it wasn't THAT bad
It wasn't THAT bad
Other urls found in this thread:
if it was called something else other than dark souls people would be praising it
I only played with 2
Is it really a pile of shit compared to the other games? I enjoyed this one quite a bit, so it would be uphill from here, right?
no, you played 2 first so it will probably be the one you'll have more fun, when you go to the others you will know what to expect already and it won't be as special as the first time, but that doesn't mean that you won't have fun, 1 and bloodborne are great, 3 is the most boring one but it's still good
it wasnt bad at all it just had a lot of bizzare design choices that are tedious enough to make me think twice about re playing
>ahh, the most versatile PvP in any souls game, I can't wait to think up a new buil-
*forces you to give up a ring slot to not get locked out of pvp*
*makes invasion orbs limited*
meanwhile Das3 doesn't have even half of the viable build variety of 2 and yet it's easier to boot up and build a new invader because I don't have to deal with the nonsense of Das2
You'll enjoy 3 and will probably enjoy 1
still better than bloodborne at least
it's not bad at all, it's just the weakest of the series
yeah true
DeS - 7/10
Das - 9/10
Das2 - 7/10
SotFS - 8/10
Das3 - 8/10
BB - 6/10
Sekiro - 9/10
Yes it really was that bad. No amount of posting this thread over and over will change that.
I liked it a lot, but I agree with the general criticisms of the animation being awful and soul memory being a stupid system that didn't stop twinkers.
I don't agree with complaints about most encounters being multiple NPCs against you, that just makes it more fun. Stop playing it like Legend of Zelda, scrub.
Dark souls 2 is the best dark souls game. 3 is the worst by a large margin. 1 is very good, but 2 just did everything it did, but better.
based and correct pilled
>I don't agree with complaints about most encounters being multiple NPCs against you
probably the single most brainlet criticism of the game clearly made by people who refuse to break lock-on
was really funny to see Yea Forums suck e-celeb dick for whining about this and then one guy in every thread would post "just break lock-on lol" and the thread would instantly be deserted
It definitely wasnt as good as what it could have been, what with cut content and ideas post director change. But what we got was meh.
>the matthewmatosis video where he's crying about not being able to see both dragonriders at once while locked on
>every other player just broke lock on and had an EZPZ fight
Lack of enemy variety made the base game far too easy even with SotFS. DLC was appropriately hard but some of those boss fights really showed how poorly thought out the durability system was, especially the dragon in the second DLC.
Dodge roll iframes being tied to a stat was also pretty stupid.
I agree
It was worse.
I like Dark Soul 2 but man this triggers me!
I played the entire series recently, after the dust had settled, back to back. What did I think of it?
2>1>3
Most of the good stuff was paywalled behind dlc, so I understand how poorfags might not have seen what we saw in it. They were pretty close as base games, but the dlc for 2 blows 1's out of the water.
best in the series cause it actually tried to do something different
Its actually much worse than most people remember and think it being.
it did some things well and some things poorly. the things it did poorly were done well in prior games which why people get hung up on them, while the things it did well were refreshing and subsequent games didn't replicate its strengths, which is why some people look back to it fondly. it's not more complicated than that. if you like it that's fine, if you don't like it that's fine, it's a good game with hard to ignore flaws.
So sad nobody took your bait so take this pity reply
>Dodge roll iframes being tied to a stat was also pretty stupid.
it actually makes perfect sense if you think about it for more than three seconds.
still couldnt figure it out? ok let me explain. Das2 has the lowest amount of base iframes in the series, by quite a bit actually. now if you remember das1 iframes were based on equip load, divided into three tiers. this was fine during the early game, but as you approach meta level it becomes broken, as any das1 vet will tell you. by forcing das2 players to invest levels into iframes you create an even playing field across all levels and builds. if someone wants to play roll souls in havel they need to heavily sacrifice in other areas, conversely if someone prefers tanking with a shield they dont need to waste many levels on ADP
It did some things well like loadout diversity, doing away with insta BS shit and just had loads of niche stuff you could fuck around with. But it was very unpolished and janky and some of the ideas should have been aborted, like SM and the dank lighting engine they demo'd should have stayed.
Easily the souls game with the most squandered potential. Such a shame.
it's not "bait" and the cancerous mentality of "nobody truly disagrees with me, they only pretend to in order to make ME angry!" is so staggeringly self-centered that it makes me question your social life outside of Yea Forums
I would agree with you if 2 didn't allow you to teleport wherever you want right from the start
It's literally bait, and not in the "heh that guy disagrees with """us""" let's sic him". Bloodborne shouldn't even be in the same sentence as dark souls 2. One is a whole new idea combined and the other is something rushed to cash in on the "hard gaem" hype around that time.
>Edgy /pol/ picture
Truly, I'm shocked.
>It's literally bait
Incorrect.
>Bloodborne shouldn't even be in the same sentence as dark souls 2.
...because of your exaggerated hatred for one game and misplaced affection for the other?
>One is a whole new idea combined
Bloodborne is roll souls with a shallow eldritch aesthetic. Nowhere near as compelling as Fromsoft's other work. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game (6/10 is a good score), but overrating exclusives has been a long-standing issue on Yea Forums. Possibly a large-scale sunk-cost fallacy re: buying a playstation.
SOTFS = Bloodborne > DS1 = DS2 = DS3 = Sekiro > hominid shit > dog shit > horshe shit > Demon's Souls
3 was worse
>blunderborne
Demon's> Dark souls 1=BB>Sekiro>DS2>DS3
>if I just call it shallow it's ok
No matter how shit it may be to you, it's a game where more care and love went into it than Dark souls 2, a game that needed a re-release just to be even considered complete.
>post a picture
>/POL/ /POL/ /POL/
What is wrong with you faggots? Why are you always so transparent? I don't even browse the board. You can always leave if the reaction images people post gets you in a frenzy like that.
>No matter how shit it may be to you, it's a game where more care and love went into it than Dark souls 2, a game that needed a re-release just to be even considered complete
This is a strange non-argument. Are you saying the game that shipped with tacked-on multiplayer (which was never fixed) and horrifying optimization on its only system received more love and care than the game which received the best DLC ever shipped by the company as well as an entirely new version of the game? Doesn't seem like you thought this one out very well.

Trying a little too hard there, champ. No need to fly off the handle when somebody looks down on your 'epic' /pol/ folder.
>Makes sense for PvP
>Soul memory exists
No sane person who played both Scholar and Bloodborne can neither compare nor detest any of them. They are both masterpieces.
That's a lot of words to say "I have no convictions, please respect that."
The gateway in bloodborne is a portal
How is that a non-argument, but yours is? All you said was shallow. Anyway, 30 fps is a staple on the pee ess four. That's "good" to them, so that's the norm for them, barring drops. Fight clubs were still fun and thrilling.
>best DLC ever
That title belongs to The Old Hunters. Having good bosses alone doesn't justify the rest of the dlc being forgettable garbage. It's funny how you see it as a "new version" of the game when it was actually a company trying to erase their mistakes with the original release.
And it's clear with your passive aggressive gif that you're not from here and a simple reaction image got your panties this much in a twist.
All I can say is at least DS2 tried and do something different. Where as DS3 was basically sucking DS1's dick for a long portion of the time.
On launch it absolutely was. With SotFS its okay.
>How is that a non-argument, but yours is?
You: "GAME HAS MORE LOVE IS BETTER"
Me: "When you really think about it, that's wrong. Also, it's irrelevant to the quality of the game."
>30fps
The game dips into the teens on a regular basis and rarely reaches 25. This is embarrassing, and ties into the shallowness of the game- the aesthetic that Myiazaki was chasing (or, more likely, his vague understanding of it) led him to piling way too many unnecessary assets into levels which added nothing to gameplay and in fact were to the detriment of gameplay via constant framerate drops.
>That title belongs to The Old Hunters.
...no, it really doesn't. 2's DLC added a huge interconnected hubs to the base games. Any individual DLC could reasonably compare to Old Hunters- all together it's not even close.
>Forgettable
It's funny, I can't remember much of anything from Old Hunter's dark_blue_and_grey154.map while most of 2's varied maps stick with me.
>And it's clear with your passive aggressive gif that you're not from here and a simple reaction image got your panties this much in a twist.
Are you really still upset that somebody made fun of your /pol/ image?
I said, barring drops. In any case, ot was fun when you thought it was just about vampires and beasts, and that change in atmosphere was nicely done.
And yes, TOH was by far the best DLC from From ever. All you said here is "no it didn't" without providing any deeper reason. Did you play it? It gave us more insight into what the hell was trying to be done with the old blood and everything. With 2's DLC, the bosses were really amazing and challenging, but apart from that, it was nothing remarkable.
>TOH had dark and blue and grey scenes only
Yup, you exposed yourself here. You didn't even play it.
>screeches /pol/
>I don't browse it, why are you mad
>no u
>ellipses
Could you be any more of a faggot? Keep exposing yourself as more of a retarded monkey please.
>I said, barring drops
Oh, so it doesn't count? Flaws don't count because you call safety?
>And yes, TOH was by far the best DLC from From ever. All you said here is "no it didn't" without providing any deeper reason.
You: This is the best because I say so.
Me: No it wasn't. Each individual DLC from 2 is on par, for example the interconnected nature and varied color palette of each as opposed to the samey color palette in OH.
You: Oh, it's better because you say so, huh?
>>screeches /pol/
I wrote 3 words here which you have been incoherently babbling about for three posts now. Why are you lashing out over casually getting made fun of?
It was worse than first one
I didn't say it didn't count. Just saying that's par for the course for ps4 games unfortunately.
And no, I don't say "because I say so". I like parts of 2's DLC and acknowledge why someone would consider it to be good. You, on the other hand, just handwave it all to be shit.
>made fun of
So you highlighting it doesn't show that the image had you worked? Come on. It's okay. No amount of twitter gifs will hide that.
I left to play some video games and come back to you STILL whining about getting laughed at.
in what regards
agape ring
>Die
>Lose max HP
>Get punished even more for having trouble on a segment because now instead of dying in two hits, you die in one
Who thought this was a good idea?
I accept your concession. If you don't like certain reaction images, feel free to go to other sites that are more suitable for your ilk.
Still trying? I must have struck a nerve.
>just resorted to "IM NOT MAD" now
You can go back now.
