameplay was not only worse than the others but it was complete shit.
>saying x is like y is saying that only x is like y
This is how a retard thinks.
It could have been so much more and it fucked it up
give us an answer faggot
Name me a linear FPS not designed that way
Go ahead
in swat 3 you could tie up enemies
>doubling downs syndrome
K
Linear FPS games are all designed like that, thanks
Take a look at what it was supposed to be like and compare it to what we got. That will tell you why.
bioshock wasnt as linear as infinite
>i need more chromosomes
It was a good game. Don’t put any stock in to Yea Forums‘s opinion on anything. This place has no taste and is generally irrelevant.
It's still
>kill enemies in area
>move to next area
>rinse and repeat
With maybe slightly more secrets to look for in each level
What is Bioshock 1 and 2, retard? Games where exploration, resource management, and creativity are far more important than just mindlessly shooting down corridors. Games that show just how completely Infinite missed the mark
The relationship between Booker and Elizabeth was too fast. She starts talking to him like he's her best friend minutes after meeting.
>gets examples
>haha dude no guess u lost lmao
Yeah the bright atmosphere was super unique and cool. lol.
>exploration, resource management, and creativity
>Bioshock 1 and 2
Nah dog.
All "examples" came after that post, that got debunked at that
You're a dumb dumb
>post boils down to "nuh-uh"
Good talk, dipshit. Keep enjoying your shit taste in games
Look, homie
Stop parading BioShock 1 and 2 to be more than what they were. Infinite is literally the same damn game. People are just pissed about Infinite because what was advertised wasn't delivered, which sucks, but it's still a BioShock experience
except bioshock 1 and 2 were more than just run and shoot
>overly simplistic factions
>overly complicated nonsense plot
>Elizabeth turned out to be entirely useless, only helping when I didn't need it
>tried way too hard to be "le SCIENCE XD!!" with those stupid fucking brother/sister conversations
>demonization of unironically the perfect life because white man bad and it can't possibly be good gets real old
I will say you could float a boat on the buckets I've come over Elizabeth SFM porn, so it's got that going for it.
Okay. You got me.
Run, shoot, look for loot
LITERALLY INFINITE TOO
wait a minute that card
Deus Ex.
but 3 lacks a dark and creepy atmosphere and does not require you to consolidate ammo and those are two things which kinda made bioshock.
>caring about Yea Forumss opinion
no
i actually loved it but it is understated how much the weapon limit and the linear levels are cancer
>Why did Yea Forums hate it? I thought it was pretty good.
It's incredibly obvious that the final build of the game was shat out in like 6 months because 2K told Ken Levine to quit fucking around. In any case, Matthewmatosis pretty much destroyed it.
Fucking Goldeneye, lmao. How underage are you?
Anyone with a positive iq can tell how bioshock 1 and 2 are different gameplay wise but your just ignoring the differences so you can ignore infinites faults.
Judging by the way you post i'm not surprised you liked bioshock infinite, bet that first puzzle really took you a while huh.
Maybe it would've been okay if the first 2 games didn't exist to make it look like shit
ikr dark edgy is veri cool lol and its underwater wow very nice right?
but the 1st 2 games are literally shit, the gameplay was miles better in 3
it wasn't very fun, like how bioshock was
this
Terrible story that contradicts itself and hand waves it all away as "muh constants".
The gameplay was meh and not that memorable but the writing was God awful
>2 weapon limit
All the abilities were exactly the fucking same. Stort was uninpressive. Combat was boring. Even the gun selection was lame and the upgrading was counterintuitive.
Atmosphere was good I suppose. That was about it.
In Bioshock 1 and 2, you had different weapons, perks, plasmids and special ammunition to plan out how to take out different enemies in different ways.
You had open areas you were free to explore at your own pace and find hints of lore, environmental stories, and valuable supplies
Each weapon feels distinct and with purpose
The stories for each game, while hardly masterpieces, kept the player interested and fed an unsettling atmosphere about a dystopia further devolving into chaos.
Now, how many of these things do Infinite have?
The only thing it has that feels similar to the first two games is its environmental storytelling, but, even then, it’s to a much lesser extent because most of the game is pushing you from story set piece to story set piece without encouraging the player to even explore.
The guns don’t feel distinct at all, the areas feel like long corridors as opposed to open areas to explore, the story is “whoa 2deep4u,” Colombia is infinitely less immersive, atmospheric and interesting than Rapture.
In short, fuck you Infinite is bad and misses everything that made the first two games good.
It's a much newer game than bioshock 1 so the gunplay feels a bit smoother but overall it really isn't more fun. The visuals are nice but the story and characters are terribly boring. Bioshock 1 had an incredible atmosphere that Infinite lacked and it affected every aspect of gameplay.
The first two basically borrow heavily from survival horror. So the third one comes out and only little kids who didn't play the first two liked it. Everyone else was like what have they done. Honestly you may as well just play a shitty Call of Duty campaign
Didn't have as much of the creepy atmosphere that 1&2 had. The only spooky parts were the brief John Wilks Booth cult house and the insane asylum with the brain-damaged dimension-shifted inmates. The changes to the Boys of Silence were stupid, giant horns to amplify what they hear but they decect you with a flashlight beam coming from their mouth.
Weapon limits were stupid, you could blow a lot of money on upgrading your guns but then you might be forced to use the RED version of it that doesn't carry the same upgrades. Also how do the upgrades work when you keep ditching the weapons themselves? Do you detach the mod yourself every time you chuck the gun away in the middle of combat, or is it some CONSTANTS AND VARIABLES shit where every single gun of that kind you pick up ALSO conveniently has those mods pre-equipped?
Enemies weren't very varied, most of them were DUDE WITH A GUN that just gets a bigger HP bar the further you get into the game. The super enemies like the animatronic Washingtons and firemen were good ideas, but there aren't enough of them to keep things fresh when all other enemies are fairly generic
No crafting or scrounging for resources to make things more tense, replaced with Halo shield and a walking HP/ammo dispenser
Story kept tripping over itself. What happens to the other Elizabeths from the other timelines you visit? Does she just vanish and get replaced with YOUR Elizabeth, or are there two of them in the same world?
I agree with all this. Infinite really feels like being pushed down a corridor as apposed to being in a world.
b1 and 2 had different endings
b1 and 2 let you carry a variety of weapons at the same time
b1 and 2 had more tonics and even repeats where dumb down
b1 and 2 had options that actually could affect how you play
b1 and 2 had a weapon that wasn't 1/2 reskins
b1 and 2 had a health and magic pool that the player had to manage
b:i has an invincible character that follows you around
b:i has puzzles where the answer is already explicitly given to you.
b:i has cool looking skyhooks that look cool but aren't very useful.
>all those scenes of Comstock speaking live over a loud speaker, sometimes on a giant projected screen, and he has spooky sounds and other after effects going
Sound design in general was unbelievably obnoxious.
>Sound design in general was unbelievably obnoxious.
What else didn't you like about it? I thought that was one of the few things done well.
Wasn't it originally supposed to be an open world game but they turned it into a shooter on rails?
except for the intro and section in the "future". the rest of the game doesn't reach the same level of immersion of 1 and 2, eg, world feels dead the whole game and the only npcs on the streets are there to have a fight
plot gets stupider the more you think about it
game overall is worse than what we saw in the demo
no birb fight or chase sequence despite it being a main point of the story
antagonist doesn't even care about your existence, people only chase you for the plot mark
> lol racewar timeskip, how did they get so much power? doesn't matter
> lol puzzles
> lol 2 weapons for the cod audience
I liked it too
All the bits and pieces are fine but they are all mixed together in a cacophony of constant blaring sound just coming at you from all around:
- someone speaking over a P.A.
- music from a radio or some other source
- enemies shouting and hollering (some of it sounds cool like the Patriots, others are just annoying as hell like Mr. Hands)
- that horrible loud ghost thing
- ringing alarms/automatons
- audio logs playing
- people singing
- etc
All the while there is this cool dynamic score, that intensifies when you get kills, going on at the same time, but its really annoying cause its a lot of loud banging and clanging.
I unironically loved it.
because Yea Forums is full of underage contrarians and leafs
this has been established many times
so how old are you, since like Bio:I?
Awful writing and story that completed drowned out and suffocated the actual gameplay, which was mediocre anyway.
>BIOSHOCK INFINITE SUCKS THERES NOT ENOUGH BACKTRACKING I WISH THAT HALF OF THE GAME WAS BACKTRACKING LIKE THE FIRST AND SECOND THEN IT WOULD BE SOOOOO AWESOME!
People only like it beacuse of Elizabeth right?
If you had to backtrack in 1 and 2 then you suck
Infinite is OK until around the time you help the gunsmith guy. At this point the writers and level design guys all just throw their hands up and give up. Nothing you do makes any sense. Characters openly wonder why they're morons in game. A bunch of plot holes crop up. The finale is total nonsense with a bunch of huge anti-climaxes. You fight that fucking ghost three times. They introduce a redundant nearly identical second half of the arsenal that asks you to upgrade your guns again, no carry over between matching weapons.
And before that Infinite just wasn't as good as 1 and 2 thanks to lmao 2 weapon, worse shops/upgrades, regenerating shield and shittier plasmids alone.
This is all really basic stuff and I think the Yea Forums contrarian faggot trolls are getting really overplayed.
>Welp, we found the tons of heavy gunmaking machinery. All we have to do now is carry it out by ourselves by hand.
>...
>Wait a minute.
Genius
>make Bioshock
>it's simplified System Shock 2
>simplify it even more
>Infinite
Yeah, it's just a little too braindead, corridor-y and mediocre for me to care about it enough to play it more than once on Normal. Boring, crappy, bland. Take your pick.
Is Bioshock 2 any good? I played 1 and Infinite; never played 2 for some reason. People say the gameplay is better than both.
Because its blatantly the dumbest and easiest of the BioShock games and was clearly a rushed out verision of whatever they had originaly planned, yet still managed to garner tremendous praise from games journalists.
Bioshock 2 is Bioshock 1 with more combat options and some new enemy types that are cool and fun to fight. The new guns are fun as hell to use and you get things like a melee drill that you can perform a Big Daddy's charge with. The story quality is about the same if not as novel though the expanded Little Sister/Morality choice stuff is good fun.
If you like BS1 you're pretty much guaranteed to enjoy BS2.
If you liked the first one, you’ll probably like the second. It starts a little slow, but it really refines the gameplay, keeps the atmosphere, and I can’t really think of another game that implements a father/daughter relationship as well as this one.
2 is gameplay wise a more fluid version of 1, story wise its a bit simpler but all together cohesive, and coupled with minirvas den its a very good game and worth a play.
Bioshock 1 had objectively shit gameplay.
