I remember seeing a thread on Yea Forums a few days back about GPUs, and when OP asked about whether the RX 580 was a good buy, everyone said
>Nah bro, just get a used 1070 instead
Well then, where the FUCK can I find a 1070 for under $200? I see new and used 580s for cheap everywhere, but every seller on eBay I see puts the 1070 at $200 minimum. Why does a last-gen GPU still go for that much money?
I remember seeing a thread on Yea Forums a few days back about GPUs...
Just yesterday we had a thread about GPUs too and I saw anons claim used 1070s are going for cheap, I look it up and it's in the 300-400$ range and the new ones for 380-480$ range, it's pissing me off. I just want a low TDP GPU capable of running Kiwami 2.
>Why does a last-gen GPU still go for that much money?
Because current gen offerings sucked shit and the previous gen held their vale extremely well.
I don't get it either. I just want a cheap GPU that can run MHW at 60fps. RX 580 seems to do the job at $180, while 1070s are consistently in the $200-$300 range. The 1650 sucks dick, and the 1660 is too expensive for what it is.
better go for a 1660 ti
Anyone comparing an rx580 with a 2070 is just a fucking retard full-stop.
But yes, in the sub-200 price range, RX580 is a good deal and it will play all your games at 1080p/60hz just fine. But also I would get an RX590 instead because it's basically just a beefier 580, and it often goes on sale for like $190.
1660tis are overpriced at their typical $280 price range. You can get them on sale for around $230 which at least makes them somewhat reasonable price:performance, but definitely don't buy at normal price.
MHW is a very cpu intensive game, and it's very demanding. Remember to turn off or lower volumetric fog to boost performance.
2080 ti's don't get 100 fps at ultra in 1440p, with an i9 9900k oc'd to 5ghz all cores.
I'm planning to pair it with a Ryzen 2600, is that a good CPU for MHW?
Who the fuck claims that the rx580 isn't a good buy for under 200? It's still a great GPU. If you want something better than just bite the bullet and get a RX5700 xt.
This. The way I see it, if you're staying at 1080p/60hz, get an rx580/590. If you're going for 1440p/144hz, get a 5700XT. Those are the best choices right now in terms of price-to-performance. Anything else and you're paying the jewvidia tax and spending a grand to get any real performance boosts.
seems like you don't know too much about gaming PC's, which is okay!
Basically, if you don't have 2000 USD to put into parts at least, then just get a console. But for MHW espically, your going to want intel.
At least get Ryzen 3600, if your going AMD. I wouldn't recommend AMD at all though, Intel is much smoother and objectively better, it's just more expensive.
I don't know, by the way, but in your price range, chances are it's not good.
You can try letsbld.com to see, just spec out your computer and you'll see average fps in 1080p.
I'd get the RX580 too during that DMCV promotion/offer but the TDP value put me off. Plus, I'm switching off from AMD's GPUs for a while since every card I buy from them, the temperature sensor is always broken and I then have to manually adjust the fan speed. God just give me the Jim Keller of GPUs already, he managed to singlehandedly bring back their CPU division with Ryzen with one excellent CPU at a very low TDP to boot.
when does the bullet comes with fans?
especially
looks like 53fps at 1080p with a 1660ti
MSI venus xs 6g oc
Any tips on upgrading my 980? It's still doing fine weirdly
>Basically, if you don't have 2000 USD to put into parts at least, then just get a console.
I already have a PS4 Pro, but I don't feel like paying for online, and all my friends who have MHW already have it on PC and don't feel like buying the game twice.
>At least get Ryzen 3600, if your going AMD.
A friend of mine told me that the 2000 series is still good for gaming and a good value for the money. I'm not getting a 144Hz monitor, so 60fps is good enough for me.
if it's doing fine for you then don't upgrade it and be content with what you have
also meant to say that I have a PS4 regular, not Pro
get a 2600x if you want to be cheap yet reliable but otherwise a 3600 is the superior choice at this point
it's 53fps at 1080p with a 1660 ti.
IDK about the 580, but it's a little lower I think? I don't really pay any attention to low end benchmarks, sorry.
the 2000 series is still the same as it was, it's just that the price of the 3600 is like 200 dollars and much better than the 2700x, gamers nexus said that it's the best $ to perf right now, if i remember correctly. You can youtube the 3600 review gamers nexus.
That's about all I can help you with, sorry dude.
I'll look into the 3600, then. This is a poorfag build, though, so I'm pinching my pennies pretty hard already.
lmao just buy a 2080 ti
Mid-august. Or get some RTX super, they still are good gpu's, just overpriced.
desu 2600x is all you will need for the foreseable future, 3600 is a good recommendation because it's a more modern processor, faster and that should be just slightly more expensive, you can't go wrong either way (just make sure your mobo can be updated to handle it tho)
they are overpriced in my country no matter what, a 2060S is 400
in 2 years AMD will have a 2080ti like card for $700-$800
of course Nvidia will also reveal their latest one which will probably be 25-30% faster than that for $2000+.
literally just wait
Just like how AMD had a 1080Ti card for $700 (Radeon VII) and the 2080Ti launched shortly after for $1200, right?
people like you are a joke and your basically the same as a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist
kvetch harder kikes, all that is good comes to those who justwait™
The thing about justwait™ is that there's always some new technology on the horizon. Ampere is coming in 2020, and 2 years between new GPU generations is typical for the industry these days. If you're always thinking ahead like that, you're never actually going to get anything. Turing cards are overpriced, but Navi and rDNA look really promising and a significant step up from the GCN-based cards. If you always justwait™, you'll never actually get a new card.
